Prologue: Welcome Wanderer

Prologue: Welcome Wanderer

Welcome Wanderer,

I greet you, entertain or horrify your busy self by lending and me an ear. So I can regale upon you a story of horrors, beasts and souls undying.

A black sky hangs overhead as a strange humanoid creature digs through a pile for corpses for trinkets. He shambles around the pile with a severe limp, searching dutifully for and anything that can catch the light of the red moon hanging overhead. As the creature walks half congealed blood seems to drip from its orifices, it pockets all manners of trinkets into his slit stomach, using it like a bag. The grotesque creature screeches softly, revealing jagged and chipped teeth, as it shambles quickly over to a strange oblong shape. It has never seen anything like it, it shimmers and glows, gluing the gaze of the creature to it. The creature looks around hurriedly, spit flying as it does. The creature wonders if any other scavengers have discovered its amazing haul. It quickly shoves the egg-like object into it's slit stomach, producing slimy squishing sounds as it does. The creature shambles as quick as it can in the direction of its cave, leaving a trail of slimy blood as it does.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

An hour later, the creature is dead, ripped to shreds by some vicious hunter. The object still lies within the body, though its position has shifted, it is now imbedded into the heart of the beast. Years pass and the body decays, scavengers and insects clean flesh from bone, and even the bones are taken. Yet the heart with the object inside remains untouched, it beats slowly now, as if it was still inside the body. A ring of corpses surround the heart, all those who got too close perished. In the ring lies a deer like creature with crystalline horns with teeth much to big for its mouth, a winged lizard, and a human. A human woman, with silver hair and pale skin, one of her entrancing purple eyeballs has popped out of her skull. The heart stirs, glowing slightly and beating faster, to a miniscule degree.
