Nagare: “That damn Ryoma! I can’t believe this guy! Just leaving me hanging like that!”
As much as he tried to be cool-headed, Nagare couldn’t help but growl in agitation.
Carrying an injured person with him was out of question, so Nagare asked the villagers to take care of the guy they rescued from the monster butcher. Hopefully that guy would regain consciousness by the time this mess could be dealt with.
While he liked to consider himself to be a man with ice-like demeanor, in reality, Nagare was as volatile as a volcano.
Now he was investigating the orcs alone, with only the silver sword by his side.
Nagare: “Aren’t we supposed to be partners, Shoyo? What kind of partner leaves his comrade and runs off on his own?”
Yep, next time he sees him, Nagare will definitely punch Shoyo in the face.
He called himself a Yaksha, but Nagare suspected that Shoyo was just a weirdo who suffered from delusions of grandeur. Who wouldn’t if he possessed such regenerative ability?
Demons can continuously regenerate, without any limitations. If it were not for their vulnerability to Holy element, silver, or sunlight, there would have been no way of fighting them.
In Shoyo’s case, he was not vulnerable to any of demon weaknesses, but his regenerative ability was nowhere near as strong. If anything, he was closer to a lizard.

Following the villagers’ directions, Nagare ended up stumbling upon the grounds of a battlefield.
Bodies of many green monsters lay there, each one beheaded.
Orcs.
Creatures that possessed intellect comparable to humans and acted in groups.
They were comparable to goblins, but unlike them, Orcs were far more powerful and dangerous fighters.
Bodies of humans were there too, each one ripped ashred to the point they were nigh-unrecognizable.
From the looks of it, about 5 humans.
According to the villagers, there were 5 Demon Hunters and one Guardian.
Nagare: “This looks pretty bad. They managed to kill many orcs, but they lost their lives in the process. I wonder if one of the bodies belongs to that Guardian…”
While the five human bodies were located here among the corpses of slain orcs, the trail of dead orcs just continued on stretching from there, with many of their disembodied heads covering the area.
Nagare: ‘I see. So five of them lost their lives with the first wave, but someone managed to push them back and keep fighting….’
Following this trail led Nagare to the opening of a cave.
Ready for anything, Nagare readied his sword, anticipating a surprise attack.
But much to his surprise, he saw a form of a man, sitting over a bonfire.
From the looks of it, he looked like a wild person, with ripped up closing all over him. He had long and messy green hair. Overall, he resembled Nagare’s definition of a forest barbarian. Yet, he had a sword by his side. It was longer than Nagare’s, providing much larger reach, with its blade shining with light green hue.
He was cooking chopped up green meat over bonfire.
“You can come out now. I can tell you are watching me”
Nagare: “*Comes out of hiding*. Very well”
Nagare: “Nagare Shirosaki, class 1 demon hunter of Order of Hunters. Identify yourself!”
“Sheesh, so uptight, are you not?”
Using a crutch, he gradually lifted himself up.
One of his legs was heavily bandaged up and bleeding, but he still managed to make an awkward bow.
“I am Jin Fu. Guardian of Wind, Order of Hunters. Very nice to meet you, Nagare san”
