Chapter 2-Chaos at dark forest village

The spherical ball of darkness floated slightly above the ground while giving off a heavenly aura. It's surroundings were void of any life forms and it was deadly quiet. Out of nowhere, a lion with a long golden mane ran towards the Shadow. It's fur radiate under the night sky, giving it a profound and mysterious presence and its claws were sharper than any divine swords ever made. It was a Divine Beast. Beast with ranks were undoubtedly much more fearsome than common beasts.

Wooshh. It went past the Shadow like there was nothing there at all and met with no resistance. While the lion was still in a daze at what just happened, the scene in front of him unfolded which caused it to leap back in surprise. The Shadow started to disperse and transform into a beast; exactly with the same features on the lion. It could be said that it was another copy, just that, it was void of any colours.

Startled and intimidated, the lion gave a few roars before retreating back to its cave, which was further into the forest. The Shadow in its Lion form stared at the direction the lion ran off to and it contemplated for a while before heading in the opposite direction.

Its speed was unfathomable. The cold winds roared past it's face; comparable to a refreshing wash up. As leaves and branches glazed its sleak and dark body, several dark mists could be seen floating away from its body, but it would eventually merged back to the main body. As the Shadown ran, it created a vapor cone and went from mach 1 to mach 2.

The sensation was a bliss, and the Shadow felt something...It was tingling feeling. It felt happy.

After several minutes of running(more like flying), it arrived at the gate of a small village. A sign on top of the village read"Dark Forest Village". It was named that way due to its location beside the Dark Forest. The Dark Forest was home to the tyrannical Divine lion and it was rumoured to be able to stand its own against a 1000 strong armored knights. This would explain its shock after seeing another one like it.

Of course, the Shadow had no idea how to read nor comprehend the foreign village in front of him. After hearing noises outside the gate, the gate guards standing at their guard posts immediately shouted,"Who's there? Show yourse...lf!!??". The guards' booming voice eventually trailled off at the end when he realised who was outside the gate. "AHH...It is the rumoured Divine Lion!!! Raise the alarm!! Evacuate the village!!!" Upon gaining back their composure, they immediately started their evacuation.

Several villagers started to complain at the sudden disturbance to their sleep but after hearing the arrival of the Divine Lion, they began to evacuate without voicing out their complains.

The sound of the alarm immediately drew the attention of the Shadown and it felt..curious. Without glancing at the guards, it sauntered its way to the source of the alarm, which was in the village.

When the guards realised that it was making its way into the village, a feeling of dread swelled up inside their hearts. Despite the intimidation from the lion and the fear of provoking it, they clearly knew their duty as gate guards and thus, they hardened their face and stabbed their spear towards the lion.

wooshhh... Their spear went throught the body of the lion and they felt no resistance at all. Unable to comprehend the situation in front of them, they froze in the stabbing position in surprise. What even shocked them was that the lion paid no attention to them and only continued forward.

Their spears which were once stabbed into the body of the lion were out as the lion moved towards the sound. The guards did not move their spear, it was the lion that moved out of their spears!

When the lion reached the source of sound, the sound stopped. The alarm was actually a log hitting a giant chime which produced a deep and heavy 'gong! Gong!'. The guard striking the alarm immediately stopped the striking the chime and tried to run away. However, his legs went soft and flopped onto the ground, a puddle of water formed on the ground where he was seating at.

The lion stared at the chime, trying its best to listen to the sound. However, no sound came out. It started to recall how the sound was produced and immediately, it tried to replicate it by hitting the chime with its body.

Wooshhh...The lion went past the chime and came out from the other side. After seeing no sound coming from the chime, it started to begin its fruitless ram against the chime. It then felt soemthing...it was like a suffocating sensation. It felt frustrated. The lion then gave a deep and ear-splitting roar which caused the air around it to vibrate intensely.

The confused guard which sat on the floor was brought back to reality after hearing the roar and after witnessing the actions of the lion, he knew that it wanted to bell to produce the sound like before. Wanting to appease the walking calamity, he started to strike the chime and the sound was produced again.

When the lion heard the sound again, its ears perked up and a sense of satisfaction started to sprout in his heart. After noticing that the lion had calmed down, the guard heaved a sigh of relief while pondering the baffling situation when the lion was hitting the chime.
