”Ughh” I grumble, rolling out of my bed straight onto the floor. Getting up, I put on some casual wear as I’m just going to the local video game store to look at the new releases.
A Short While Later...
”Hmm... this new game called Skywell coming out in two months really does look revolutionary, most of the major vrmmo companies are already sponsoring it.” I shrug then I turn around to walk out the store. As I’m walking in the sidewalk I see a dog on the road, clueless to the truck about to run it over. ‘NO!’ I shout in my mind, heart racing, I leap out onto the road and run to the dog, I push the dog out of the way right before it gets hit, then it hit me. Blackout.
One Month Later...
I wake up and I see that I’m strapped with wires on a white bed with a gown, indicating I’m in a hospital. “Oh my! He’s awake! Doctor Fergund!” A nurse next to me shouts. A doctor walks in, he’s everything you’d imagine a doctor to be. “Hmm.. yes.. Mr. Alex Mercy I presume?”

”Yes that’s correct. Do tell me, what exactly happened?”
”You saved a dog from getting ran over, you got hit instead. Caused your head to bounce off the truck. Frankly speaking, you’re lucky you don’t have any major injuries since the truck driver stopped in time.”
’Well that’s good...’ “I feel fine now doctor, I’m ready to go.”
“Yes yes, the reports don’t show anything unusual, we’ll have you out of here.”
Returning home I collapse on the bed out of mental fatigue. The ringing in my head starts to hurt and it gets louder and louder until it stops. I am laying on the bed staring up st my ceiling fan, however it is moving extremely slow. It’s almost like it’s in slow motion. I get up, however I move a lot slower than I usually would, like I’m stuck in the same speed as the fan but my minds in a different place. So I guess I got a superpower? Nothing to be upset about, if it’s due to saving the dog then I’m glad. I sit there in slow motion trying to control it, what felt for hours to me was only minutes in real time.
I finally begin to get the hang of it, I just need to strongly will if I want it on or off and it will happen. Time to sleep.
