Darkness. A feeling like no other with boundless opportunities. A canvas for the mind to work, a solid block for a chisel to chip at, a void that moves out of the way for light to fill and create where there was once nothing.
The light had many designs spheres were very common at the top of the list. Some of the light even comes from the giant spheres floating through me. Then there’s the hexagons! OHHH the Hexagons! It's like the spheres were flattened and given some of the most beautiful edges ever! Hexagons are the bestagons after all.
What of the other shapes? There’s the Triangles, Squares, Pentagons, (Best)Hexagons, Heptagons, Octogons, Nonagons, Decagons, and a whole lot of other -gons! I think there’s even something called a “Mobius Strip” which is a one-sided shape. How cool is that?!
Light makes so many amazing things, I wish I could…
What could I do?
What if
I could… create?
Could I create? What would I even make?
…
Existence
And such a thing from nothing somehow became something. Nothing too complicated no, just a will. A little wisp in the vast emptiness that is me, I wonder why that is? Why didn’t I try something before? Anyway back to my little… little?
It doesn’t seem small, quite the contrary actually. Shifting towards one of the Spheres Light made its actually really big. Not in the sense of mass just, existence. Like a weight pulled down on my being immediately close to it. Like a… hole… An incredibly deep one.
As I was deep in thought the Sphere Light had made had been shifting ever so slightly toward my new… Hole. Curious, I let the sphere drift far enough to see what effect Hole would have on it.
It was terrifying.
As if the entire Sphere had been pulled. Hole stretched the Sphere so much so, that it looked like an oval circling down a well into me that never ended. Then the pieces, OH THE PIECES!! Numerous chunks flying off, broken from the Sphere now spiral, and into Hole! Into ME!
I’m sorry Light! I didn’t mean to break your Sphere!
Each chunk of the spiral brought with it some more of the weight into Hole. It didn’t seem to be growing, but the weight from the former Sphere had to go somewhere right?
Then almost as if reading my thoughts, which it could have well done, another Hole appeared to the side, across several of the glowing Spheres and more weight pulled from there as well.
Along with it, more of the Spheres Light had made.
Now thoroughly panicking and thinking I had destroyed everything Light had made since we became us. I shifted to the new Hole since Hole number 1 was far, far away from any of the other Spheres to munch on.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Here though things weren’t any better. Light’s Spheres had started drifting from every direction to Hole 2.0 and while not fast, I still hadn’t the faintest idea of how to stop them.
Taking one of the closest Spheres I started to do the same thing the Holes were doing and tried to pull from the force Hole 2.0 had on it. Pulling worked for a bit.
Then a Sphere passed,
Then another,
And another,
Realizing I was in a stalemate, I abandoned the sphere now showing some of those Mobius Strips along the center and shifted to the closest one. Which was an emitting Light, I wish they weren’t here to see this, and since the other Sphere at Hole 1 had broken off into chunks. I tried to make sure this one could stay together by pressing as hard as I could to resist it breaking off again.
To my surprise. It did!
Almost
...
It exploded.
Why, I have no idea, but the Sphere collapsed in on itself, and… something went everywhere! I had to really focus when I shifted to see reaaaallly small spheres surrounded and clustered together into an orb of orbs. Surrounded by… light?
I don't know how Light got all the way down here but I don’t think it's them. There's no existence to it. Almost as if it had no will to do anything other than be stable. Which is understandable now that I had two Holes of Stretchiness going around stretching all of Light’s Spheres.
Speaking of which. Where did all the stuff go after the Sphere exploded?
Oh.
Of course.
Shifting my view to comfortably observe both of the Holes, I decided to see what would happen if they tried to stretch each other! Maybe even moving them far enough away would stop Light’s Spheres from getting stretched! After pulling on both of them very slightly to get them moving I noticed something. When I moved Hole 2 it seemed a little bigger than Hole 1. Was stretching the Spheres making them bigger? Pulling the bigger one was harder than Hole 1, so I just decided to bring it over when I noticed moving Hole 2 just shifted the course of all the Spheres around it to intercept anyway.
-Time-
As they came together it seemed like Hole 1 was going to orbit Hole 2 like I had seen past Spheres doing. Mainly around the ones that emitted Light. Though when they came close Hole 2 also started to shift and slowly but surely the two Holes circled around each other along with all of the Spheres around them too!
It significantly delayed the interception time and kept them from eating more of Light’s Spheres! Looking back at the circling pair of Holes I noticed something that I hadn’t before.
The Holes absorbed the Light given off by the glowing Spheres. As Light moves around and around the Holes, Light just stopped. Like it wasn’t even there in the first place. Just. Gone.
Wondering where the pieces of Light was going, I decided to go into one of the Holes to see if it led somewhere. As I enter Hole 1 it seems the Light around me bends to make a giant ring around the Hole.
Moving towards the center of the Hole it seems. There isn’t one though, it just seems to keep going deeper and deeper. As if the area around the center just keeps enlongating and stretching, making a seemingly simple shift turn into a sizable journey to the end.
…
Still going deeper even though time feels like its been passing a little slower.
…
This is getting ridiculous! My concept on time is a little skewed but with how much its taking to get to the other side of this Hole is taking way too long for its size!
Finally feeling defeated I decided to just turn around and go back to space to see if Holes were eating more Spheres than I thought and are just getting bigger.
Outside though, its like nothing had even happened. None of the Spheres had moved further than they should and the Holes are still in their dance of destruction in the same positions as before.
Did I really spend all that time in the span of a moment? Not even that, a fraction of one?
I really wish Light was here…
