Another 3 weeks gone by in a flash…

Emyrs and Alice had finally arrived at the capital of Roukar’s kingdom in Chetvert. According to locals, the capital is called “Krando”. It has an astounding population of 1.5 million in it, one of the most densely populated places for humans in the world of Eceth.
Unlike the town of “Ares”, the capital city was much more organized. If one were to describe the town of “Ares” as a jumbled maze, the capital would be a massive beehive; although the capital has many “tunnels”, they are patrolled by guards 24/7 on every nook and cranny.
The guards on duty do their job at a very strict manner like a programmed machine. This meant that the streets would be safe and sound, and theft, scams, bribes, brawls, bullying, and even rude behaviors are not tolerated.
However, there’s a catch. The guards themselves accept bribes, abuse their positions and are virtually rude to anyone lower than them. (This is kind of ironic...)
Adventure’s guild
_______________
Opening the door-
Emyrs: Huh?
Trying to open-
Emyrs: (bewildered) Why won’t the door budge. Is the door locked?
Emyrs inspects the door carefully (by the way there was no doorknob or even a HANDLE). If it wasn’t for the fact that the guild was located on the main street of the capital, pedestrians would have already though that Emyrs was trying to break in…
At that moment, a husky voice came behind Emyrs.
“Young man, what are you trying to do?”
Emyrs turned back, revealing the voice owner, a knight in full metal plated armor. On his left side of his armor was an emblem that had the embedment of a griffin head (symbolic meaning: courage and boldness).
Emyrs: (coughed dumbly) Erm… trying to open the door...
Knight: (cachinnated) Youngsters these days are truly interesting!
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
Emyrs just stared silently at the knight, while Alice seemed to be more interest in the food than the knight, as she gazed at the far off food stall absent-mindedly.
After a peal of long laughter (I would have run miles away from this guy!), the knight was finally satisfied. He looked at Emyrs.
Knight: Young man, is this your first time at the capital?
Emyrs: (nodded) Um.
Knight: Ahh… I apologize for being rude just now. (Seriously? This guy...)
Emyrs: (shook his head) No, it’s fine.
The knight placed his hands on the mull post and…
Wha- THE DOOR SLID OPENS?! (what’s going on in the mind of Emyrs)
Knight: (Looking at the gleaming with amazement eyes of Emyrs with a sense of accomplishment, as if he was revealing his grand invention.) Now then, we shouldn’t be blocking the entrance for too long.
However, never would the knight know that the amazement in Emyrs eyes was actually filled with sympathy. Emyrs was not amazed at the function of the door, but at how people were able to live so long with such inconvenience without inventing something new.
Being brought back to reality by the nudging of Alice, they rushed in hastily. The knight had already sat at a table waiting for them.
Knight: I haven’t introduced myself yet haven’t I? (Took off his helmet, unveiling himself as if he was a piece of art. With his shiny bald head and a white, fluffy mustache on display, he made a gentleman’s bow, unfitting for his masculinity.)(We have weird characters guys...) My name is Garen, Garen Vimbert.
Emyrs: (Acting calm on the surface, but having a mental breakdown with the absurdity of the man in front of him. He returned a gentleman’s bow.) My name is Emyrs Levas (meaning pure immortal or bright immortal.), you can just call me Emyrs.
Alice: (Hiding behind Emyrs, shyly, with a tinge of redness on her cheek) Alice Levas (female beast inherit their husband’s surname)
Garen: So, Emyrs and Alice, what brought you guys today to the “adventure’s guild”?
Emyrs: To complete a team rank-up.
Garen: Hoh? What rank are you guys?
Emyrs: Currently rank C, and we are going to take the trial to officially rank up to rank B.
Garen: And, where’s you team?
Emyrs: All here.
Garen: (confused) Where?
Emyrs: (pointed at himself than to Alice) Both of us.
Garen: That’s surprising. (stroked his chin) Well, I guess we, the old generation, are truly getting old. We can’t compare to youngsters these days… (staring far away)
Emyrs: (understanding, shook his head) No, we’re just a special case.
Garen: (sulking) I know you are just trying to make me feel better…
Emyrs: (shook his hand, wryly) No, no, I was serious, we were just a bit special. (Looking around at the gazes of other adventurers) If you don’t have any problem we’re gonna get going first-
Garen: (In realization) Now that you have reminded me, I was invited to be testing the ability of a well-regarded team newcomer. It was said that the team had been doing exponentially, became qualified to be a B rank adventurer in only more than a week of starting their adventurer career. (Walked off in a leisure manner) See ya later then, youngsters!
Emyrs: (mumbling) I didn’t even remind you anything… As for the team…. Well, good luck to them for getting such a bizarre old man.
Alice: (Felt the ominous presence began to rise, her ears shrunk, she tugged Emyrs’ shirt) Ne~ Emyrs, why do I have a bad feeling about this...
