The Humble Knight

"Hmm? Is the Summoner still asleep?"

"Last time I check she was, yeah."

"Well that's odd. She's usually always up early."

"Maybe she's just tired."

"Probably yeah."

...

-I-I-I-I-

A wild grin swept across my face as I found myself in what seemed like a wooden hut and the peaceful noise of villagers going about their day.

Arising from a long slumber while stretching had never felt this liberating.

How long has it been since I last drew breath?

My awakening was greeted by an interesting sight.

Two little knights, one wearing a small robe while the other wore tiny armour.

The knight wearing the robe was scared and was hiding behind his older brother. The older knight in armour was brandishing a tiny sword at me, demanding who I was and what I had done with someone called "the summoner."

"Why hello there," I whispered. Amused by the sight, I playfully raised my hands in a surrendering manner.

The tiny knight continued threatening me with his sword.

"I'm friendly, I promise." I said truthfully, "Your Summoner is perfectly okay. I just wanted to visit for a bit, that's all."

The two small knights looked at each other with puzzled helmets.

The braver knight once again demanded who I was.

"Who am I? Ahh, that... that is a good question," I chuckled as I gave myself a bit of time to think about the answer, "I'm just... a humble knight. Yeah, let's just go with that for now."

I slowly knelt down and approached the two tiny knights.

"Nice to meet you two. What are you names?"

They cautiously backed away from me which was understandable.

The one who wore armour was named Alfred and the one wearing the robe was Cleric.

"Alfred and Cleric..." I repeated, "Is your summoner treating you well?"

They both nodded eagerly.

I smiled as that genuinely warmed my heart, "That's good."

I then tried to pet one of them on the head but Alfred poked my finger with his sword out of reflex.

I laughed, "No need to worry, your summoner will be back by tomorrow."

...

-I-I-I-I-

I gracefully exited the hut, smelled the clean air, and admired the sun. After taking a huge breath, I shouted to the entire village, "GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!"

Anyone who was nearby almost jumped up in shocked at the sudden noise of my very, feminine voice.

"Oh, m-morning Summoner..." One of them greeted me with a confused wave.

I observed the people around me. It was a fascinating sight. This village was filed with people who looked exactly the same. They were like clones. How peculiar. I had never seen a village like this before.

"Summoner? Are you... okay?" One of them question me. They must've thought I was sick or something.

I replied with a bright grin, "I am feeling wonderful today, thank you."

That only seemed to make them even more concerned. The villagers threw confused faces at each other. They looked at Alfred and Cleric for answers but they just shrugged.

"OH MY! That lake looks stunning!" I said out loud as soon as I spotted the beautiful view. Before anyone could say anything, I bolted towards the lake, leaving everyone feeling completely flabbergasted.

...

-I-I-I-I-

"Oh wow! They have a leviathan down there! How lucky!" I said out loud even though no was around.

There was no pier in sight though. Have they started fishing here? That's a huge waste of food if they haven't. I did see an unfinished boat on the way here so they probably had plans on doing so.

I leaned my head over the water to see 'my' reflection. I was indeed a woman. A woman who looked exactly like the other ones I saw in the village. The only difference I could spot was the number "0217" that was printed across my neck like a tattoo.

How interesting. How do the villagers tell each other apart from one another when they have the exact same faces? Even with the numbers, that would be quite difficult, wouldn't it?

Alfred and Cleric had followed me to the lake. I'm guessing they probably planned on following me everywhere I go for today. I wouldn't mind carrying them but Alfred was still cautiously brandishing a sword at me while telling his little brother to stay behind him.

Once I lost interest in the lake, my attention was brought back the the village, "Well then...Shall we explore?"

...

-I-I-I-I-

"Good morning!" I greeted.

The woman I greeted looked exactly like 'me' and was immediately caught off guard, "Oh, h-hey summoner. Umm, it's actually afternoon."

"Oh is it? Haha, oh silly me, I must've slept in today."

She gave me that same strange look that everyone else kept giving me, she even looked closer at the number on my neck to double check it, "A-are you okay, Summoner?"

I gave her a bright, cute smile along with a small wink to accompany it, "Honestly, I've never felt better!"

She blankly stared at me before feeling my forehead to check for any fevers.

...

-I-I-I-I-

Naturally, some villagers gathered in private to discussed this unusual change of behaviour.

"Hey, have you guys seen the Summoner today?"

"No I haven't. Why? Is something wrong with her?"

"She's been going around talking loudly to everyone as if she doesn't know them."

"Oh that was her? I just thought we had a new Aria in town."

"I know right. It's quite weird. Any thoughts?"

"She doesn't seem to be sick..."

"Maybe she's just in a good mood today."

"This seems like more than just a 'good mood'. She keeps asking questions that she should already the answer to."

"Oh, that is very strange."

"Yeah, in fact, earlier she asked me about where we get our food from... even though she literally helps the Reaper with hunting."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah, and she started saying there was something that tasted 'fascinating' in the food. Honestly, what is up with her today?"

They all placed their hands on their thinking chins.

Finally, one of them clicked their fingers as if they had gotten the answer, "Ooooh! Maybe she's just doing what the Reaper always does. You know when the Reaper does that creepy laugh?"

"Oooh! You mean she's acting?"

"Yeah! Maybe she's just giving herself a different personality."

Everyone nodded in agreement as it was the theory that made the most sense to them.

It didn't take long until the entire village would eventually reach that exact same conclusion.

With the bucket I 'borrowed', I scooped it into the well to fill it up with water, only to immediately chuck it all out on the grass. I repeated this action several times.

The well looked just like any other water well: stone walls, and old wooden pillars which supported a simple ceiling to give the well some shade. There was only one slight difference. There was no pulley mechanism installed that most wells have to bring down the buckets. It wasn't necessary. Since the water was filled almost all the way up the stone wall so you could easily reach with just your hands.

By now I had scooped out at least 50 buckets of water and yet nothing changed. The well remained full regardless of how much I scooped out.

The moment I saw it from a distance, I knew there was something strange about this well.

I continued scooping water out for the fun of it while Alfred and Cleric watched me.

"Umm, Summoner what are you doing?" I believe it was one of the "Arthur" fakes. He was carrying his own bucket and was understandably very concerned over what i was doing.

We all awkwardly looked at the tiny pond of water that I had accidentally created next to the well.

"Is this water infinite?" I asked him.

He raised an eyebrow at me, "Yeah, it is. You didn't know? Haven't you taken from this well many times before?"

He spoke as if it was normal to have an infinite water source.

"Who build this?" I asked.

Arthur paused for a moment, "Oh, I... I actually don't know. I remember it being really misty one day and then suddenly the well was just there."

Elizabeth1129 had a question about the fishing boat that was still a work in progress but she soon realised that she couldn't find the Samurai anywhere, "Hey Sage, have you seen the Samurai today?"

"She went to the forest this morning," Replied the Sage, "Something about wanting to visit an old friend I think. Sorry, did you need her?"

"Oh no no, it's okay, I was just wondering," Said Elizabeth before another topic came to mind, "by the way, have you met the Summoner today?"

"I did and it was SO WEIRD!" The Sage exclaimed, "She's so energetic all of a sudden. She kept asking questions about my staff and skill tree. She looked really shocked when I summoned air fish in front of her even though she's already seen me do it a hundred times. "

"Yeah it's quite weird, everyone's saying she's putting up an act."

"But why would she do that?"

"It's a thing that the Reaper does in order to forcefully distance herself from the personality of the original. Perhaps the Summoner was influenced by that... speaking of the Reaper, how is she?"

"Oh, she's doing great. Honestly, her regeneration passive is doing wonders for her injuries. Cleric said she'll make a full recovery in a week or so."

"That's good to hear. Thank you again for all your hard work. It's always really scary when the Reaper comes home like that so it's really assuring to have you and Cleric here. Although, you must really have your work cut out for you huh, I swear the Reaper has come home so many times with injuries that's its becoming a trend at this point."

The Sage softly laughed nervously while scratching her head. Even though the she was relatively new to this villager, she couldn't help but agree with that last bit.

"Oh wow! This is a pretty nice field you got me here!" I said with my usual loud tone.

The Yukari fake, who I assumed was a farmer, jumped a little at my sudden intrusion, "Oh hey Summoner... umm, thanks?"

"Did you do this all by yourself?"

"Well I had help here and there but I do take care of most of it so I guess so. Having said that, the field didn't look this healthy until after the Samurai helped- wait a minute, you should know this already."

This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

"Oh really? Oh my bad, I'm just sooooo forgetful today, HA! HA! HA! HA!" I laughed out loud.

The farmer eyed me carefully before looking at Alfred and Cleric who simply shrugged back at her.

...

-I-I-I-I-

I was called inside as one of the Eve fakes wanted to talk to me in private. I was told she was the one who made everyone's clothes.

Eve looked down at me with a condescending look. She ordered me to "sit" so I kneeled down in front of her. She was knitting a piece of fabric in her hands which somehow made her stare a lot more intimidating.

"Hello, Summoner."

"Yo, what's up?"

She paused, "...Summoner."

"Yes. That is me, I am the Summoner." I smiled.

"What are you doing?"

"What do you mean?"

"Don't play dumb with me, child. What is up with you today? Why the sudden change of behaviour?"

Is she one of the older ones? The way she talked was certainly a lot more mature than the others. I guess you really wouldn't be able to tell who are the older ones from just their outward appearance. I still don't get how these villagers are able to tell each other apart from one another. They literally have the exact same voice.

I placed my hands on my cheeck and gave her the most innocent, cute smile I could conjure up, "What are you talking about, Aria? I've always been this cute and charismatic... Your name is Aria, right? Or was it Lily-"

She grabbed both my cheeks and started pinching them really hard.

"OW! OW! OW! OW! OW!"

...

-I-I-I-I-

Just like that, my fun trip around the village ended as it was time for everyone to head to sleep. The day ended way too fast but to be fair, I did wake up in the afternoon.

As confused as everyone was, it was really fun interacting all of them. They all seemed like wonderful people.

Before I 'leave', I decided to visit the lake once more. Naturally, Alfred and Cleric followed me there instead of sleeping.

"You got a really good place here," I told them, "be sure to treasure it."

Alfred still had his tiny weapon aimed at me, however, Cleric no longer hid behind his brother and casually stood next to him.

I laughed. I made my laugh a bit softer than usual since there were people trying to sleep nearby.

After all my chuckles died down, I fell silent, not uttering a single word. I sat there by the view of the lake, thinking. Thinking heavily as my eyes blankly stared at the water.

I could hear the soft clanking noise of Alfred and Cleric also sitting down behind me. Alfred still made sure there was some distance between us out of caution but he no longer had his weapon out.

In the moment of peace, I begun humming the tune of my favourite lullaby, gently swaying my head left and right. After a few verses, Alfred and Cleric also started swaying their heads to the tune of the song.

"Have you heard that song before?" I asked once I was done.

They shook their heads at the exact same time.

"Haha, I figured, it's a very old song..." I chuckled before my eyes began to admire the stars, "... Would you two like to hear a story?"

The two knights looked at each other for confirmation before nodding.

A melancholic feeling suddenly rushed through me as the memories began flooding back in. I took in a deep breath and got ready to tell the story, "There was once a foolish-"

"So who are you, exactly?"

The new voice that interrupted our conversation almost scared the soul out of Alfred's body.

It was the voice of a Yukari fake, the same voice as that farmer I met earlier. However, this voice sounded a lot more... hostile.

Emerging from a shadow was indeed a person who looked exactly like the farmer I met earlier. But this one couldn't be any more different.

"I was curious when the Scout told me the Summoner was acting weird today but... you are clearly not the Summoner."

After standing up to face her, I playfully raised my hands in surrender like I did with Alfred, I found myself smiling with amusement, "Ahh! So you must be the Reaper that I've heard so much about. Were you eavesdropping-"

"Where is the summoner?" She interrupted with a harsher tone, "What have you done with her?"

"Well to answer your first question: I am just a humble knight. Also, is that jacket a sentient weapon? Wow, those are quite rare, you know-"

"Answer me now or I will force it out of you." The Reaper stretched out her arm and a deadly looking scythe with shadows and blood particles surrounding it appeared in her hand. The scythe was huge and almost taller than she was yet she held the weapon with such ease.

I chuckled, "Oooh, you're a feisty one."

Panicked and slightly scared, Alfred and Cleric kept looking back and forth between both of us, clearly torn on what they should do in this situation.

"I would rather not hurt my friend," Said the Reaper, "but I will if you don't release her right now."

Oh wow, she actually seemed like a descent person despite the 'I will kill you' vibe that was radiating from her scythe.

"Oh it's fine, you won't have to worry about that." I said.

She raised a questioning eyebrow, "Why's that?"

At that moment, I could physically feel the weight of a wild grin slowly take form on my face, "Because you're so weak, you won't be able scratch me, anyway."

There was a deafening silence that followed after that statement.

This was the first time Alfred had ever seen the Reaper look so stunned.

If Alfred and Cleric had human jaws, they wouldn't slammed onto the ground by now.

It wasn't long until the Reaper formed her own psychotic grin, "Haha...hahaha...hehehe..." She started off with a few laughs and chuckles which quickly escalated, "Haha...HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

The Reaper clutched her stomach as if the fake laughing was giving her stitches.

So much for trying to stay quiet.

Her laughter stopped and her face went from psychotic to blank within a single instance. She glared at me, "Did you just... taunt me?"

Her sudden shift from psychotic to blank was a lot more creepy that her crazy laughing.

"Whoever you are..." The Reaper spun her scythe before stabbing it into the ground in a threatening manner, "you must be quite strong then, right?"

"Well, I always prefer to show, not tell," I said as I dramatically rose my hand and pointed my fist towards the sky. She tensed at the gesture.

"COME TO ME!" I shouted as I opened my fist to show the dark sky my palm, "DESTINA: SWORD OF LIGHT!"

The Reaper defensively raised her scythe while the two knights braced themselves.

"..."

"..."

Except... nothing happened.

I cleared my throat before repeating myself "DES. TI. NA: SWOOOORRDDD... OF LIGHT!"

"..."

"..."

"..."

"..."

The Reaper and Alfred just stared at me with blank expressions.

"COME TO ME, EXCLAIBUR: SWORD OF JUSTICE!"

"..."

"..."

Still nothing.

"POPPY: SWORD OF BEAUTY!"

"..."

"..."

Cleric started clapping for me out of pity.

Now sweating, I lowered my arm and awkwardly said, "Sorry ahh... could you, umm... just give me a second..."

I turned around and started whispering to myself.

"Girls come on, you're embarrassing me... please, I just need one of you. Anyone? ... are you being serious right now?... .. what about you, Poppy? You love to fight, come on, just like old times... What do you mean you hate that nickname?! It's an adorable nickname... Oh, don't give me that tsundere attitude... What do you mean, why? Look! If she's got a cool looking scythe, I need a cool looking weapon too..."

The Reaper and Alfred looked at each other with questioning looks. Alfred just awkwardly shrugged. The Reaper was not impressed. Cleric was still clapping for me.

I let out a huge tired sigh and threw my arms up, "FINNNE! I didn't need a super cool looking sword, anyway! I could do this with my arms tied to my back."

"Are you done?" Asked the Reaper.

"Yes, I'm so done with them. But moving on..." I faced her once more and took in a few breaths to calm myself down. I then placed my hands behind my back and said, "I've been meaning to stretch my legs so let's go with this: if you can land a single hit on me, I'll tell you where the Summon-"

The Reaper dashed forward as the blade of her weapon neared my cheek.

I leaned back to dodge, "Whoa, I guess we're starting."

The Reaper attacked again and again. Swaying my head right and left, I swiftly evaded each strike. Dodging, dodging, and more dodging. That's really all I did. I jumped around the field next to the lake as the Reaper continued her pursuit.

Not bad actually. I could sense experience in her fighting style.

"Scratch him," The Reaper ordered as parts of her shadow jacket extended outwards and dug into the ground.

Beneath my feet, spikes made of shadows protruded from the ground. I jumped around as if I was playing hopscotch with them.

All of that turned out to be a distraction as the Reaper took the opportunity to get closer and swing her scythe at me. Not bad at all. My body automatically shifted to the side, leaving behind several afterimages of myself which the Reaper hit instead.

At that moment, there was a slight pause to the battle as the Reaper commented, "The Summoner can't do that."

I grinned, "No. No she can't."

A twisted smile took over her face as she ordered her jacket, "Drink my blood."

Part of her jacket wrapped around her body which caused her body to start twitching and convulsing.

My grin disappeared as I noticed something about her condition, "Wait, are you injured?"

"None of your business."

She was definitely still recovering from past injuries. If I had known that earlier, I wouldn't have encourage this fight. Too late, the Reaper was already charging her next attack.

I'll just have to knock her out.

With my hands still behind my back, I stomped my foot on the ground which caused a bright silver light to engulf my entire leg.

"What kind of skill tree is that?" She asked.

"Hehe, I ain't telling you."

We both dashed towards each other. The Reaper swung her scythe as I swung my leg.

Death Swing!

Kick of The Iron Knight!

CRASH!

A bolt of lightning came crashing down directly between us right before our attacks were about to collide.

Within the smoke that the lightning had created, I felt someone grab my leg and lift me upside down.

I also heard the sound of the Reaper's scythe hitting the ground.

Once the smoke had cleared, everyone saw who had interfered.

She had the same face as those Lily fakes and her clothing reminded me of what the Sage was wearing, "Ahh, so you must the Samurai that I've heard so much about."

The Samurai's right hand was holding up the Reaper by her neck while her left hand was lifting me up in the air by my leg. I could already feel the blood rushing to my head.

The Samurai first looked to her right side, "Oh dear Reaper, look at yourself, you've reopened your wounds."

Yukari avoided eye contact, "I was dealing with a pressing matter."

"A matter that I will take care of now," replied the Samurai, "it's important that you go back and have our healers take a look at you condition as soon as possible. Scout, can you please carry her back inside?"

Appearing out of nowhere, was a man wearing a green cloak that hid his face. Was he always there?

The Scout picked up the Reaper and starting walking back to the village with her. The Samurai turned to face Cleric, "It's a shame that all your hard work went to waste like that but could you please continue to treat her?"

Cleric proudly gave the Samurai a tiny salute before he followed after the Scout.

"Thank you Cleric. Now... as for you, stranger," The Samurai's full attention was on me now, "I have several questions to ask you."

I chuckled nervously at her, "Well, as much as I would love to stay back and chat, my time is up unfortunately, so I'll be taking my leave now."

The Reaper yelled at me from a distance, 'And don't ever come back!"

"Oh don't worry... I'll be back." I laughed.

"If you are leaving, what's going to happen to our Summoner friend whom you seemed to have possessed?" Asked the Samurai.

"Oh she'll be back in the morning, don't worry about her," I explained, "Sorry about the Reaper by the way, I didn't mean for that to happen."

The Samurai eyed me carefully, "Who are you, stranger?"

"I'm just a humble knight who wanted to visit, ma'am." I tried saluting her like Cleric did but with my upside down head becoming dizzy, I may have placed my hand on the wrong part of my face.

"I see..." The Samurai kept staring at me as if trying to figure something out in her head, she clearly had more questions to ask but held back them back, "Well... I can't speak for the Summoner but do let us know if you visit again. I am more than happy to chat, however, any more fights like that and I may not treat you so nicely next time."

"Okie dokie," Whoever this woman was, she was definitely not someone I should mess with. A sleepy yawn escaped my mouth as I waved goodbye, "Bye bye Alfred! Take good care of the Summoner, okay?"

Alfred nodding his head was the last thing I saw before I completely blacked out.

...

-I-I-I-I-

My awakening was greeted by an adorable sight.

My two little knights, Alfred and Cleric were looking down at me.

They must've been waiting for me to wake up because as soon as they saw me open my eyes, they gave my cheeks a bear hug. Slightly confused but tired, I gently rubbed both of their helmets.

Alfred I could understand but Cleric usually went out by now.

My roommate Lily3209 slowly got up with a sleepy yawn.

"Morning Lily," I said before yawning myself. This morning felt unusually tiring for some reason.

"Good morning Summon..." She paused and looked at me. She then gasped as the morning fatigue was instantly slapped out of her system, "SUMMONER!"

"Y-yeah?" Now this was very odd.

My roommate placed her hands on my shoulders which futhur cornered me, "You're back!"

"What do you mean?"

"Oh sorry, it makes sense that you wouldn't know. Umm, so basically, you got possessed yesterday."

My brain had to spin a few cogs in order to fully comprehend what she just said, "What?"

"Yeah! It was really weird! Everyone thought you were just acting but then the Samurai told us that you got possessed by someone."

I looked at my knights for confirmation and they both nodded their heads. If this was true, they were acting surprisingly nonchalant about it. I've never had so many questions to ask in a single moment.

"Speaking of which, the Samurai told me to tell you to go meet her at the Reaper's hut after you wake up."

...

-I-I-I-I-

The Reaper's condition looked worst than before somehow.

Inside the hut were the Reaper, the Sage, the Samurai and Eve9654. They were all eating breakfast and they even prepared food and water for my knights and I.

When I entered and said my greetings, they all seemed incredibly relieved.

"Good to have you back, Summoner." Said Eve. This only gave me more questions.

"So what happened exactly?" I asked.

After combining all of their accounts, they told me everything that happened yesterday including the fight that the Reaper got into which would explain her current condition. Her old wounds must've re-opened during the battle.

Safe to say, I was very baffled by the news. I found myself experiencing second hand embarrassment after hearing some of the things that this mysterious 'humble knight" said with my body. I often apologised on his behalf out of habit.

Although, I still wasn't sure how I was suppose to feel about someone taking over my body without my permission. At the very least, I was relieved to hear that whoever possessed me wasn't a hostile entity.

They did their best answering every question I would reasonably have but some questions were still left unanswered.

"So how exactly can something like this happen in the first place?"

At that exact moment, every single person in the room silently turned their heads towards the Samurai for answers.

The Samurai chuckled, "I do not have to answer to every question, you know..."

We all continued to stare at her.

"However... But there is a popular theory that might explain this incident..." The Samurai continued, "A common discussion that many people like to discuss is the topic of 'are skill trees sentient or not.' Are the skill trees part of a mindless system or are they sentient beings that watch over our lives? I'm sure each of you have also wondered about this, correct?"

We all nodded.

"Well, a secondary theory spawned from that particular discussion. Many people have theorise that maybe...each skill tree... contains a soul. The soul of the skill tree's former user."

The Sage shivered while Cleric clung to my hand as this was beginning to sound like a ghost story.

"So then... the person who possessed me yesterday... may have been the previous owner of the summoner skill tree that I'm currently using?" I asked.

"Hmm... let us not jump to that conclusion, just yet. It's called a "theory" for a reason. So far there have been no recorded accounts of a skill tree ever coming back to another person after it dies with the original owner. Many people have "allegedly" claimed to have the same skill tree that their grandparents/ancestors used to have. I say "allegedly" because most of those claims were either never confirmed or it turned out to be a misunderstanding since some skill trees can show many similarities..."

"Do you have any kick attacks?" The Reaper asked me.

"No, I don't think so." I answered.

We all gave it some thought. It seemed like all we could now was just speculate from here.

"It could've just been some random dude with a skill that could possess people." The Reaper suggested with a shrug.

"Maybe it was the ghost of someone who died here." Said the Sage with shaky words. She seemed to be scaring herself even more.

Alfred said it might've been a goblin which did make everyone laugh.

"By the way, he said he'll be back," said the Reaper, "what do we do when that happens?"

"You won't be fighting him, that's for the sure," Eve said while glaring at the Reaper. Apparently the Reaper received another angry lecture from Eve this morning for her reckless behaviour which I thankfully missed.

"I am hoping to get more answers out of him when he returns but we will cross that bride when we get to it," The Samurai then concluded, "For now... let us finish our food and rest."

...

-I-I-I-I-

...

"Wait hang on, how did you know the person possessing me was a male?"

"We asked your knights and they nodded yes."

When I asked Alfred about how he could tell, he just shrugged and said he "just knew".

...

-I-I-I-I-

...

The Reaper laid there, whistling a random tune as she tried to avoid eye contact with the Sage and Cleric. Both healers were sitting by her side, arms crossed and looking down at her.

"So ahh..." The Reaper awkwardly scratched her hair, "you said I'll fully recover in a week, right?"

"Cleric said one month..." Said the Sage. She had the words 'you had it coming' written all over her smile, "mi-ni-mum."

The Reaper groaned as she cursed the humble knight's entire existence.

...

-I-I-I-I-

...

The humble knight laughed as he could sense someone cursing his entire existence.

End Chapter

...

...

A/N Next chapter won't be coming out any time soon since I'll be occupied with studies.

Wow, I really need to write shorter chapters more often XDD. That only took under a week to write. Almost forgot how that felt.

Quick question about POV that I'm interested to hear what your opinion is: did the first person writing fit well with the plot of this chapter? Was it too confusing?

The more I write and plan this story, the more I realised that maybe I should've written this in the third person's perspective. Maybe. I'm really sure. I mean the Samurai's entire backstory was 'technically' written in third person. I choose to write in first person on a whim cause I didn't want readers to get mixed up between the main character and the other Arias. Do you think the first person writing has been fine so far? Would it be a bad move to suddenly switch to third person or should I just commit to first person? I know switching POV out of nowhere is a bad idea for the most part and very unprofessional for good reason, but if I do switch POV, I really don't want to go back and change everything. I am thinking that perhaps it would be best to just stick to first person but I'm interested to see what you guys think.

If you're reading this, thank you so much for reading this far. Hope you enjoyed. Once again the next chapter will take a while to write as I will be focusing on other life things. If anyone wants to monitor the progress of future chapters, you can join my discord to see that. Server is pretty dead so you're more than welcomed to just lurk. Anyways, thanks for reading again, till next time!
