"I love you," she whispered into her pink cell phone. Nothing but music and the rustle of paper returned what she thought was an open and honest expression. "Did you hear me?" she paused. "I said I love you."

"I don't wanna talk about it" Jacob sighed "I'm coming to grab my stuff and I'm leaving tonight and going to sleep over at Mike's"

"Can you still drive?"

"Of course I can, I'm getting in my car right now"

"Okay" Annika said softly "See you soon I guess"

 Annika put her phone under her pillow and buried her head on her hands, sobbing. Wiping away her tears she rolled onto Jacob's side of the bed, the  bed sheets still smelled like him. She dragged herself out of the bed, stumbling with the first few steps and started grab his stuff, one by one, and placed it in his backpack. After grabbing each belonging it felt as if pieces of her heart were shattering. She stopped at their picture frame, both of them mid laugh on the beach shore, looking at the picture from a time when things were better

"What happened to us?" she pondered

She couldn't make herself keep going, sighing she picked up a paper and wrote a note and tucked it in the pocket of his favorite hoodie. Annika, putting on some warmer clothes, left the apartment and knocked next door.

"Just a minute," came from the door as it flew open "Heeeey, oh my God Annika you look horrible"

"Can I crash here tonight?" Annika murmured "I just need to get away for tonight"

"Come on in babe, is it Jacob?" Emma asked

"Yeah he's leaving tonight and going over at mike's and I just can't stay in that empty room" she whined as she gave a shy smile and walked in.

"I'm making root beer floats want one?"

"No, I'm fine"

"Now I know something is definitely wrong" Emma teased as she sat down and slurped the foam in her cup "Wanna talk about it?"

"I just don't what to do, I know I'm innocent but I still feel guilty for some reason"

"Why won't he believe you, I mean obviously he can understand Dan forced himself on you and you didn't mean to kiss him"

"Yeah but Olivia keeps telling him otherwise because she 'was there and saw everything' and you know how much he trusts her"

"That bitch I swear, why does he even hang out with that snake anyway?"

"They've been friends for like ages, so they have always been close" Annika looked down and tucked herself in her hoodie "I just don't know what to do anymore"

"Hey it's gonna be okay, he'll figure it out" Emma consoled her

"I just wish we could just forget this all happened and just start over you know? clean slate"

"You need some sleep," Emma said as she grabbed her shoulders "Come on let's go"

"I'm just gonna sleep here on the couch"

"Alright let me bring you a blanket"

As Emma walked back in the room with a blanket Annika was sleeping having her knees tucked inside her hoodie, she put the blanket on top of her and went to bed herself.
