One moment Evan was laying in that grassy plane and then the next second he had a spike through his head. He had laid down closed his eyes and then the unbelievable sharp pain lanced through this forehead.
He had to be dead. This had to be death. Except it was unlike how he thought it was supposed to go, life flashing before his eyes followed by a never ending black void. Heaven? Hell? Maybe he would just stop existing. He didn't know for sure but most certainly he didn't expect for his entire body to sear from the inside out.
He felt an icy cold so strong that it felt as if his entire existence was fire. He was the embodiment of flame. Pain that wracked every inch of his body. And that is when he heard a voice.
"Momentous Death Achieved." The monotone almost robotic voice rang throughout his perception.
"Upgrade commencing." The voice continued. "Due to the nature of your multiversal origin, you have been granted access to the [redacted] of the Immortal [pending]."
"I'm sorry what?" Evan said as his body began to melt into the ground around him. He was frothing and boiling; a black vicious ooze that smoked as it bled into the ground.
"For meeting achievement, Momentous Death, user, Evan of the [redacted] of the Immortal [pending], has been granted level 1 in resilience to death." The voice continued uncaring. As if a file were corrupted, each time the voice said redacted or pending the words themselves seem to distort.
"User Status now accessible. Mission parameters assigned by Edgar of the Lost Warlock. Updating mission log. Updating primary objectives. New objectives found.

Does User, Evan of the..."
"I get it, I get it," Evan said hurriedly. "Just please stop repeating that random title."
"Does User..." the voice said. There was an exaggerated pause before it continued. "Accept the mission set forth by Edgar of the Lost Warlock?"
"I already said." Evan said.
"Does User, Evan of the..." The voice began to repeat itself a third time.
"Yes! Yes!" Evan said interrupting. "I accepted the mission before I even came here. Jeez"
No reply came. Moments passed and Evan realized he was surrounded by complete darkness. It felt cold for a bit longer and then he could feel an external heat and pressure he had never felt before. Slowly without realizing it he had continued to drift deeper and deeper into the planet.
Around him the world became searing. He felt as if he was melting and being reforged like a blade in a blacksmiths. He could hear a slow rhythmic pulse that emanated from the magma beneath him. It was painful.
It was what he imagined being trapped inside of a burning building, or being burned alive at the stake. How he imagined sinking to the bottom of the ocean, if that ocean were made of rock and magma. But for some reason he would not die. He was no longer a being of flesh and blood. Yet, he could still feel the pain of pressure and the heat. He felt himself oozing deeper and deeper into the planets core.

Something was speaking to him. It wasn't necessarily the robotic voice from before but it was similar. This one more feminine in nature.
"User Status information now available." The voice continued. "Status information updating.

It was a lot for Evan to process. First of all what is the deal with all of the redacted. Was the dark God the wizard Edgoo had mentioned the same as the Dark land beneath the God? And what does title rejected mean? Not to mention resilience of death? Had he actually died?
As these changes happened, Evan could feel the pressure and heat from the world bearing down on him reducing to a mild throb at the back of his mind. He could perceive more of the world around him. There was a soft glow from all around as the hot materials seemed to cover his entire black mass of gooey being.
"Its redacted because it's redacted. Technically, yes. Title rejected is because the system can't find a compatible title within this instance. Don't know yet. Oh, and Very much so yes." A feminine voice filled his ears. Or rather where he thought his ears were. It was kind of hard with his body now consisting of black massy goo.
"Hi it's nice to meet you. I'm," A picture of an upside down smiley face appeared in his mind in place of the name. "But since there isn't a way to translate succinctly this concept into your language just call me Elims."
"Who, who are you?" Evan said within his mind; as he was non-corporeal in at this point. He heard the Elims deeply exhale before speaking after a brief pause.
"Edgoo, as you called him, refers to this." A concept filled his mind. It was the impression of the upside down smile gesturing madly around at the core of the planet around him. "As Dark god." Elims said.
"While technically that isn't far off, this place isn't evil like that name implies. Although, technically, it could be considered dark. Though I wouldn't know that given I don't actually have eyes. But hijacking off your weird perception at the moment I can attest it's quite dark down here." Elims said. "Edgoo, god I love that name for him. Has been alive for centuries at this point. He isn't a wizard but rather a warlock. He's desperately trying to reclaim his throne over the southern continent of this world since well before you were born I'd imagine."
In his mind the upside down face gave him a very deliberate stare.
"You are kind of taking this a little, I don't know, calmy?" It bobbed up and down eyes never failing to pierce through him. I mean it was staring inside his mind after all.
"I've read a lot of fiction, seen shows. Its insane dont get me wrong. But it's kind the of stuff I've already seen to some capacity. I mean this is the first I've heard of this specific set of events, but they aren't far from other stories." Evan replied.
"Well then..." Emils said sounding more defeated than they looked. "Off we go?"
"I mean I would like to get started. But I've never been in this situation before how do I even get back up there?." Evan replied.
"Oh that parts easy, silly. You just do what you did to get down here in reverse." Emils said. The upside down smiley face inside of his head had smug look on her face. It seemed to indicate that this sort of problem was as routine as they come. To Evan however, that was definitely not the case.
