Announcement

Hello, it's been a while. First of all I wanted to apologize for essentially dropping off the internet for the past two months. A lot of things have happened in my personal life that have completely consumed my time and left me very emotionally and mentally drained. Thankfully things have calmed down again.

I don't want to waste more of anyone's time, so I'll cut to the chase. Ignite the Ashes will remain on hiatus for now. After all the stuff that happened, I realized that I'm currently not in the headspace to write this story right now. That, and I've done a lot of reflecting on my writing process, and I've found myself increasingly dissatisfied with this story's execution.

Prior to publishing this story on Royal Road, I'd written and rewritten those intro facility chapters multiple times, and I think that reflects in their quality when compared to the other chapters. In contrast, future chapters are a lot rougher and more disjointed. I've come to realize that I'm just not very good at writing and publishing chapter by chapter, at least not for stories of this type. It's been a learning process, and it's left me with a lot of takeaways for things that I can improve on in the future for both this story and the other stories I'm currently working on.

Did you know this story is from Royal Road? Read the official version for free and support the author.

So what does this mean for the future? I do plan to finish the current arc of Ignite the Ashes eventually, which would also be the end of the first book. As for what happens after that, I'm not sure whether I'll rewrite or push through and simply implement changes to my writing process starting from the second volume onwards. I'll have to see.

For now, though I can't promise when it will be, I can guarantee that I will post the conclusion of this arc someday. Until then, this story will remain on indefinite hiatus.

Once again, I'm sorry for the abrupt pause. Thank you so much for reading along! Your support has meant the world to me.
