Chapter 15: The Borderline II

Chapter 15: The Borderline II

*

2nd Night. **Kingdom's borderline, Smaol Village.

Minor Beast Forest.

Inside the Minor Beast Forest, a figure stood majestically standing on the center. It's eyes radiated with an unparalleled arrogance, as if holding the whole world in contempt.

It was actually just Rui Wei, looking at the damages that the two 6th rank beasts incurred on the Minor Beast Forest.

-- (back to Rui Wei)

I stare at the broken trees, and the dry bloods which splintered everywhere. Some trees were perfectly cut into three stripes, while the some parts of the grounds were slightly deformed...

But....the fight between 6th rank beasts are surprisingly... not that disastrous? I imagined at least half of the mountain to be blown up, or large craters here and there. But there were only broken trees, large scratches from their wind blades and slight bumps on the ground, due to their mass being too big.

'Ah, now that I think about it, they only used one magic attack, Wind Blade. They were wind type beasts afterall.. But, even on beasts cultivating two elements is rare.'

This morning there was a ruckus due to the fierce fight between the 6th rank monsters. As  the malicious roars sent shivers to the townspeople, and the cries of the 6th rank Cloud Leopard as it conceded were all clearly transmitted down the mountain. Unfortunately, the cowardly villagers made several excuses, and alliviated themselves, saying that it was a normal occurrence for fights to break out, and beasts roaring would be heard almost daily.

---

The Cloud Leopard's body was nowhere to be found. As expected. It wasn't dead.

Although the Wind Deer indeed dealt a fatal blow to the Cloud Leopard, that Cloud Leopard's body had a fast regeneration speed visible on my eyes. That was why I ran before it could gain it's strength to trample me, a mere mortal on 4th rank.

Well, now that the two bosses are slowly recuperating on their bases. I will take this chance to test my strength! Or so I say... But.

Sweeping my eyes on the forest, Spirit Beasts were still hiding deep in the forest. There are no guarantee that only two 6th rank beasts reside here, there might be a higher ranked beasts deep on the forest.

----

I aimlessly walked inside the forest, entrailled by the beautiful atmosphere, No.

It's creepy as fuck! The thick leaves of tree's were blocking most of the moonlight, so it's really dark, paired with the rustling sounds of the dried leaves, and the crunching sound everytime I take a step.

I took a deep breath and concentrated the Qi--

*Fwiiish* *Fwiiish*

I released multiple small daggers made out of Ice, and targeted the tree which is several meters away from me.

*thunk* * clank* *thunk**thunk*

All of the condensed Ice Dagger hit the targeted tree without fail. I flipped my fingers, calling upon the daggers which were made of ice.

After gaining my confidence back, I caressed the cold daggers on my hand.

And spread my spiritual sense. My senses immediately caught 3 targets a 2nd rank Wild boar, Fire Rabbit, and a poisonous snake. Ha... Finally, either brave or naive beasts were willing to come out.

I stretched my hands and focused the Qi on my feet. While dashing through the woods, I adjusted my eyes and gripped the daggers on my hand as I prepared to throw it on the Wild boar.

'There!' I quickly thow the dagger enhanced with my Qi.

'Kiiii---'

"Eeeeak!" The boar managed to spout a squeal but soon fell down and convulsed, after a moment it stopped moving.

I waited a few minutes before getting closer to the corpse. After confirming that the boar is dead, I took out the dagger and started to skin it--

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

'Why the hell is it so hard?' I enhanced the dagger with Qi-- and..

'Kriiik---'

The boar's skin totally ripped apart.

"Humu-- I have no self control..." I already knew that I have little self-control on my strength--  I thought this thing was already in the past, As I've been fluently controlling the water Qi ever since I transmigrated.

Ah, let me explain. There are 3 ways to cultivate, and that is Absorbing the natural Qi, tempering one's body, and the devil's way, that have a quite weird requirement to cultivate.

People who focus on tempering their body are called Martial Artists.

Absorbing the Elemental Qi and controlling it one's will, they are ranked by the spell that they could use. These people are called Mages.

Supposedly it is really hard for a mage to control the elemental Qi, that is quite weird as I've been controlling it with ease. Am I perhaps a genius?!

And there's the  forbidden arts which is absorbing the Dark Qi. The requirements for cultivating the dark arts is, either succumb yourself to sinful things, or simply know what true hatred is.

**

The full moon illuminated the Minor Mountain Beasts, making it look like an ethereal place, A shadow of a lady slowly walked out from the trees, her azure hair fluttered as she take a step.

The temperature immediately went down, leaving a trail of frosty atmosphere.

I took a deep breath as I continue to chant inside my head.

'I've practiced this... It's only a few meters-- Even If I fall there won't be any serious injuries--' I gathered all my courage and jumped down the cliff.

'AAAAAAAhh!!' internal screaming

Water Qi surrounded my body like a shield, and I also guided water on my feet to strengthen it, in case of an unexpected event where I'll fail.

'fuuuu'

As my heart was beating fast, and the Qi within my feet were already dense enough to support a fall, my body lightly descended on the ground. After feeling the ground on my feet, I couldn;t help but smille foolishly, that was scary.

'Hahahahhah!!' At this time I really wanted to shout loudly and laugh at the same time! This is what you call a Fantasy world!! Fufu--- Fuhahahha!!

The skill that I have just used right now is called 'Wind Feather' it is a skill used by the Air mages, that was why I was so damn nervous earlier, I wasn't sure if that skill would really work, although I've practiced it before.

The 'Air Feather' mechanism's worked just the same, using the Qi to lighten up one's weight, making the person using it seem weightless. Then your falling body would naturally slow down it's momentum.

I spent almost the whole night on the forest and only came back on the inn when the Sun has started to rise.

***

I put both of my hands on my face. After Waking up, more like, after I came back, Aunt Eshma had timely knocked on the door inviting me to a breakfast. I didn't refuse the offer since it'd be quite rude if I did so, and here I naively thought that having connections wouldn't be so bad.

Really me? What kind of benefits would you get in a connection towards a villager who's a completely normal mortal?!

"Ah, that's right, Wu Lei come here don't be shy..." The middle aged woman beckoned Wu Lei, her daughter to come on over our sit.

The middle-aged woman is Eshma, and she is trying to pair me to her daughter Wu Lei. I looked at the Wu Lei youth, she is around 16-17, and her mother Eshma was greatly worried because Wu Lei hadn't showed any interest on the opposite sex, before I showed up.

A/n: Rui wei is curentlty disguised as a red haired youth.

"M, Mother!!" Wu Lei embarrassingly called out to her mother as she refused to come closer to us.

Eshma thinks that I'm some kind of traveler and Sona is just my servant. Ah, I have also hid Ruzi when we came here. Wouldn't it be quite suspicious since the 2nd young Master of the Dou Manor just disappeared, then suddenly a child the same age as the missing young master suddenly shows up in the borderline? And if they tracked our carriage they'll immediately know that we came from the capital. It'll definitely light the fire of suspicion to the heart of that King. Oh, and the search for Ruzi is still ongoing, from what I know, Steward Li is personally leading the group to find Ruzi's whereabouts.

"....."

"Ara, ra... This child." Eshma have this kind aunty-next door atmoshpere around her, when in fact, she's just interested on my looks. I specially picked this face and structure because it was quite common on the capital, but I had a tad bit of a miscalculation-- Most people on the countryside are a bit lacking.... Not just in cultivation levels, but also in looks!

"Aunt Eshma, I still have to make preparations for my upcoming travel, so please excuse me... " I smiled a little, and Aunt Eshma actually blushed along with the Wu Lei girl....

My goodness... Aunt-- You're already... A bit too old, yeah? I could feel a cold sweat trickle down on my back, and I swiftly left the mother-daughter pair before they could reply to restrain me.

--

'Fuu... That was annoying.'

I entered the room, and saw Ruzi who is struggling on holding a spoon. His small hands trembled as he tried his best to put the spoon on his mouth, beside him Sona is at loss at what to do, her hand shifted her and there, trying to support Ruzi.

"Pff-- Sona what are you doing?" I said as I came closer.

"Ah-- Young Mist-- Master! Young Master Ruzi wanted to learn how to hold a spoon but--" Sona didn't need to explain anything, as she just pointed Ruzi who's stubbornly holding the spoon. Ruzi looked like he was fighting a life and death battle, as he push the spoon on his mouth.

After putting the food on his mouth he looked at Sona, then he saw me who is behind Sona. I wave my hand, whereas Ruzi excitedly throw the spoon and quickly crawl towards me.

'Kyaaah! Ruzi, are you perhaps the epitome of cuteness!' I could feel that the stress that the mother-daughter pair gave me completely disappear. Haa-- I don't really find kids that cute, especially back on my former life,  kids were kind of my mortal enemy-- but Ruzi is an exception.

I thought as I kissed Ruzi's chubby cheeks.
