Second chance

October 5, 2023.

My name is Astra Solari, a 15-year-old boy, currently attending junior high school. But now, I find myself disoriented, unsure of where I am or who I am. Despite this confusion, fragments of memories remain. It was on a serene evening when I strolled along the roadside. Suddenly, a piercing car horn shattered the tranquility, seemingly directed right at me. Instinctively, I turned around, my gaze met by blinding light. As a tragic event unfolded, a figure emerged, floating.

Now, here I am, questioning myself, "Wait, what just happened?" I ponder in confusion. "I remember walking, then a sudden light, but what came next?" I strive to recollect every detail, yet my mind replays only the place I once called home. I persist in trying to remember, but all efforts prove futile. Eventually, I surrender, closing my eyes, hoping for something to transpire. However, years turn into decades, decades into centuries, and centuries into millennia. The figure drifts endlessly through the vast expanse of the universe, traversing alongside celestial bodies. Witnessing the birth and demise of planets, encountering black holes and ethereal nebulae, I observe everything that exists.

"How long has it been?" I question myself. "How much time have I spent here? I yearn to escape this torpor and feel alive once more!" I cry out. "ANYONE! PLEASE, SOMEONE! LET ME EXPERIENCE LIFE AGAIN!" I persistently shout, demanding the existence I deserve.

Suddenly, a small blue light materializes, delicately approaching the figure. Astonished, I gaze upon it. Gradually expanding, the light takes on a female form. The figure speaks, "MY CHILD, YOUR DESIRE TO LIVE WILL BE GRANTED, BUT ONE CONDITION REMAINS: YOU MUST REFRAIN FROM CONTACTING ANY LIVING BEINGS IN THIS WORLD." I respond, "Is that all? I accept your condition without hesitation."

"THEN IT IS DECIDED, ASTRA SOLARI, YOU SHALL BE TRANSMIGRATED INTO THE WORLD OF PRIMORA. LIVE TO THE FULLEST. FAREWELL." As soon as the woman concludes speaking, she vanishes, along with the blue light.

In front of me, a luminous tunnel materializes. Now remembering my name, Astra, I am surprised. However, there is no time for contemplation. I cease my pondering and sprint into the tunnel. As I run, fleeting glimpses of my past life flash before me. Deeper and deeper I venture, until finally, I reach the tunnel's end. Standing there, I attempt to process it all, but ultimately, Astra weeps, "How tragic my life was, cut short at such a tender age. Now, I shall seize every moment and nothing shall hinder me!"

Astra found himself standing in front of a radiant circle of light, which emitted an ethereal presence. Perplexed, Astra questioned, "Child of the cosmos? Who, me?" The luminous being confirmed, "Yes, you are the child of the cosmos, but there is little time to explain. Hurry, walk and thrive in this world." An intrigued Astra retorted, "But didn't you say there would be questions? If you won't ask, I have some for you." The light grew anxious and urged, "There's no time for that. Hurry, jump across me." Astra agreed, leaped through the light, and as he did, he heard a final whisper, "Live well, child."

*Swishh wind noise*

Regaining consciousness mid-fall, Astra let out a startled cry, "AHHHHHH!!!," bewildered by his predicament. Fearful of impending doom, he resorted to shouting in despair. But as the ground neared, hope flickered within Astra. Recalling a memory of a winged individual soaring through the skies, Astra invoked, "SKYGAZER SOARRR!" Though unfamiliar with the spell, Astra was surrounded by a vibrant green glow that slowed his descent. His disbelief at the realization was palpable. "What are these green lights? How am I flying?! I'M FLYING!!" Astra exalted in sheer joy, celebrating his survival.

Having narrowly cheated death, Astra found himself floating in mid-air. Lost in the moment, his mind focused solely on life itself. Before his eyes lay a breathtaking panorama—a kaleidoscopic sky, the babbling of the river, the melodic chorus of birds. Overwhelmed, Astra marveled at the enchanting world around him and wept, "How can the world be this beautiful?" Wiping away his tears, Astra declared emphatically, "THIS TIME, I WILL LIVE MY LIFE TO THE FULLEST!!!" He then gazed skyward and expressed gratitude, "I will cherish the second chance you've given me. Thank you for this life."
