Four days had passed since we left Nessy. I’m still trying to forget what happened that night.
When I’ve killed people, I’ve never felt guilt. For every person I’ve hurt, I’ve never regretted it, but seeing others get hurt affects me deeply. I think this has been with me since I was a child in the orphanage.
“Wait,” interrupting my thoughts, I hear a voice that seems to belong to a man.
“Wait… stop.” I saw a man following our cart on foot, running, but he already looked very exhausted.
I stopped the cart, and as the man saw me halt, he approached us, slowing down from running to walking...
“Thanks for stopping… water… do you have water?” What’s wrong with this guy? Did he chase us just for water, or does he want something else? I gave him some of the purified water from Nessy…
“Phew, thanks, I was dying of thirst.”
When I saw the man up close, he wore a strange outfit: a long jacket that exposed his bare chest, jeans, and a silver chain around his neck. But what stood out the most was his hat, which covered his eyes and was shaped like a face.
The man had terrible fashion sense…
“I introduce myself, I am Rockson, the immortal herald of Amber.”

The man said these words while striking a pose to show off his muscles. Neither my companions nor I said anything, and we continued our journey in the cart while that guy kept flexing his muscles.
…
The next day, we stopped by a river to fish.
With the help of the Dryad, we made some improvised fishing rods and caught many river fish. They weren’t very big, but we caught plenty. We seasoned them with salt and set them to cook over the campfire.
“So this is where you were, I’ve finally found you.” I heard those words while eating my grilled fish.
I saw that guy who calls himself the immortal herald, and he fainted as soon as he approached us. But we didn’t do anything—he passed out on his own.
When we heard his stomach growl, we knew he was starving. I approached with a fish, and the eyes of his hat lit up.
“Do you want food?”
“Yes, I do,” said Rockson.
“Perfect, you must promise to behave, and I’ll feed you.” Rockson stayed silent but replied:
“I won’t fall for your trap. I am the most powerful herald of Amber, the great immortal herald…”
I started eating the fish right in front of him. “This fish is so tasty, too bad you’re not hungry.”
…
“You win, sir.”
…
Rockson joined our campfire and ate some fish while crying.
“You really are a herald because I can sense an aura similar to Eurisia, but you don’t have the same aptitude as a powerful herald,” said Kharla.
Rockson replied, “Don’t compare me to that vulgar woman. I truly despise her, she always had Master Amber’s favor, but you’ll see, this time I will win, and I will become Amber’s most powerful herald, I, the great immortal herald.”
This guy is a lost cause. “Alright, keep your promise and behave. My companions and I have to go.”
We quickly got into the carriage and continued our journey...
...
"Wait, don’t go. Hand over the Dryad," shouted Rockson.
I continued my journey in the cart without looking back, making the horses run faster.
"Hey, don’t leave. Don’t be a coward, fight!"
I had no desire to deal with this guy. I decided to pretend I didn’t hear anything and kept moving forward. After a while, we stopped hearing Rockson's shouts. I just hoped he’d be okay and live a full life.
…
"I told you… to stop." Rockson threw an explosive orb at our cart.
Thanks to her beast-woman instincts, Chizze sensed the danger and, with a kick, sent the orb back to Rockson.
"Hey, bro, wait—"
BOOM.
It was a powerful explosion. If the blast from that orb had hit us, someone could have died. We stopped the cart due to the air blasts from the explosion.
"That idiot didn’t seem very strong, but if he has more tricks like this, he could be dangerous," I exclaimed.
"Don’t worry, master. I think Chizze killed him," Chizze replied, but I had a bad feeling.
"Hahaha, do you really think that would kill Rockson, the immortal herald?" That guy was literally in the middle of the explosion crater without a scratch.
I said, "Chizze, try to kill him." Without a word, Chizze used her claws and slashed open Rockson's abdomen.
"Bro, that hurts."
In the next second, his abdomen was healed.
"Rockson healed very quickly. Don’t you think that’s a bit strange? He must be an expert in healing magic."
Raiza told me. Without wasting time, I approached Rockson and placed my hands on his chest.
"Bro, that’s what they’re for, but you’re supposed to ask permission."
With a serious face, I said, "Degenerative Magic: CELL DESTRUCTION."
I used almost all my strength to destroy Rockson’s body from the inside, leaving his body like a mummy. I noticed the eyes on his hat glowing.
"Bro, that hurts, get away from me."

Rockson was back to normal in a second. His body was as good as new, but he ran away from me with tears on his face, though I couldn’t see his eyes.
"Okay, I get it, bro. I won’t bother you anymore. Please, just let me go."
I shouted, "Kharla, tell me what you think this guy’s power is."
Kharla had been observing the fight with her Sacred Perception.
"It’s just a theory, but I think Rockson is traveling through time, but only his body. All his accessories and clothes don’t come along, since I noticed his clothes have the effects of the explosion, but his body doesn’t. And I think the source of that power must be that ridiculous hat."
After hearing Kharla, I looked at Rockson with the gaze of a villain. I tried to rip off his ridiculous hat, but I think it was stuck to his skull, so I tried something else…
I touched Rockson’s cheek and said, "CELL DESTRUCTION."
I wanted to test my theory that I could use this guy as a replacement for Raiza to recover vitality, and it turned out I could, although I recovered less vitality compared to Raiza…
"Stop, please, it hurts too much." I looked at Rockson with a smile.
"You attacked us. That explosion could have hurt us badly, and you yourself said you were a herald of the Celestial King Amber."
"I lied, I'm not one of his four heralds. I'm just a failed experiment, but I thought if I could capture the Dryad, I would earn Amber's respect. But..."
The man named Rockson was crying, a sight so pathetic it wasn’t even funny—it was just sad.
"Chizze, bring some rope from the cart." I tied up Rockson’s hands and feet.
"Look, we're going to leave in peace, but if I ever see you again, I'll spend an entire day destroying your body until you wish you were dead." Rockson nodded, and we left him alone in the middle of nowhere as we continued our journey as if we had never met that clown.

Elsewhere in Dredprism, Eurisia was running at full speed, trying to track down Ester’s group, who were protecting the Dryad, her target. She arrived at a small town that had a circus set up just outside the city.
Eurisia didn’t want to get too close to the circus, as she also had a fear of clowns. She went directly to the market street, seeking information about a group of five people: a four-eyed priest, a tall woman with a helmet, a beast-woman, a white-haired girl with a large bust, and another albino girl with flowers in her hair...
Eurisia encountered a merchant who had made a bad investment. He had recently made good money selling his commercial cart but lost it all by investing in fool’s gold, as its price had been rising in the market.
At its highest point, the man had invested all his money in that gold and lost everything. What caught Eurisia's attention was that the man had sold his cart to a young priest who was accompanied by a white-haired woman with a large bust. He also mentioned that he believed he had seen the priest with a beast-woman at the circus and that on the same night he bought the cart, he had left town, heading toward Nessy.
Eurisia immediately ran out of the town, after buying a bit of the fool's gold from the merchant as a reward for the information, and fled quickly, fearing she might run into a clown.
She ran full speed toward Nessy.
Days later, she arrived at Nessy and found a refugee camp and some commercial carts outside the city.
It was complete chaos.
She approached a refugee and offered him a gold coin for any information about what had happened.
---------------
"Miss, I don't know exactly what happened, but I remember that as soon as night fell, a strange aura covered the city. I was home alone, and I had an overwhelming desire to eat; I had a large pantry full of food, and I devoured it. Even though I could hear the screams of my neighbors, I focused only on satisfying my hunger...
Until suddenly, everything stopped. With a full stomach, I went outside to see what had happened. I saw fires and many injured people...
I couldn’t understand what had occurred.
That same night, the military police arrived in the city after a call for help. They told us that demons had attacked the city, possessing people to create chaos.
Now, the officers are killing demons inside the city, but my best friend, whom I saw alive after the disaster, was executed because they determined he was possessed by a demon.
I know it was true... he killed his wife that night.
I thought the war with the Demon King wouldn't reach us... I was wrong."
--------------
With this new information, Eurisia deduced that it was the work of the Orb of Lust; in other words, it was indeed a demon attack, but the chaos was caused by the humans themselves.
Eurisia, bypassing the city’s security, entered the city of Nessy.
What she saw was an overwhelming sight…
Many bodies were gathered in the city center, with a large bonfire prepared to burn the corpses that were already decomposing, and soldiers preparing a mass grave for the dead. They were also constructing a monument for the victims.
"Wow, the military police sure work fast; it’s almost like they’re used to sweeping the trash under the rug," Eurisia muttered to herself.
Eurisia wasn’t interested in this disaster. She was only focused on her target and the people protecting it. From a distance, she noticed a soldier directing the other knights. He was exactly the type of man Eurisia liked most…
He had a perfectly square face, slightly long but elegant hair, the cold gaze of a warrior, and seemed very strong. Since Eurisia had been reprimanded by Amber, she had been under a lot of stress, and when she saw the soldier, she knew exactly how to relieve that stress…
…
Lieutenant Brikrats was managing damage control in the city of Nessy. While he was working, the soldiers around him suddenly collapsed to the ground. He didn’t understand whether they had fainted or if something else had happened... Brikrats was still full of surprise when he felt someone embracing him from behind.
"Hey, I like you a lot, that’s why I didn’t kill you," Brikrats reached for his sword with his right hand and attempted to attack Eurisia.
"Hey, don’t get mad, I didn’t actually kill them, I just put them to sleep… or at least, I think so. I’m not sure." Brikrats didn’t want to engage in conversation with Eurisia, as he was a man who trusted his instincts and could feel that this woman was strong.
"Hey, handsome, it’s rude to leave a lady talking to herself. Tell me your name." Brikrats thought about trying to get some information from her.
"You’re human; I’ve seen demons, and I know you’re not one, but your aura isn’t human either… you’re a herald." Eurisia quickly stole a kiss from Brikrats and whispered in his ear…
"I’m a herald of Amber, Eurisia the Scorpion. Now tell me your name…" Brikrats felt like he was going to die, and slowly, he said his name was Brikrats. "What a cute name," Eurisia said as she took Brikrats’ sword from him.
Eurisia snapped her fingers and conjured a dark, purple-tinted square where only the two of them remained. Brikrats was paralyzed with fear and could only stay still as Eurisia slowly undressed him…
As a soldier, Brikrats had been trained to endure the worst tortures. You could cut off all his fingers, and Brikrats wouldn’t even tell you the time. Yet, he never imagined that Herald Eurisia the Scorpion would be more interested in his body than in him as a soldier.
…
Once Eurisia had relieved her stress, she was getting dressed. When she finished, she released the spell that had kept them trapped.
"I almost forgot, before I leave, did you see a priest with glasses accompanied by a white-haired woman and a beast-woman?" Brikrats remained lying naked on the ground, staring at the sky without saying a word or moving a muscle…
Eurisia looked at him with a smile. "You look so cute maintaining your military discipline, but that tells me you know something. And, seeing how the disaster here was contained so quickly, those people must have been the ones who destroyed the Orb of Lust…"
"I feel sad, my heart; but it's time to say goodbye. I know we barely know each other, but I think I love you. Once I kill those idiots and that Dryad, I'll come back for you."
Eurisia said her farewell with a kiss on the lips, leaving the lieutenant naked amidst his unconscious soldiers.
…
After passing through Nessy and in a much better mood, Eurisia continued along the nearest road to the capital, as even for her, it would be impossible to enter the capital without being discovered. So, it was a race against time…
Then, Eurisia heard a man singing near a crater.
She saw a foolish man with a ridiculous hat, singing the most pitiful song about how great he was. Eurisia rushed toward him at full speed and kicked him, breaking his spine.
"Stupid idiot, what are you doing here?"
"Damn scorpion, that hurt." Eurisia began kicking him harder, repeatedly.
"My name is Eurisia, don’t forget it."
"Okay, okay, I get it, it’s Eurisia, not scorpion. Sorry, please stop hitting me. I'm immortal, but I still feel pain, please stop."
Eurisia broke the ropes that were binding Rockson and, with an angry look, said:
"Who tied you up, and why were you here, in this exact spot?" Eurisia was suspicious of how Rockson ended up exactly where the Dryad had likely passed.
"Eurisia, let’s make a deal. I have information that will help us meet Amber’s expectations. All I ask is that you tell the master to help me."
Eurisia frowned, annoyed, and not wanting to waste more time, she said, "I can't promise anything, but if what you say is useful, I'll tell Amber everything in my report."
Rockson got up from the ground with renewed energy and said:
"It’s a promise. Listen, I came across the team protecting the Dryad. The woman with the helmet seemed to be the leader. There was a powerful beast-woman, a white-haired woman with a large bust, but the priest in their group was terrifying. His magic destroys the body from the inside; he nearly killed me several times. Be careful if he touches you, he'll kill you and steal your energy."
Eurisia smiled and ordered Rockson to tell her which direction they went. Rockson pointed to the last place he had seen them, and Eurisia immediately rushed off at full speed in front of Rockson.
"Hey, don’t leave me here alone… well, she’s already gone, she can’t hear me… oh well… I suppose when Eurisia gets killed, there will be an opening among Amber’s four heralds… that could be a good opportunity for me…" Rockson muttered to himself as he watched Eurisia disappear into the distance.
