Chapter 8

"Your name... Is that really your name?"

Ryoka's black eyes stared at me intently.

She was just sitting there in her chair but her serious expression made me shake a little. I sighed at the thought of spending time being grilled by this girl when I could be enjoying a nice and warm meal right now. Guess I should make this quick then.

"Heh, figures... I knew that a person from our world would get suspicious immediately."

"Oho? So you are hiding your true identity. It's not that uncommon in this world, but..."

I approached her desk with a smug smile. After taking a seat, she leaned back in her chair and looked at me cautiously.

"Pendragon-san, this is just a way for me to be at ease. I can't just trust someone blindly even after they saved me."

"Yeah, yeah, I get it already. But you got to believe me, Arthur Pendragon is my real name."

I scratched my cheek while I said that.

Ryoka was taken aback by this. She was probably suspicious of me, I mean, I would too if I were in her shoes. I let out a heavy sigh while I scratched the back of my head.

"My full name is Arthur Pendragon McKinley. I am 16 and live in Oregon with my parents, my older sister, and my younger brother. My father's name is Eric McKinley and is a writer of fantasy novels and my mother's name is Nathalia McKinley. I-"

"Okay, okay! I got it! So you're two years younger than me... Wait, why Arthur Pendragon? Couldn't your parents choose a better name for you?"

Ryoka seems much more relaxed now. That's good. Although she still looked at me suspiciously.

"Yeah, blame my dad for that. I wanted a normal name as well like Charles or something."

"I-Is that so? Then would you prefer to be called McKin-"

"N-No, I'd prefer if you would call me Arthur. McKinley sounds pretty formal."

I shut her down before she could call me by that name.

"I-Is that so? W-Well... okay then. But there are also a handful of other people in this world that named themselves Arthur Pendragon."

I sighed at the thought of a bunch of guys running around playing around like some sort of hero. Knowing those kind of people, they're probably running around solving problems or some shit like that.

Well, fuck me I guess.

"W-Well, going back to the topic, I detected that you're not lying to me so that means I could at least trust you. Also, since I'm referring to you by your first name, you should also call me by my first name as well."

Ryoka breathed a sigh of relief as she eased her shoulders.

"Anyway, who did you meet before you got here?"

Ryoka asked me with a curious tone. Her slender fingers tucked away a strand of her silky hair behind her ear while she waited for my response. I looked at her for moment with a silent and blank stare, my thoughts going black at her words.

What did she mean by "meet"?

Wait... was I supposed to meet a god before coming here?

"A-Arthur-san? Are you ok? You look pale."

"No, I'm fine... Hold on a second, did something happened to you before going here?"

"Hmm? You did meet a god before going here, right?"

"......"

There was an awkward silence between us for a moment while I processed her question in my mind.

"N-No... I found myself in the middle of town right after I died."

"!"

Ryoka scratched her head, dumbfounded at my answer. Her mouth tried to form words but no sound left her lips. Finally, she found the words to blurt out at me.

"B-B-But you have a Divine Artifact with you! H-H-H-How could- Wait a minute... You found yourself in the middle of town after coming here?! W-Where did you e-even got that sword of yours!"

Ryoka blurted out those words in the span of a few seconds. I was surprised when she stretched out her arms over the table and grabbed me by the collar of my shirt. She had a furious expression on her face while she gritted her teeth in frustration.

"How could you have an easy start?! I was stuck in the forest for a week with only this monocle on me! H-How could you have such an easy start?! How?! How the hell did you even-"

"I-I don't know what you're talking about! Please let go of me! The only thing on me after I got here is a card from the gods!"

"A card?! Wait... Do you have the card? Does the card have her writing on it?!"

I shook my head from side to side as a response to her frantic question. After shaking me a few times, she finally lets go of me before she shot a glance towards my pockets.

"N-No... I left it on my uniform in the inn. Why?"

She was shaking now, her frustration was written all over her face.

"You... You... Show me your adventurer card, now!"

"Okay! Okay! No need to be so pushy!"

I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable around this girl. Her calm and cool demeanor from earlier is now gone. Still, she looked pretty cute so I'll give her a pass.

The moment I handed her my card, she immediately scanned the part where all of my skills are listed. Her eyes shot back and forth from me then back to the card, a look of disbelief can be seen from her black eyes.

"I-Impossible... You... You have her blessing..."

"Who? I have the like two goddesses ble-"

"Illyria! Illyria-sama has blessed you with her powers! Do you know how rare that is?!"

She shakily handed me the card back.

I have a bad feeling about this...

"Illyria is the goddess that sits behind her desk all day, right?"

Ryoka's only response was a nod.

"So... uhh, what is her blessing?"

"I-Illyria-sama's blessing is... strange..."

Ryoka placed a hand on her head while she stumbled backward to her seat. Her face is pale and drained of color as she looked up to the ceiling. She finally calmed herself down, although I could still see that she is clearly miffed at me.

"People with that kind of blessing are destined for great things... I've heard rumors like that from Ea-sama that people with her blessing gain tremendous power but..."

"Let me guess, not even Eahna knows about the specifics?"

"Yes. In fact, I don't think any of the people I have met have been blessed by her. Another thing that makes it hard for someone to get her blessing is that she doesn't really like people and being chosen by her means that you've basically been abandoned by your guardian."

"....."

"H-Hey, don't worry about it! I'm sure she's gonna look after you... I think."

Of course that is the case. That goddess is clearly just using her power for her own whims. It's probable, no, it might be the reason I wasn't even briefed on what's about to happen to me. She probably got too lazy to do it and just sent me that card. It's something she would definitely do.

So, I've basically been spirited away into another world and the person that was supposed to be looking after me just left me on my own. I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of that.

"Anyway, what's the gist of her blessing?"

Ryoka paused for a moment, her fingers twirled a strand of her long black hair while she sat in her chair thinking deeply.

"From what I've heard, it's basically a power that prevents the worst outcome? Something like that. Sorry, I don't really understand it either."

She spoke dejectedly before letting out a brief sigh.

"That's okay. Man, I sure wish I met someone after I died to explain all this to me. Where are the NPC's that provide expostion when you need them."

I chuckled as I shook my head in resignation. Ryoka let out a sigh as well.

"I'm lucky that I met Eahna-sama before coming to this world. Hey, did you know that we have three choices before going here? We either go here, go to Heaven, or reincarnate back on Earth! How crazy is that?"

"I didn't even have a choice. Anyways, what happened when you met Eahna?"

Ryoka smiled and tapped her monocle.

"I got this Divine Artifact right here. If you were able to meet with the gods, they actually let you choose what you want."

"And why the monocle?"

"It's stylish and lets me appraise anything I want. I can even tell if the person is lying with this thing."

I don't really know how that works but okay.

"Man... That's unfair. I wanted some over powered weapon."

Ryoka tilted her head to the side, her eyes filled with confusion as she looked at me.

"Oh? Isn't your sword a Divine Artifact? I could tell just from the craftsmanship alone that it's the Dwarf God's work."

"You mean Cutter? Sure, it's pretty great, but it drains too much of my mana when I fight with it. Besides, I'm not really a sword user when I play games. I'm more of a mage or an archer in my playstyle."

"Pfft! Seriously? You just took down that boss-type monster and you're complaining that you aren't a swordsman? You know what, nevermind. The real question is why did you name it "Cutter" of all things?"

"Because it cuts things. Besides, if I name my sword with something complicated it doesn't really sound cool. I'll look like those typical protagonists in anime."

"Y-You've got a point there, Arthur-san, but... Forget about it. It doesn't matter."

Ryoka let out a groan while she stowed away the papers on top of her desk into the drawer.

"Well, I don't really care what you do in this world. It's your second chance after all. Excuse me, I'll just open the windows to let in the fresh air."

"Sure no problem."

Ryoka stood up and stretched out her arms, the cloth around her chest firmly grasped onto her skin. It really brings out her... erm, goods. After a few more moments of that refreshing scene, she turned towards the window behind her and opened them, letting in the afternoon air.

The cool breeze and the warm hue made her look like a princess gazing out from her castle. Her black hair fluttered behind her as another gust of wind blew inside the room although this one is a bit stronger than the gentle breeze earlier.

"Eep!"

Ryoka squeaked out as she turned around to face me, her face flustered and red.

"D-Did you see it?"

"See wha-"

Just then, another gust of strong wind entered the room. Though it was hard to keep my eyes open due to the force of the wind, I glimpsed hat flash of black for a moment.

"Ah... I don't judge people's taste in clothes. Don't worry."

"S-Shut up! Jeez!"

Ryoka closed the windows with a loud slam. She let out a sigh before pouting her cheeks.

"I can't really blame you for seeing them since it was my mistake to open the windows, but please erase that memory from your-"

"Nope. I'll treasure that image forever."

"H-Hey! Arthur-san! That's not- That's sexual harrasment right there!"

"I was joking, a joke! Ahaha, I'll be going out now!"

"Arthur-san! Your worth as a person just dropped! I could tell that you're lying! Arthur-san! McKinley-san!"

"Fine, fine... Anyways, want to join us in the Adventurer's Guild? I won't tell anyone that you're a fan of black and lacy underwear if you treat us."

"W-What?! H-Hey! That's... That's..."

Ryoka was clutching her chest tightly in an effort to hide them from my gaze. There was disgust in her eyes while she covered her precious areas with her arms. She took a few steps back to put some distance betwen us.

"That's sexual harrassment right there! Zel-san! Jin-kun! Help! Help! Arthur-san is-"

"Okay! Okay! Stop, please! I was joking! I said I was-"

The doors behind me flew open and I was met with a fuming Jin and a confused Zel. It seems they heard Ryoka's cries from their room and rushed over here.

Needless to say, I had to spend the next few minutes apologizing to Ryoka on my knees.

----------------------------------------

The creaking of the carriage as it moved was both soothing and annoying to me. Still, it's a nice experience to ride a carriage since I've never rode one before. Miia and I were the only ones that were excited though, the others' reaction to this was perfectly normal and calm.

"Arthur-san, have you never rode a wagon before?"

Ryoka tilted her head to the side as she asked.

"Huh? Nah, never got the chance."

"M-Me too. My family didn't need to ride horses since we walk fast."

Miia and I looked out of the window as we approached the town walls. Ryoka's house, or rather a villa, was located at least 30 minutes away from Lorren and Ryoka offered to let us ride in her carriage as thanks for earlier.

Must be nice being that rich at her age.

"Riding in a carriage reminds me of the capital."

"Me too..."

Zel and Maria reminisced about something, smiles forming on their faces as they recalled memories of their past. Ryoka looked at the two of them with a smile as well.

"Ah, that's right! Zel-sama and Maria-san were from the capital! That reminds me, I have some items the two of you might be interested in!"

Ryoka pulled out a small bag from behind her and went through it. After a brief delay, she pulled out a familiar looking book from within the bag.

"Oh! You finally have it!"

Maria exclaimed in delight while the rest of us looked curiously at the book Ryoka was handing to the excited Archmage. I couldn't believe my eyes when I finally got a clear look at the cover of the damn book.

"Holy shit! How the hell did you get that?!"

"Oh, that's right. I forgot about you..."

The thing Ryoka was holding is undoubtedly a light novel from our world. The title is in Japanese, but I know the series due to the characters on the cover. Maria's pretty excited about the book while Jin looked at her like there was something wrong in her head.

"Maria, could you even read that thing? Isn't that book from Zipangu?"

"Hm? Oh, I could read it fairly well."

"No... That's not the point here..."

I interrupted them while I shakily pointed at the light novel Maria was currently holding.

"H-How on earth did you get that?!"

Everyone looked at me, confused and worried for me while I shifted my gaze at Ryoka. The girl flashed a sly smile and pressed a finger to her lips.

"It's a trade secret! Let's just say I had to use some connections to get my hands on this."

Ryoka giggled as I pondered about who she could be talking about. Of course, it's pretty clear which one of them who it is but I can't put my head around how she could have convinced that damn woman to do this.

"W-Wait, is this some illegal text? S-Should I be worried about-"

"N-No! It's nothing like that, Maria-san! Arthur-san here was just curious about how I acquired a rare book, that's all!"

"Oh, okay. That's a relief. Wait, a rare book? This is a rare book?! W-What about the other one? Magical Girl-"

"The Magical Girl Aiko series is pretty rare as well in this part of the world. Although, I have finished all 20 volumes of it. It's a pretty great series in my opinion."

Maria and Ryoka immediately looked at me while I petted Miia's fluffy hair. Maria had a look of disbelief on her face while Ryoka looked at me with joy and excitement. Her black eyes glimmered in glee as she immediately began to fire out a flurry of words from her mouth.

"S-Seriously?! Finally! Someone I could talk to about the Aiko x Hina ship! Arthur-san! Arthur-san! What did you think about the ending? It's great right?! Right?! The part where Hina finally confessed to Aiko under the bridge was perfect! Wait, don't tell me, you're an Aiko x Rin shipper?!"

"S-Slow down. You're making my head hurt."

"Oh, sorry. I got a little excited there..."

Ryoka shrunk away, her hair covering her embarrased face.

"S-Ship? What? Wait, did you just say you've read the 20th volume?! There's 15 more?!"

Maria blurted out with a curious and confused voice.

"Ah, right... Yeah, there's 15 more books in the series. Oh, and don't worry about "ships" and all of that."

"Y-Yes, that's right. We were just talking about Aiko's relationship with Hina. Don't worry about it!"

Yeah, it's really nothing to worry about. Besides, what matters is the enjoymen-

"Oh, Is that so? Well, I prefer Aiko and Rin since they have better chemistry in my opinion. Well, it's just my preference but oh well."

"... What?!" "Are you fucking kidding me?!"

Me and Ryoka immediately leapt up from our seats. Maria let out a surprised squeak as the two of us pressed against her.

"I'd forgive Maria-san since she haven't read volume 9 but still! Sure, the Aiko x Rin ship is cute, but the Hina is clearly the best girl in the series!"

"H-Hold on! What did you mean by "better chemistry"? Rin is a fucking tsundere! A tsundere! One of the most annoying tropes! There's a reason she lost to Hina and that's because she didn't confess to Aiko when she got the chance!"

While the three of us were stuck in our own little world, Jin let out a heavy sigh before shaking her head.

"This is gonna be a long ride."

Zel let out a chuckle while she warmly looked at us.

"Well, it is nice to see Ryoka like this again. It's a rare but pretty sight to see."

Her calm voice made Ryoka stop in the middle of her rant about how Rin blew her chance with Aiko with that failed date of hers. The girl blushed a little as she pouted.

"H-Hey! What do you mean by that? I'm always like this, you know? I just don't have the opportunity to act like this since I need to act proper for my company."

"Heh, that's the reason why you don't have a boyfriend."

Jin's sudden teasing made Ryoka blush profusely. Zel and Maria chuckled as well, but did their best to hide it.

"Ah! W-Well... erm... I just don't have a time for that! Besides, having those kinds of relationships at this point in my life will trouble me with my business."

"Business, business, business! That's all ya' ever talk about, you prude! All that money in your pocket and all that fat on your chest and you still don't have a man."

A cocky smile curled on Jin's lips while Ryoka's flustered stutters filled the carriage.

"W-What about you?! You don't even have a boyfriend! And what do you mean by fat? T-This are-"

"Why is it that when you two get in the same room, you always end up fighting?"

Zel broke up the two girls and calmed them down.

"Zel-sama! Zel-sama! Jin keeps bullying me because she's just jealous that I'm more developed than her!"

"Oi! I'm 4 years younger than you! I still have time for- Nevermind! What the hell are you saying?!"

"Illyria have mercy on my soul."

Zel muttered under her breath while she rubbed her temples. Maria and I let out a sigh as well while Jin and Ryoka continued fighting.

I'm also pretty sure I heard Jin throw out my name out of the blue, but I have no intention of joining that fight.

Zel couldn't stop the two from bickering with each other so she withdrew back to her seat and stared out of the window instead. And in the midst of all of this, Olivia was sleeping in her seat, drool dripping down her cheek while she snored heavily. Maria was reading her book in one corner of the carriage while I continued to pet Miia.

I've only known this people for a few days but I'm already feeling pretty sorry for Zel.

-Adventurer's Guild-

We finally arrived at the Adventurer's Guild and I've never felt more happy in my life to finally get out of that cramped box. Especially after Jin and Ryoka started throwing the idea that Ryoka and I did some shit in her room while we were alone earlier.

I did wish something happened between us, but nothing really came out of that situation beside that incident with her panties.

The cool air, the tavern and bar that reeked of booze, the loud adventurers that gathered in the lobby, it really felt like I was in some fantasy anime or game. I let out a deep breath as we sat down on our usual spot. A pint of ale would be great right now along with some chicken skin.

Everyone seemed to be celebrating the victory since the guild is louder than usual. Some people are more somber than others, a few were pouring a glass of beer onto the floor, and I could see a familiar dgroup laughing to themselves in a small corner of the guild.

Ryoka went to the reception desk to settle some business of hers while Olivia made a beeline towards the bar. Damn, that girl was snoring heavily earlier now she's as lively as ever.

"Jin, could you order something for me? Chicken would be nice."

Zel said before standing up from her chair. Jin gave her a nod before calling Trish over to our table.

"Where are you going, Miss Zel?"

Miia tilted her head curiously and Zel replied with a gentle smile.

"I'm just gonna claim the bounty for our party."

"Oh! In that case, let me come with you."

I immediately stood up from my seat and waked over towards Zel's side.

"Jin, keep an eye on Miia for me."

"Huh? Oh, sure. Hey Maria! Stop reading that book and help me braid Miia's hair!"

"A-Ah! Sure! Wait, we're in the guild already?"

Zel and I left the trio and made our way towards the reception desk. A few glances were thrown our way and a few cheers from some, but Zel only waved at them politely while I kept my gaze forward.

Sure, it's nice to have some cute girl wave at me like I'm a hero, but it doesn't feel right. If this place is like an RPG then this is just the first act of the story where after I defeat a boss, side quests start popping up everywhere.

I really don't want to go on any of that shit.

Seriously, why the hell do people even want to go around playing hero? Sure defeating the Demon Lord sounds nice, but I really don't want to be bothered everyday by people asking for help. Maybe it's a dream come true for some, but all I wanted to do in a fantasy world is-

"Oh! Zel and Arthur! You're here!"

My train of thought was interrupted when a familiar looking receptionist greeted us warmly. Zel greeted her in kind as well before handing her adventurer card.

"Elizabeth, I'd also be collecting the bounty for my party as well."

"Oh, of course! Do you have their adventurer cards with you?"

Zel handed over three more cards as well before pointing to me.

"Oh, that's right... Please register this man under my party as well."

The receptionist nodded before sliding the cards over the crystal device on the desk. It glowed brightly each time a card was swiped over it and I could see the characters on the card change shortly after.

After that was done, the receptionist handed the card back to Zel and brought out a small crystal ball.

"Well, according to the data on your cards, your group slayed a total of 87 undead. Arthur Pendragon is excluded since he wasn't registered in your party during the event."

Ah, so I've basically been tagging along with them all this time.

That sucks but I guess it's my fault too for not registering properly.

"I-Is that so? Well, I guess Arthur should-"

"Arthur? Wait, Arthur Pendragon?! Is that the Swordsman that defeated Nehuet the Dread?!"

A receptionist from the back shouted out as she ran towards us. Her frantic demeaonor set off a bunch of flags in my head as she immediately shuffled through the folded envelopes beneath the desk.

The brown haired lady had beads of sweat dripping down her face as she went throug the stacks of envelopes. Zel and I exchanged worried glances as we watched her pull out what looks to be an important looking envelope.

"S-Sir... Please take this letter and come with me to the Guild Master's office! Please forgive the lack of respect my subordinate showed to you! She is new here!"

The lady bowed her head and Elizabeth bowed her head as well. I scratched the back of my head and smiled.

Man, this is embarrassing. For me and for Elizabeth.

"Please raise your head. It's fine. Erm... What business does the Guild Master have with me?"

"R-Right! Erm, it is regarding private matters with you as well as your reward!"

The two raised their head immediately and the lady shoved the letter onto my hands.

Moments later, I found myself being pulled along by the lady towards a set of stairs at the back of the reception area. I glanced back at Zel before being spirited away by the lady beside me who was currently gripping my hand like a vice.

"Z-Zel, s-shall we continue our transaction?"

Elizabeth shakily asked Zel, who was spacing out with a blank expression.

"Right, I forgot about that. He killed Nehuet like he was nothing... right... right..."

"M-Miss Zel?! Zel! Please stay with us! Zel!"

"S-Sir, I brought him."

The lady spoke softly after knocking on a door. There was a slight tremble in her voice as she opened the door.

"Fihr-san, who did you- Oh."

Behind the door is a small office with a nice view of the town. There is a large table in the center with chairs surrounding it. A familiar black-haired girl was sitting on one side of the table and a young boy with rabbit ears was sitting on the other side.

The rabbit ears atop the boy's head stiffened up and he immediately stood up from his seat, starry eyed and excited. Ryoka on the other hand, was looking at me with a blank stare.

"Oh! Thank you, Cynthia. You may take your leave."

"O-Of course, sir!"

The lady that brought me here imemdiately bowed and left the room in a hurry, the door slamming behind her as the sound of her footsteps going down the flight of stairs broke the silence in the room.

Before I could process what just happened, the rabbit boy immediately leapt up from his seat and approached me. His red eyes glimmering as he looked up at me. His rabbit ears are the same shade of light blue as his hair.

He wore a simple yet expensive looking suit and a small bow tie. He looked liek that white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, except he didn't have an oversized pocket watch and his fur is blue, and he is more human than rabbit.

"G-Good afternoon! I'm Fihr Bluehair! I am the Guild Master for the Lorren branch of the Adventurer's Guild! P-Pleased to meet you!"

After that cute introduction, he shakily extended out his hand. I smiled and shaked Fihr's hand.

"Arthur Pendragon, Swordsman. Nice to meet you too."

He smiled as he excitedly shaked my hand.

Ryoka coughed to remind us of her presence while she tapped on the table with her fingers.

"Oh, that's right! Please, take a seat! Tea? I'll pour you some right away!"

"Sure. A-Anyway, Fihr? Should I call you Fihr?"

Fihr nodded excitedly while he placed a small cup in front of me. Moments later, he was pouring me a cup of tea that smelled wonderful.

"It's tea from the country of Zipangu! Miss Ryoka here gave it to me as a gift."

"Ah, so that's the familiar scent. It's green tea."

"Correct. You're drinking high-quality macha there made from one of my facilities there. It is a shame that I still haven't mass produced it since it's hard to grind the leaves into fine powder."

Ryoka gracefully sipped her tea while Fihr took a seat in front of us. He was beaming gleefully as he watched the two us.

"Arthur! Arthur! You defeated Nehuet the Dread right?"

He asked while I was in the midst of enjoying my tea.

"Yeah. Why? Is there a problem?"

"No! Not at all! In fact, I'm impressed! Very impressed!"

The kid sprung up to his feet and walked towards one of the shelves on his room. He was looking through his books when he suddenly spoke up in his childish voice.

"You received a letter from one of my assistants, right? One with the wax seal on it."

"Huh? Oh, you mean this? Yeah, I got it."

The moment I pulled out the letter, Ryoka nearly spat out her tea in surprise. I shot her a surprised look while she shot a glance at Fihr.

"Fihr-san! T-That is the sea-"

"The Royal Seal of the Kindom of Weissen. Yes, it is a letter from the king himself."

Fihr pulled out one of the books and the shelves immediate parted in the middle, revealing a small room with a chest inside.

"First of all, I would like to congratulate you for completing the bounty placed on Nehuet the Dread. On behalf of the Adventurer's Guild, I present to you your payment!"

Fihr pulled on the small chest. After a couple of minutes of him pulling and pushing the damn thing, it still didn't budge. Fihr chuckled as he turned to me.

"Looks like I'm too weak to pull it, hehe. Anyways, your reward for the bounty is a grand total of 200 million Weis! Congratulations! Yippee!"

Fihr clapped happily as he opened the chest, revealing a mountain of silver and gold coins within. While the boy clapped and cheered, Ryoka and I sat there with a dumbfounded expression.

500 million... holy shit, I'm set for life! I can fucking retire already!

"What about the letter? What is it?"

"Hmm? Oh! Well, His Highness wants to meet anyone who is able to defeat high ranking monsters like that. So, what you're holding there is a royal summon to the capital! You can go anytime you want, but it is expected that one report to the capital at once when summoned."

"Ah... I'll go there when I'm free, I guess."

I heard Ryoka sigh while Fihr's color drained from his face at my words.

"E-Excuse me, what did you-"

"I'm not really interested in going to the capital right now."

"Ah. Is that so... W-Well, I'm not in a position to question someone of your caliber about their choices..."

Fihr scratched his head as his bunny ears drooped in dismay.

"Oh well... Anyways, I am yet to thank you as well, Arthur-san. I've already made preparations to deliver 10 million Weis as a reward and thanks for your service to your inn as well as 5 million more for your hazard pay. You also have the 2 million Weis reward for your participation as well as the bounty for each undead you have killed."

"H-Hold on! Wait a minute! That's, That's a lot of money!"

I must be dreaming right now. Surely, I must be dreaming.

How the hell did I become a millionare in my next life? Holy shit, I'm probably richer than my family now!

I made it! I won at life! Mom, Dad! I did it! I won at life!

The sheer joy I am feeling right now cannot be put into words! All I could do is just sit here in disbelief while the two stare at me as I sat dumbfounded but fucking happy.

"Arthur-san, once you're finished daydreaming about what you're gonna do with you wealth, please come back to your senses. We still have to discuss something important.

Ryoka said calmly while she walked over towards her bag. She pulled out what looks to be a checkbook and a small pen before taking a sit back at the table.

"R-Right..."

I calmed myself for now while the two exchanged worried glances between them.

"First of all,we need to talk about the important cargo Ryoka-san delivered here. The reason why she was targeted by the Demon King's forces."

Fihr spoke with a worried tone before pulling out a small bell. He rang it once and the door to the room opened slightly and a girl poked her head through the door.

"Can you please bring the two "items" into the room?"

"Right away, sir!"

The girl immediately closed the door behind her.

I wonder how this boy got this position anyway.

"Arthur, you already know what are Divine Artifacts and Heroic Relics, right?"

"I know the gist of it. I also have a grasp of the situation."

"Good. Then I'm guessing you won't be surprised with what I'm about to show you."

Ryoka said with a serious voice. Moments later, the door opened and two people wearing the guild's uniform entered the room.

One was carrying a large box while the other was carrying an all too familiar sword.

"Ryoka here was tasked to deliver a powerful magical device to me."

"Okay, but what about Nehuet's sword?"

"Well, about that. Remember when you defeated Nehuet? You must've held his sword."
