|"Doctor! What's happening to my little baby?" droplets of sweat dripped on the man's face as he looked at the obese woman in front of him. Armed with a purse, the woman who could easily stand on the same grounds as Snorlax gave no small amount of pressure to him.
"Miss! The doctor has already told you that she's okay. She has fallen into an emotional shock which resulted into a state of unconsciousness. Her health is fine, but we hope she will wake up as soon as possible along with the other animals!" A teenager wearing assistant's clothing answered the woman before the doctor even had the chance to open his mouth, saving the man from further stress.
"It's not like your damn dog is the only one that's suffering..." the boy muttered to himself with a pained look after having reminded himself of his old friend from home, an 11 year old Mastiff that suffers from the same disease.
Indignantly, the woman puffed her massive chest before turning to leave, not forgetting to threaten the Veterinary Center and then - with a bang - she closed the door.
Looking outside the window, a sigh escaped the boys mouth as he rested his face on his hand. A blackhole stood proud in the sky, threatening to swallow the whole Earth with it's overbearing presence. The days have turned darker as the blackhole swallowed the radiant energy that emanated from the sun, shrouding the whole planet in a veil of gloom.
It all happened two months ago when earthquakes on different scales appeared all around the globe, before the sky darkened and the black hole appeared. It hasn't done any harm yet except to increase the chaos among the people. Some have already prepared for the Apocalypse, arming themselves with whatever weapons they could afford while maintaining vigilance for surprises.
The boys name is Wang Tao. A freshman in his first year of university with a massive love towards animals who has volunteered to the Central Veterinary Center in the city when the problems occured. A lot of animals fainted while others went berserk. The researchers have already explained that the main cause is the shock from the earthquakes and the blackhole, but that did not help the situation at all. A lot of tragedies have occured all around with people being bitten to death by the pets they raised ever since small.
* AWOOO *
An ear piercing roar that threatened to shake the heavens and earth resounded in the skies before a sillouethe slowly walked out of the blackhole and then turning into a blur as it left into the darkned skies, not giving the people the chance to see it's appearance at all.
And then.
*dum dum dum*
Massive gates started falling from the skies before landing in different parts of the city, with one falling just one hundred meters away from the Veterinary Center. In just a few seconds, the gates released a light akin to a laser beam that shot into the skies, forming a hexagon. After another few seconds, the lights slowly dissipated as if nothing has happened.
"What the heck is happening?" said Wang Tao with no small amount of surprise in his eyes as he saw the sillouethe that came out of the blackhole, the gates fall and the hexagon in the sky.
It didn't take a long time before he got his answers as the gates that fell suddenly took the form of mini blackholes similar to the one in the skies before small green creatured armed with bludgeons came running out savagely attacking the passer-by who stopped to watch.
'Arghhh'
A bone chilling scream resounded as a kid got smashed into a pool of blood by the small creature.
'Is that..a Goblin?' looking at the bloody sight and the small monsters, Wang Tao's mind fell into a state of chaos. Weren't goblins mythological creatures? A kid died? Just like that?!
'Awoo! Woof Woof! Meoowwwww! Squick Squick'
"They're waking up!! Doctor!!" an assistant screamed out loud as she watched the unconscious animals wake up.
Just as she wanted to go and check a Labrador that just woke up, the dog furiously bit the woman's hand. Followed by the crazed screams of the woman, every single person in the the Veterinary Center froze on the spot with a flabbergasted expression on their faces.
"Save me!! Save me, someone save me!" as she was begging for help, the Labrador's eyes turned completely red before it let go of the hand and savagely bit her neck, leaving the whole Center into a state of stupefaction.
*gulp*
The womans eyes slowly rolled out before she fell into a puddle of blood mixed with piss under the shocked gazes of the watching crowd.

After having taken care of the woman, the Labrador turned around with a savage look on it's face, showing it's row of teeths painted red with the womans fresh blood. Beside the Labrador more and more animals gathered, growling towards the humans. Seeing the horrifying scene from earlier, there were some women who immediately fainted, while others were trembling in despair. In less than 2 seconds, every person inside started to run towards the exit with Wang Tao in the lead. Being young with a decently muscular body, it was normal for him to outrun and react faster than the others.
"Why is this happening..just why! All we did was to treat you, feed you, love you, just why are you doing this to us!" cried Wang Tao in his heart as he desperately ran towards the exit.
Just as he stepped outside the center, a scenery that would remain deeply imprinted inside his head for a very long time appeared in his sight. Corpses of humans and small creatures scattered on the floor, the city burning and the loud sounds of police sirens, armed humans with bludgeons, knifes, swords, pistols, shields, rocks and other random weapons. His eyes immediately fell on a small kid that was akin to a human torch as he ran from the monsters as his crazed screams stopped after being hit by a bludgeon.
Taking a deep breath, Wang Tao immediately ran towards an alley before taking a breather from this hell. Walking through shortcuts to avoid the main streets that were very much like a warzone, he quickly ran in the direction of his apartment. In just 5 minutes, he found himself in front of his door, contemplating wether to hide inside or just run away immediately. First, he had to check on his friend! No way will he ever abandon the one and only loyal friend he had.
"Fire! Where are you?" he loudly called for his friend the moment he unlocked the door. Fire was a Tibetan Mastiff that was gifted to him when he was small.
A bright red figure just like fire popped out of the corner of the room, with his eyes taking a crimson color as he gazed at him.
"You're fine! Thank the Gods, Fire!" brightly smiled Wang Tao at the figure, before his face slowly turned pale as a white sheet of paper.
The expression Fire had was similar to the one the Labrador from the Veterinary Center had before he killed the woman..
"Fire...?" said Wang Tao with a very frightened voice as he took a few steps back before his back hit the door.
'Grrr...'
"Be a good boy, Fire...be a good boy..." slowly cried Wang Tao, but the gaze from the Mastiff did not waver at all as the growls continued.
Without warning, the Mastiff dashed towards Wang Tao before savagely biting into his arm, as blood curling screams resounded in the room.
"Stop it! Stop it! Fire!!!" roared Wang Tao in pain, before the Mastiff changed his attention towards his neck.
Just as he was a few inches away from biting his neck, the Mastiff stopped. Small droplets of tears formed around his crimson red eyes, before he slowly retreated. After that, the Mastiff started ramming the walls with his head, as if he wanted to demolish the whole room.
Stupefied, he watched the Mastiff's actions, with a tinge of relief that he's not dead. Getting up, he slowly picked up a baseball bat he had close to the door with his hurting arm.
The Mastiff's actions continued for another 5 minutes before his head was dripping with blood, as Wang Tao kept watching his actions, not knowing what to do.
Just as Fire wanted to ram into the wall one more time, a gruesome worm jumped out of his ears before it landed on the floor.
Looking at it, Wang Tao immediately found himself in a trance as an unknown influx of information appeared inside his mind.
'Mind-Controlling Worm. Level 0 - It preys on sleeping animals before turning them into savage beings.'
"This bastard!!!" a sudden realization that this stupid worm was the one behind Fire's aggressive behavior and the other animals, Wang Tao immediately ran towards it before smashing his baseball bat on it's body, as it turned into small bits of flesh as it's green liquid akin to blood splashed around.
"Congratulations for killing your first monster! You have received the Beast Tamer Class as a reward for killing a controlling type-beast as your first monster. Do you accept?
Y/N?"
Panting heavily, Wang Tao fell on his butt as he leaned against the wall. Seeing the bloody wound on his Master's hand, Fire slowly walked towards him with his head still dripping with fresh blood before extending his tongue to lick his wounds in an attempt to alleviate the pain.
"Fire, stop it. You're tickling me and it hurts..haha, but it doesn't matter, it's good that you're fine!" said Wang Tao with a happy expression before taking the Mastiff into a bear hug.
"I accept!" replied Wang Tao softly as his eyes were still fixed on Fire. Having been reunited with his best friend and knowing that he's fine, there was no small amount of happiness in his heart.
"You have accepted the hidden-class Beast Tamer! You have gained 3 points to all stats and you have learned the unique Skill "Contract the Familiar!"
A status window appeared soon after followed by a small increase in strength that he could feel in his body.
