Jargon revolved his cultivation base. Energy gushed rapidly and flowed through all his different body channels before leaving from his hands. “Flames of hell” His yell echoed inside the dark and moist cave. The uneven cave walls vibrated from his voice and the intensity of yang energy gathered in such a small space.
Out from the palms of his hand, red-colored flames emerged as quickly as thunder strikes from the sky and soared across the room towards the energy beast of the first stage in front of him. The soaring flames converged into faces of people, with expressions of agony and suffering. Children, men, women and elderly, they all filled the cave room with screams of pain.
The energy beast of the first stage, a gigantic iron-spike snake, spewed out gold colored mist. The metallic mist tried to block the flames with screaming face.
"Hiss!"
The gigantic iron-spike-snake’s alarming sound was drowned in the screams of pain and suffering by the faces as they ignited the metallic mist, turning the mist into nothing but forlorn ash. Merely breaths later, the giant iron-spike snake, measured fifteen meters long, became a lump of iron as it was melted by the extreme heat of the flames of hell conjured by Jargon.
"Phew" Jargon took a breath of relief and sat down on the ground. The cave he was in was one he recently discovered and had decided to venture in. But to his surprise and dismay, it was completely filled with a variety of energy beasts.
Most of them were of the first realm of cultivation, energy gathering realm, while the beast he fought and successfully killed now was of the second realm, energy tempering realm. The first realm was the realm were cultivators inhaled the natural world energy in specific breathing exercises called mantras. Then, they leaded the energy inhaled through their body channels into their lower dan tian, two centimeters below the navel.
Jargon was at the second realm of cultivation, the energy tempering realm. Upon reaching the ninth stage of energy gathering realm, cultivators had to combine their energy with their soul to create an energy soul. After creating an energy soul, the cultivator had advanced to the second realm.
“Luckily, this energy beast of the tempering stage was of the metal element. I would have lost if it had been water…”
There are two types of energy in this world, yang and yin. Yang is masculine and yin is feminine. Yang energy and Yin energy are further divided into five elements. Fire and wood belongs to the category of yang, water and metal belongs to the yin category. And the last element, Earth, doesn't to either of the two categories, it is an element with fifty percent yang and fifty percent yin energy
Fire counters metal, water counters fire, wood counters water and metal counters wood. Earth doesn't counter anything, but at the same time, isn't being countered. Nothing is truly invincible in this world. But naturally, if a fire cultivator encountered a water cultivator, defeat wasn’t certain. But usually, the countered element was at a disadvantage.
“Let’s go!”
Jargon rose up from the seated position on the cave ground and began to venture further inside the cave. The cave gradually began to open up and become wider. The walls became more smooth. He had not encountered any other energy beast after the gigantic iron-spike snake.

“It’s truly weird. It seems as if the cave tunnel will soon lead the way out to a big cave room. And since there haven’t been any more energy beasts other than the gigantic iron-spike snake, there’s most likely an extremely powerful energy beast at the end of the tunnel. But if the possibility strikes true, I’ll just have to escape very quickly. In the worst case, I’ll use the a forbidden technique to increase my speed for a short amount of time.”
After deciding what to do, he continued onwards. In a short amount of, the time it took for an incense stick to burn, he arrived to a big metal door. On the door, a picture of a mythological monster was engraved. It was a quilin.
A Quillin’s strength and might rivaled that of the legendary creatures; the dragon, serpentine creature symbolizing power, strength, and good luck. Or the phoenix, symbolizing yang energy and the possibility to escape the nine cycles of rebirth. A quilin however, was something completely different.
It would refuse to walk upon grass for fear of harming a single blade, and thus often depicted walking upon the clouds or water. They are divine and peaceful creature. Yet, when wicked appears, their other side will show itself. Quillins are long forgotten creatures by many. According to ancient images, they look like something between a horse and a dog with scales like a dragon and horns of a bull. There has only been one appearance in history of the main continent where they have appeared.
It was under the yellow sun, when the black emperor tried to pass his tribulation and achieve immortality, when a quillin appeared. With it, destruction followed. And when it had disappeared in the sky above, there was nothing left in its wake. The black emperor, his kingdom, his followers; they were all sent to hell to repent for their sins.
“I wonder, is it possible for it to be a Quilin in here? No… that shouldn’t be possible… they are told to be extinct. … Is it possible for there to be mythical relics here…?”
He wondered why the door was here. Could it be the remains of an ancient civilization which blossomed and were visited by the mighty and legendary quilins?
“I guess there’s nothing lost by opening the door, right?” He told himself and tried to push the door open, it didn’t even budge a single centimeter with his physical strength. He tried once more but this time using is cultivation base.
*Gong* The door began to open, the massive metal doors produced a sound similar to the sound of an instrument named by the sound it emitted, gong. As he saw what was inside, he became speechless.
It was a small caveIn and on the rock ceiling, light-blue shining crystals hung, giving the small cave a slight vision. In the middle of the cave, there was a small pond. It was devoid of movements except for a big light-green lily pad floating about. But that wasn’t what made him speechless.
On top the big lily pad, there was a human child with most likely only a few days to his or her name. And beside the human child, a baby panda without fur laid. Even though the lily pad seemed to be as fragile as a strand of grass, it didn’t even budge when carrying the small human child and baby panda’s weight. It seemed as if though the Lily pad could carry anything, even the entire world.
