In the previous chapter, Jouya gets teleported to a mysterious world in the middle of nowhere.
"H-huh..?!"
Jouya glanced around. Instead of the restroom's dim lights, he was surrounded by an endless field of tall, grass-like plants swaying in the wind.
He swung his head left to right, trying to figure out what just happened.
There was a big mountain behind him, appearing faintly due to how far away it was.
"What the..?!!" Jouya muttered.
"Uhm.." A voice came from behind.
To his surprise, there’s someone watching him..
Jouya's eyes widened as he made eye contact with what appears to be a human-like male creature around his age, wearing white silky rags and brown sandals.
He wore a glowing, thin headband on his short brown hair that resembled some sort of halo.
The things that made him differ from a human being were his sparkling silver eyes, the glowing halo-like thing, and his serene angelic face.
"AAAHHH! Who are you?! Where am I?!" Jouya jumps in shock as the situation finally hits him.
"Uhm.. don't you want to finish what you're doing first?" The young male said.
Jouya glanced down at his exposed butt and hastily pulled his pants up.
"F-forget that! I asked you something!" He shouted, his face turning red from embarrassment.
The male goddess took out a piece of paper, squinting as he tried to read its contents while Jouya awkwardly stared.
"Alright.. so, here says you got hit by a truck, so I brought you.." The male goddess didn't get a chance to finish his sentence, as Jouya interrupted him immediately.
"Hit by a what?!" "W-w-w-wait, is this what I think it is?!.. Are you a goddess?!" Jouya starts freaking out, realizing the situation he is in.
"A-Ah yeah.. B-but what do you think this is exactly?" The male goddess asked.
"A goddamn reincarnation of course! Are you kidding me?" Jouya yelled.
"Eh- Of course it is! " The male goddess said, giving raising suspision.
"What, aren't you sure?!.. Nevermind that! How the hell did I even get hit by a truck inside a restroom?!" Jouya snapped!
"Inside.. a restroom?" the male goddess replied, confused.
"Inside a restroom, yes! Before you bring me here, I was peacefully taking a piss in that fancy toilet of that damn karaoke!"
"A-Are you sure you didn't get hit by a truck?" The goddess asked again, shifting his focus from the paper to Jouya.
"DAMN RIGHT I AM! YOU SAW ME PEEING THE GRASS A WHILE AGO!" Jouya shouted, throwing his hands in the air in frustration.
"OKAY! Hold up! Let me double check this! You're Shirayuki Joe, right?" The male goddess asked him.
"No! I’m Shirai Jouya!" Jouya replied, frustrated as he was.
"Shi-rai.. Jou-ya..? The male goddess spelled Jouya's full name slowly, becoming even more confused than he already was.
Jouya kneeled to the ground, devastated, his head looking downwards.
"I don't get it.. I didn't even.." the male goddess murmured.
"What?!" Jouya said angrily.
"What?!" Male goddess responded instantly.
"You didn't even what?!" Jouya asked the goddess like a detective interrogating.
"N-Nothing.." The male goddess mumbled.
"Oh, so you wanna play like that..?" Jouya said and started staring the male goddess right in the eyes without even blinking once.
"What are you doing..?" The male goddess said, unable to understand Jouya's behavior, whose eyes started to widen even more.
There is an intense stare contest going on for a while between the two boys, accompanied by a strong silence.
"Argh!! Why aren't you saying anything?" Jouya broke his silence, rubbing his watery eyes.
"Say what..? You're the one who stared at me for two whole minutes without even saying a thing!" The male godess replied.
"Yeah, it's a psychological trick, where you stare at someone and he feels so awkward that he eventually feels the urge to speak and break his silence, giving more and more details over something."
Jouya said, with a disappointed expression on his face.
"Really?" The male goddess seemed to be really interested in the information Jouya gave him, leaving him with his mouth open.
"Don't get intrigued!" Jouya yelled, as a strong feeling of desperation soon washed over him.
“Am I.. really going to spend the rest of my life here?” Jouya said with a broken voice.
"A-Ah, no! Come on, don't be like that! I guess I could try and send you back." The male goddess replied.
"Wait, can you actually do that?" Jouya asked, disbelief written all over his face.
"I mean, since this is clearly a misunderstanding.. The right thing to do would be to send you back from where you came." The male goddess replied.
"Really?" Jouya sounded with sparkling eyes full of hope.
"I mean, I could try.." The goddess murmured, looking slightly away, unsure.
“What?” Jouya asked, not hearing what the goddess said.
“I said yes, I just need to locate the world that you came from.”
“Oh, it's Earth, Japan!” Jouya replied.
“Earth huh.. hmmm..” The male goddess closed his eyes, trying to focus.

"Alright uhm, take a few steps back, then close your eyes, don't want you getting blinded by the light." The male goddess asked Jouya as he appeared ready.
"Okay!" Jouya squinched his eyes shut, bracing himself.
The goddess extends his arms towards Jouya and starts chanting some gibberish to Jouya words, and then a big moment of silence follows..
It appears that nothing has happened after all..
Phew.. I'm kinda glad it didn't work after all, I couldn't even find that 'Earth' he mentioned.. Who knows where I could have teleported him.. The male goddess thought, but soon..
But wait.. that's not good.. There should have been at least a few sparks even if it failed.. Don't tell me?!
Cold sweat ran down the goddess's face as he stood motionless..
"..Can I open them now?" Jouya asked.
"No! We're not done yet!" The goddess shouted nervously with a forceful tone.
"Geez, okay.." Jouya kept his eyes closed, waiting for the goddess to finish until..
The goddess repeated the exact same chant as before!
"Wait..what?!" Jouya opened his eyes, seeing the goddess losing his temper and repeating the chant over and over again, faster and faster with each time, even pointing at random directions at some point
"What are you doing?!?"
The goddess kept mumbling spells, nervously waving his hands around, ignoring Jouya as he began to panic!
"HEY!!" Jouya screamed in an attempt to stop him.
"WHAT!" The male goddess replied frustrated.
"Don't what me! What's going on?"
".. I don't know, it appears that I can't use any sort of magic!" The male goddess let out a big sigh, expressing fear and disappointment.
"W-wait.. that means I can't go back?" Jouya asked nervously.
"No.. It seems that we're both stuck in this world.." The male goddess replied, with his eyes wide open, facing the ground .
"WHAT?!" Jouya falls to the ground as he begins to have a mental breakdown over the situation.
"M-my figurines.. What will happen to my figurines if I can't go back? They're going to get all dusty and eaten by bugs. Ah! What if they break into my house to find clues about my disappearance? They're definitely going to find them!
Chihaya will curse me forever if she finds out about them.. That stupid karaoke, I won't even be able to rock the shit out of our favorite song with Kouta.."
"It's all your fault! Calling yourself a goddess when you can't even use magic! Now we're probably stuck in a cliche medieval, fantasy world with no television, no anime, no computers, no games, not even electricity!" Jouya shouted, really frustrated, with a bit of sadness in his eyes.
"Who said I am a goddess to begin with?" The male .... whatever that being is, yelled, appearing quite annoyed.
"Ha! I knew- Wait a minute.. If you're not a goddess, then what are you?" Jouya asked deeply confused.
"I'm a substitute goddess!" The substitute goddess replied.
Jouya looked silently at the goddess, waiting for him to continue..
"*Sighs* A substitute goddess basically covers the absence of an actual goddess and does her job," The substitute goddess said.
"Yeah..? I mean, what's the difference?" Jouya asked him.
"There's not much of a difference between us except some authorities, magic capacity I guess.. and magic charisma. Oh! And our appearance of course." The substitute goddess explained proudly.
"You call that not much?" Jouya stared at him with a side eye.
"Shut up! What do you even know about substitute goddesses?" the substitute goddess said, glaring at Jouya with a look full of despise.
"Judging by the situation, I can tell that either you've run out of magic, or that you can't use magic at all." Jouya replied, dripping with sarcasm.
"If I had run out of magic, you wouldn't be here now. Although, I really don't know how exactly you got here without me casting a single spell." the substitute goddess said, rubbing his chin with one hand.
"Hah! You didn't even cast a spell? Seriously? You really want me to buy that?" Jouya asked, unable to believe the goddesse's excuses.
"It's the truth! But judging by your IQ so far it's useless to try and convince you." The substitute goddess replied.
"At least I can function as a human being, unlike you the mighty Substitute Goddess who can't even use magic!" Jouya yelled, annoyed by what the goddess said about him.
"OH! You didn't..!" Said the substitute goddess shocked, while Jouya nodded positively, keeping intense eye contact with him.
"I did!" Jouya said proudly!
"That's it. I'm not staying another minute here with you!" The substitute goddess said out of frustration without thinking about it much.
"O-oh yeah..? Then leave! I don't need you anyway!" Jouya replied with a bit of fear in his voice, trying to mask it.
"T-That's exactly what I'll do!" The substitute goddess said, unable to take his words back due to his ego.
"Fine!" Jouya shouted!
"Fine!" The substitute goddess replied in the same tone, both of them turning their backs at each other, and soon they started walking in opposite directions.
As they kept moving away from each other, both of them exchanged glances quite a few times, looking back.
Is it really ok leaving that stupid substitute goddess? What am I going to do alone in this foreign world? Plus if there is any chance of me getting back home.. it would be with the help of a goddess, even if it's a substitute one.. Jouya thought as he stopped moving taking yet another look behind him, but the goddess was nowhere to be seen..
Stupid, why would you say such thing? Now you're left all alone in this scary and dangerous world with no magic to protect yourself.. The substitute goddess stopped moving, feeling sorry about what happened earlier but again his ego wouldn't let him
Suddenly the cries of a little girl could be heard in the near distance.
That's my chance! Both of them thought and immediately began sprinting back to the place where they met each other!
They both made it back almost at the same time, looking quite tired and heavily panting.
"Huff.. I knew you would change huff.. your mind.." Said the substitute goddess to Jouya having his hands placed over his knees as he tried to catch a breath.
"D-Don't.. get the wrong idea.. It's only huff.. because I heard you crying like a little girl.. that I.. came back to check!" Jouya said, with an ironic smile on his face staring at him.
"Heh..you idiot!" the substitute goddess responded smiling back at him.
The cries of the little girl continued, smacking them both back to their senses.
"Oh wait, so it's really not you!" Jouya replied with a sarcastic face.
"Wow, you're a comedian!" The substitute goddess replied ironically.
"I know right? Let's go and save that girl now shall we?" Jouya said, and soon both of them started jogging towards the sound of the girl crying.
"We eh? I thought you didn't need my help" The substitute goddess replied with a grin on his face, eyeing Jouya.
"I-It's not like that.. I thought it would be better if we sticked together, since we're both outsiders. B-But it's not like I need your help or anything, I doubt you can be of any help without your magic!" Jouya said, looking away out of embarrasment, giving off tsundere vibes.
"Again with this?! Well, I'm pretty sure I can do more in this Godly body of mine, than you can do in your skinny human one! You call that running? I bet even your grandma could run faster than that." The substitute goddess replied, becoming really frustrated again because of Jouya's answer.
"Hey what's that?!" Jouya pretended to grab something from his pocket, showing it to the substitute goddess waiting for him to take it.
"Here you've lost this" Jouya said.
"What's ..this?" The substitute goddess looked confused at Jouya's empty hand.
"..Your magic!" Jouya bursts in laughter.
"Oh you.. I'll show you magic!" the substitute goddess said as he started to rushing leaving Jouya behind.
"H-Hey! Come back!" Jouya shouted, and with that, they began racing each other.
They were almost there, the little girl could be seen sitting under a tree not very far, wearing a small white dress, she appeared to be lost.
"Over there!" Jouya said, pointing in the direction of the little girl.
The two boys were closing in..
"Ok you handle this." The substitute goddess said, entrusting Jouya, placing his arm on his shoulder.
"Why me?!" Jouya asked frowning.
"You're both humans, so she may feel more familiar with someone of her kind, and eventually she'll stop crying." The substitute goddess said, having a nervous expression on his face.
"...Alright!" Jouya agreed with a slight hesitation, as he soon started moving towards the girl.
The little girl wiped her tears upon noticing the boys approaching, feeling quite terrified.
"See? I told you!" The substitute goddess shouted from a distance.
"Shhh, don't shout, you're going to scare her you idiot!" Jouya screamed at a 50% power, trying not to scare the little girl, while looking back at the substitute goddess.
The girl was completely still out of fear, cautiously observing Jouya as he approached her slowly.
He kneeled down to match her height in an attempt to make her feel comfortable and not threatened.
"Hey little girl, are you lost?" Jouya said with a soft voice, smiling as he extended his arm towards her, offering help.
The little girl hesitated, appearing as if she was ready to start crying again, any moment now, until..
Little Girl: ÀÆÁÆÁÁÂ!!
