Chapter 50 – It’s Her.

Chapter 50 – It’s Her.

"Stop!" shouted Valentina, the class president, with a fury that sliced through the freezing air.

Her voice echoed like thunder among the snowy mountains.

Upon hearing her, the students, already holding their weapons aloft, hesitated.

No one wanted to face the president, especially when she seemed this angry.

Valentina strode to the front, her steps firm, surveying the situation with a mix of disbelief and rage.

"What are you doing!?" she repeated, pointing at Camila, the first friend she had made since arriving at the academy. "That’s Camila! Can’t you see?"

Her gaze pierced each of the armed students, who were now starting to murmur among themselves.

One of the students holding a spear, a boy named Diego, approached Valentina with evident doubt on his face.

"Valentina… the professor told us a powerful, strange presence was approaching. We didn’t know it was Camila. We thought that..."

The words caught in his throat as he realized the magnitude of their mistake.

"What? You thought you were going to kill a monster? You idiots! That's Camila! If she’s with that girl, then she’s not a threat!" Valentina raised her voice even more, her fury escalating.

"Why aren’t you lowering your weapons? Are you blind? Have you forgotten how she healed Iván after that disastrous training? Or you, Lucía, when she taught you healing magic when no one else wanted to?"

The mentioned students, Iván and Lucía, exchanged uncomfortable glances, lowering their guard slightly.

Despite mentioning only two examples, the truth was Camila had helped several students before.

Lucía averted her eyes, clearly embarrassed for having taken part in the attack.

"So, are you going to continue this plan, knowing the person in front of you is Camila?" Valentina's voice was like a dart of reality that struck all of them.

The murmurs grew among the students, and although they still held their weapons up, doubt settled in each of them.

Meanwhile, Eleonora watched from the sidelines, somewhat perplexed by how quickly the situation had turned. She had heard Isuke mention his classmates, but she never imagined the leader of the group would be a close friend of her candidate, Camila.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

Eleonora clicked her tongue, slightly frustrated by this new twist in events.

Now it seemed everyone turned out to be friends with Camila.

‘This is ridiculous,’ Eleonora thought, her gaze settling on the students.

Her irritation grew as she recalled the earlier attack.

If her summon hadn’t intercepted most of the damage, her candidate’s body would likely have been in terrible shape by now.

The summon, which had been silent until now, was also slightly puzzled by the unfolding scene.

"Can I kill them?" her summon asked, its expression relaxed.

The summon’s words, spoken with such coldness and ease, sent a chill through the nearby students.

Despite its young and innocent appearance, the casual way it asked the question froze the blood of those around.

One of the students, trembling slightly, whispered:

"Valentina… that girl just said she’s going to kill us..."

That comment reached the ears of other students nearby, which only reignited the tension. Even though Eleonora and her summon were merely standing there, the pressure they exerted, which Eleonora herself wasn’t fully aware of, overwhelmed the group of students. She had grown used to this level of power, having once possessed it herself and having grown up with her sisters, but the students were not accustomed to such an overwhelming presence.

Valentina turned her gaze to Camila.

Her eyes searched desperately for an explanation, some sort of sign that her friend had the situation under control.

With a resigned sigh, Eleonora lightly tapped her summon’s head and spoke in a nonchalant tone.

"She's just joking."

...

Silence.

For a few moments, everyone was silent at the absurd explanation they had just heard. And then, by mere coincidence...

"Ha! Haha!" Valentina suddenly burst out laughing, surprising all the students.

Despite Valentina’s own doubts about her friend's now-red eyes, the truth was, there was only one person in the world capable of giving such a stupid explanation in this situation, and that person could only be...

Camila.

"See, guys? It’s her, still as clueless as always."

Eleonora’s words, combined with the class president's, eased the tension enough that the students began to relax a little.

The summon’s dangerous aura was still present, but the fact that Camila seemed to have it "under control" gave them some relief.

Above, silently observing everything, was the professor.

He had been supervising the battle from a distance, staying alert in case he needed to cast another large spell. But upon seeing that the situation was now under control, he spoke calmly to one of the students closest to him.

"Tell the others they can break formation. Everything seems to be fine now, no more danger."

The professor's words, though reassuring, left everyone a bit perplexed.

Just like that?

Was the professor really just closing the matter?

There was no time for more questions, as with his order, the students above began to fully relax, lowering their weapons and dispersing.

Some, still confused, couldn’t stop glancing at Camila and her strange companion, wondering what had really happened.

Several girls from the group shyly approached the summon, offering her some clothes.

“H-here... to cover yourself...” one of them said, extending a thick coat.

The summon accepted the garment without a word, covering herself while looking at the students with a neutral expression.

Though her posture remained firm, it was clear that they no longer saw her as a threat.

The group began to gather around Camila, noticing the severity of her injuries.

Although they were still in a snowy environment and the cold continued to bite, the tension that had dominated the air was slowly dissipating, leaving behind an odd sense of calm.
