In the dark void, a humanoid figure appears, floating amidst the chaos of the world. It is a male in his twenties.

He whispers, “I can’t move. Am I still alive? I remember getting hit by a truck while crossing the road on my way home from the convenience store. Is this the end of my life? Am I in Hell?”

This man is Wei Yang, a 22-year-old web developer and gamer. He works as a freelancer, but whenever he has free time, he immerses himself in gaming to escape the harsh realities of life. Despite being a skilled developer, he struggles to find a stable job at a big tech company, and perhaps most painfully, he’s still a virgin.

Suddenly, Wei Yang heard a robotic voice resonate in the void, saying, “Ding! Congratulations, Master! You have been chosen by the World Cultivation System. Before you reach a certain level, your memory and the system itself will remain locked within your consciousness and will awaken when the time is right.”

Startled, Wei Yang exclaimed in his mind, “Hey, hey! What?? I’m crossing into a different world? At least you could clarify what type of world I’ll be thrown into! SYSTEM!”

After a while, a faint black mass begins to concentrate in front of him. Though his eyes are half-closed, he can still make out the ominous shape looming before him.

“What is this? It looks like it’s going to swallow me?” Wei Yang mutters, anxiety creeping into his voice.

As time passes, the black matter becomes more defined, forming a portal that emits a strange suction around it. Wei Yang feels an uncomfortable pull, as if the dark mass is calling to him.

“No way my jinxed mouth is actually this bad,” he exclaims, frustration evident in his tone.

Before long, half of his body is drawn into the black matter. He fights to escape, but then he remembers that he is already dead and that there is no hope of evading this fate. Everything around him is dark and cold, devoid of life. Reluctantly, he surrenders to the pull, and his body is fully consumed by the darkness.

Inside the dark matter, a surprising warmth envelops him, and he experiences a strange sense of familiarity, as if he has been here before but cannot quite recall when. Unable to open his eyes or move, Wei Yang eventually succumbs to sleep.

Months later, he awakens to find himself able to make small movements, but he feels disoriented and unclear about his surroundings. It becomes apparent that he has forgotten everything about his previous life and the events leading to his entry into the dark matter. He learns that all those months, he had been in a woman’s womb.

One month later, in Huanggu Town, at Wei's family estate, a maid rushes into a central room.

“Patriarch! Patriarch! Your wife is giving birth right now!” she yells, urgency lacing her voice.

Upon hearing this, Wei Zhen, the family patriarch, rushes into the living room where he and his wife reside. He quickly hurries to his wife's side, where an older woman assists her in labor, surrounded by a few anxious maids.

His wife exhibits a powerful expression of both pain and effort as she endures the labor. Her voice starts as a low moan, escalating into loud, guttural cries and sharp, intense screams as the contractions intensify. Her face contorts with pain, beads of sweat trickling down her brow, and her body trembles with the strain. Each yell is punctuated by deep, labored breaths, her voice shaking as she channels every ounce of energy into pushing. It is a visceral sound, filled with determination, primal strength, and vulnerability as she brings new life into the world.

Wei Zhen takes his wife’s hand, looking softly into her eyes. “I’m right here with you. You’re not alone,” he assures her, his voice steady and filled with love, offering her the strength she needs in this moment of profound challenge.

After a long struggle, the old lady gently announces, “Mr. Wei, your wife has given birth to a boy.” The baby looks adorable, with a few delicate strands of hair on his head. The old lady carefully presents the infant to Wei Shen, slowly passing the baby into his waiting arms.

In that moment, Wei Shen turns to his wife, a radiant smile spreading across his face. “Mei Hua, look at our boy! He has some of your features and a bit of mine; he looks quite smart already. Have you thought of a name for him yet?”

With a faint smile, his wife replies in a soft voice, “Let’s call him Wei Yang. How does that sound, honey?”

Wei Zhen looks thoughtfully at their newborn son, then nods with a proud expression. “Wei Yang? I like it. Wei means ‘power’ or ‘authority,’ reflecting our hopes that he will grow strong and command respect. And Yang means ‘to raise’ or ‘to elevate,’ which fits perfectly with our dreams for him to lift others up and shine brightly in the world.”

He gazes at the baby, warmth flooding his heart. “Together, Wei Yang embodies ‘Powerful Elevation.’ It’s a name that carries strength and positivity, just like him. I couldn’t have chosen better.”

Six Years Later

Now six years old, Wei Yang possesses a mind more complex than that of an average child his age. Although he cannot remember anything from his past life, he has matured far beyond the typical six-year-old. Over the years, he has learned that he lives on a continent called DaLou, which is divided into five regions: East, West, South, North, and Central. Each region is home to various countries, and this particular area of the continent is known as an immortal cultivation land, where everyone seeks the Dao in pursuit of immortality.

In DaLou, cultivation is divided into several realms, each representing a step in the journey toward transcendence:

1. Mortal Realm (I to IX)

2. Foundation Establishment Realm

3. Core Formation Realm

4. Nascent Soul Realm

5. Spirit Severing Realm

6. Immortal Ascension Realm

In this world, strength is the only currency that matters. Wei Yang has been born into the Wei Family, a small martial arts family in Huanggu Town. Although described as a "small martial arts family" compared to the vast powers of the continent, the Wei family is considered the most prosperous in their local area. Their prosperity is attributed to their patriarch, who is at the 9th layer of the Nascent Soul Realm, along with numerous elders ranging from the 5th to 7th layers of the Nascent Soul Realm. Additionally, they boast dozens of core disciples at the middle to peak stages of the Core Formation Realm, as well as over a thousand external and internal disciples, ranging from the 9th layers of the Mortal Realm to the 9th layers of the Foundation Establishment Realm.

Huanggu Town is situated in the southern part of the South Region, an area known for having the lowest Qi concentration in the atmosphere. This lack of Qi makes the South Region the weakest among all regions, while the Central Region stands as the strongest, home to many prosperous countries and powerful families.

Furthermore, Huanggu Town embodies the essence of the Ming Dynasty, where five great families govern the country: Huang, Chu, Yuan, Hua, and Xing. Collectively known as the Five Grand Royal Families, they wield significant influence and power within the country.

Wei Yang is currently six years old, but his maturity and awareness of his surroundings set him apart from his peers. He understands the harsh reality of a world where the strong dominate the weak. Over the years, he has dedicated himself to cultivating in the Mortal Realm, striving to reach its peak.

In this continent, individuals awaken their Dantian at the age of fourteen, marking a critical period in their growth. Upon awakening their Dantian, they can directly breakthrough into the Foundation Establishment Realm. Those who achieve higher levels in the Mortal Realm at the time of awakening will establish a stronger foundation. This is why many families pressure their younglings to begin their training at an early age. Those who fail to awaken their Dantian will remain mere mortals, unable to seek the Dao.

What truly sets Wei Yang apart, however, is his unique perspective. Although he appears to be a typical six-year-old, he possesses the awareness and maturity of a twenty-two-year-old man who has lived a some how semi-full life. His courage and determination to cultivate in a world that values strength above all make him an extraordinary individual, unmatched by his peers.

Currently, Wei Yang is training in his family’s backyard, an area typically reserved for the patriarch's use. As the son of the patriarch, he has access to abundant resources and special treatments that many others do not.

At this moment, Wei Yang is practicing a set of fist techniques known as the “36 Basic Fist Movements.” He has been training in this discipline since he was five years old, and at six, he is already on the brink of mastering it. Among his peers, he is regarded as exceptionally talented for achieving mastery of this moveset at such a young age.

As the sun began to set, Wei Yang completed his training and hurried back to his father’s workspace, the patriarch's office. He approached his father slowly, bowing with both hands, and said, “Father, I have mastered the 36 Basic Fist Movements and advanced to the fifth layer of the Mortal Realm. Now, I wish to progress further and seek more of your guidance.”

Wei Zhen looked up, surprised by his son’s words. He thought to himself, “This child has already mastered the 36 Basic Fist Movements at just six years old. Such talent is comparable to that of the younglings from royal families.” Over the years, Wei Zhen had never pressured Wei Yang to cultivate, so his son's achievements came as a pleasant surprise.

After a while, Wei Zhen stand up from where he sits, and came to a bookshelf nearby, bring out a book that has a name “Resilient Mortal Balance”,

Wei Zhen focused his Qi, wrapping it around the book, and commanded it to glide swiftly toward Wei Yang. “This cultivation method will help stabilize your cultivation and will be invaluable after you awaken your Dantian,” he explained.

Hearing this, Wei Yang felt a surge of happiness. “Thank you, Father! I will do my best and make a name for our family in the future.”

Wei Zhen burst into hearty laughter. “Good son! I look forward to that, hahaha!”.

Exiting his father's workroom, Wei Yang noticed that it was already night at the Hai time (approximately 9 PM to 11 PM). He thought to himself, “Father has to work so hard as the patriarch of the family; I can't afford to slack off.”

Returning to his room, he immediately opened the book and skimmed through its contents.

Resilient Mortal Balance—Upon learning this skill, a person's skin and flesh become more defined, allowing them to absorb a small amount of the sun's and moon's essence, which aids in balancing their cultivation.

After some time spent in comprehension, Wei Yang decided to cultivate the Resilient Mortal Balance skill by meditating throughout the night. It turns out that his achievements weren't merely due to talent; they were the result of his relentless effort, day and night. However, in the Mortal Realm, he understood that he couldn’t cultivate all night without reaching his limits and risking his health. Therefore, he resolved to stop meditating at Yin time (between 3 AM and 5 AM) and get some sleep.
