Rein could see the gates up ahead. Many students were flooding through them for their last day of the semester. Rein however would only be here for an hour today to graduate middle school. He could see a familiar face up ahead waving James. James was an exchange student from Australia and was the total opposite from the stiff and uprightness that was society in Japan. James was also Reins best friend throughout middle school and Rein had confided all his issues he was having with his family. He was his friend he felt understood and accepted him his laid back attitude was a panacea to Reins stress. Rein felt his family treated him like he didn't exist. His sister who was his twin looked nothing like him he definitely took after his father's side looks wise mostly Japanese looking but his eyes were blue like his mother. His sister went to a special middle school and was doted on by his mother and father. He could never figure out why a high class institution would accept someone that as far as he knew averaged a C- to B- in the end he decided it didn't matter he would outclass her in grades. Really he just wanted to be acknowledged but no matter what he tried whether it be grades or working a part time job neither got any response. Sports weren't really an option as he was paper thin and pretty short of his age. Eventually he gave up trying to get their attention and hung out with James playing games and just tried to forget about his family. The only person he had who understood his issues was James. The family he was staying with was really kind and didn't mind them hanging out there.

{This is the last change we'll get to see each other for awhile since he's going back to Australia after graduation. He said he'd come back for high school here but I think that's doubtful. If he doesn't come back I'll save up and exchange to over there}(Rein)

As Reign got closer James stuck out his hand and they both shook hands and bumped their shoulders together.

[Oh come on you remember the first time I tried it. It turned into the most awkward moment of the year for me.](Rein)

[I couldn't forget it was the first time I had a Japanese person loosen up while being with me.](James)

A bell chimed a sign that this part of their lives was coming to an end.

[Lets go we've only got the morning here then we should hang out before you leave tomorrow.](Rein)

James sighed nodding. They both look at the familiar building and start walking towards the hall.

                    **1 hour later**

James and Rein head out of the hall. Some of the students had tears in the eyes.

They walked out of gates heading down the street towards the crossing.

[Man it's going to suck without you. The other guys in our class were more like acquaintances. I still remember when I saw you with your Blonde hair looking around like an idiot not sure where to go for class.](Rein)

They checked for cars and started crossing the road.

[Oh common I know my Japanese was terrible then but I wasn't that bad it's hard to read those maps they give you...](James)

As they reached the other side there was a large sound from their left. It seemed James noticed it a split second before Rein as he felt himself be kicked forward from behind. Rein turned around just in time for him to see James leg still out from the kick be hit by and roll over a car.

[NOOO! JAMES](Rein)

Rein rushed over to where James bloodied body was sitting on his leg still under the car. He saw the leg under the car and without thinking started to try and lift the side of the car. He could feel his muscles straining as he looked down at James body barely breathing. Suddenly a huge surge of strength hit him the car gradually began to lift up a little. He shoved James's out of the way as he felt his arm muscles snapping one by one. He released the car looking kneeling down at James side.

[HELP!!!](Rein)

Rein began shouting desperate for someone to save James. People that had witnessed these unfolding events began moving again rushing towards both of them. Rein looked at his hands covered in blood from James. Staring at the blood on his hands and the blood pooling around James a sudden smell hit Rein. So sweet...his hands went to his nose and mouth to stop the smell which made him feel euphoric and suddenly starving. This however was the wrong move as the scent of the blood on his hands made him ravenous. He had to taste it and see why this blood smelled so good. Continuing covering his nose and mouth he licked his hand.

{Oh! God...Why is is so good}(Rein)

That taste was amazing he had to have more, he looked down at James desperately searching for the source of his blood he wanted to drink directly from the source. But a crowd had gathered around now with some of them pressing on James wounds trying to save him. He wanted to get rid of them and have it all to himself. Reins eyes settled on James face. His best friend limp barely breathing barely recognizable as alive.

{Wait...no that's James what am I doing he saved me. This smell I was about to attack these people and let James die. I...I can't}(Rein)

Rein continued to struggle against the urges to anyone else he looked in shock but he was fighting desperately not to hurt James and the crowd until the ambulance arrived. With it's arrival he felt pure relief as it washed over him, he felt so tired all of a sudden he gave in and he collapsed.
