"Wade, I like you!". Exclaimed the fifth girl that asked him out that day. Wade turned towards her and, with a cold look on his face told her to leave his sight.
The girl then teared up and ran the opposite way leaving Wade all alone in the classroom. Wade, still sitting in his bench while holding his novel
disregarded the girl and kept reading it as he found pleasure in the distraction it gives from his environment.
Wade hasn't always been so cold as he in fact was an outgoing and fun guy in the past. But ever since the betray he's gone through at a young age, everything changed.
Wades childhood friend Emily who is also the most popular girl in school and his crush bowed down and asked him out when he was still in his first years. Wade couldn't
believe it. He's mind went blank and he couldn't even utter a single word. Emily still bowing down looked up awaiting his response. Wade took a deep breath and finally and replied
"Yes, I've always liked you two". Wade continued "Your the best memorie I've....". "HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!", Wade stopped speaking and turned around, seeing the entire class
giggling and laughing. He then turned towards Emily who's already laughing loudly while covering her stomach with her hands. "You should've seen you're face" she exclaimed while laughing, trying to hold back the tears in her eyes.
Wade, still standing their looking shocked couldn't take it anymore and in his attempt to walk away. He tripped on his shoelaces and fell on top of Emily making a nasty wound in her elbow.
The class that was filled with laughter was suddenly filled with gasps as everyone ran towards Emily helping her stand up. Wade not knowing what to do thought about getting the teacher, so he ran outside leaving Emily and the rest of the class in the classroom. He then ran back into the classroom since he couldn't find the teacher.
Wade then spots his teacher and father together with Emily while the rest of the class stood behind them and observed. "Why would you hurt Emily know willingly". Wade, shocked first then replied
"It was an accident!", trying to convince the teacher that it was all an accident and that he didn't mean to but it was all in vain as the teacher looked at Emily and asked her if it was true and she replied, "No!". Wade widened his eyes and before he could say anything, his father, who only heard that Wade had beat up a girl lifted his hand and gave Wade a nasty slap, sending him flying backwards. Wade looked at his father with tears in his eyes. "I never raised you to be a mistreater,
I didn't bring you into this world to hurt people". He's father continued "I'm deeply disappointed in you, useless kid!!". Wade stared at his father with tears streaming down his face and then
at his classmate, teachers and finally Emily who tried avoiding eye contact with him. Wade's father then pulled him up and took him home.
His life that was peaceful and enduring suddenly became hell as his father's started beating him up for every single mistake he did ever since the incident. Even simple things like accidentally

missing a spot when cleaning and if he's life couldn't get any worse. Rumors started spreading all across the school, calling Wade a bully, mistreater and even a pervert.
His classmate ignored him and even when bullied by bullies, teacher's who often helped him at those times, Ignored him. Wade still at a young age at that point thought about how it would be if
he just vanished from the earth and never came back. Several years has past since then and Wade is now a handsome and athletic guy who is not only good at sport but scores straight A's at his tests.
Wade closed the novel and went home after reading the fifth chapter. On his way home, he thought about his goals and rules of his life:
TO NEVER TRUST A HUMAN.....EVER AGAIN!!!!
Wade, who now reached the familiar doorway of his home took of his shoes and entered into the house not forgetting to lock the door behind him. Wade walked towards his room hopping not to meet anyone in the way. As Wade entered the room. someone familiar to him sat on his bed, seemingly waiting for him. Wade, who is not even shocked looked at the intruder and asked, "What are you doing in my room". he took a small pause and said with a hint of disgust "Dad!". The intruder, seemingly his dad, gazed at Wade while appearing to contemplate his next action. He seemed uncertain but said "Wade, I'm sorry". "Sorry?", Wade thought. "What are you sorry for? For ruining my childhood, beating me up? Why didn't you say it before? Why now? "
These thoughts kept flowing in Wade's mind. The father, observing his sons silence, said, "I know I was harsh on you, but come on", he continued," Be a man and move on,"with a hint of sarcasm. "A man?", Wade thought. Wade looks at his father indifferently but doesn't reply. The father now done with Wade's silence stood up and said "If you don't stop this madness then your leaving this house!! You never speak to anyone but that stupid book your reading, not even your family, stop this nonsense and just move on already!".
Wade, who seemed to expect that such a response would come turned around to leave. The father confused by Wades action, asked, "What are you doing". Wade, not turning back to look at his father replied, "I'm leaving and…". Wade took a small pause and continued, "Thanks for taking care of me" while opening the door, initiating his leave. "Wade, your not thinking strai….", he tried uttering but was cut of by Wade as Wade responded with, "I've been planning to leave this house for years, so i started working at a library nearby, giving me enough money to clear my expenses for years to come.".
Wade, shut the door behind him and walked towards the exit only to find his mother and sister seemingly waiting for him. Wade ignored them and opened the door out but was suddenly stopped by his little sister saying, "Wade, stop!! I know your mad but that was the past, please can't we go back to how we used to be. We often played together but ever since the incident you never spoke to any of us". Wade replied saying "Where were you when everyone started blaming me? Where were you when dad hit me? Tell me!!! Why didn't you believe me those times? and finally, Why did you ignore me when i needed help from the bullies, and from dad?". "Wade, i'm sorry" she uttered but silence came to the room as Wade replied "It's to late". Wade closed the door and thought back to days times when he always got hit, bullied, punched. He did tell his parents but they just ignored him, even his sister saw him as a hooligan. Wade doesn't know how long they've been doing that to him but he knows that it's been over 5 years. He's now done with them and feels no remorse on what he's currently doing. Why would he, when they never felt it for him?
Wade later arrived at his new apartment, small but manageable. He then laid down in his bed without taking of his clothes, drifting into a deep sleep.
As the morning light filtered through the windows and pierced Wades eyes, Wade found himself in the classroom reading the novel while trying to forget yesterdays events. The bell rings and his classmates starts pouring in. Wade closes his novel and picks up his books in his bag, getting ready for the lesson. The teacher then came into the classroom and starts presents a new student. Wade couldn't care less as his focus was now in the window, contemplating his budget use, now that he lives alone. The teacher then asked the new student to speak about herself. The student then stood in front of the class and said "Hello, my name is Emily and I'm more than happy to learn to know y'all". Wade, after hearing the familiar name gazed at the new student. His eye's widened….
"Emily?"
