Boredom, and a struggle.

Chapter 1: Boredom.

- Everything becomes boring when you conquer the top of the world.

_____

“It’s harder than I thought.”

Luke, a man with black hair, two small blue horns on his head and dressed in a white, orange and green cloak, and black pants, muttered as he controlled silk threads to cut the pseudo-dimensional curtain that protects the temple of the God of Time from invasions.

Your goal is obviously to enter the place.

The extremely fine, transparent silk threads, so fine that they were impossible to see with the naked eye, skillfully cut through the dimensional fabric that wrapped the colorful portal. It wouldn't be long before Luke finally managed to break into the temple.

Who was he and how did he get there? Luke and how did he get here? The answer to this question is complex, but to summarize…

The first in the ranking of lords of affliction and violence. The most powerful in the hell dimension, and above all, the one who can cut through everything.

Luke, the demigod with the translucent sword.

Despite all these impressive achievements, he was not born that way; such feats were achieved through heavy training in his main ability: the thread capable of cutting the soul.

Luke discovered this ability when he was about to die to a demon, and suddenly, the creature that threatened his life was torn in half, and fell to the ground; its exposed organs were covered in blood.

Initially, the most he could cut were trees, but Luke, amazed by the new skill he had acquired, simply went into ecstasy; he, once someone who couldn't even feel mana, and now, he had a way to defend himself! He had become capable of fighting back! Finally… he became capable of governing.

However, despite awakening an ability like this, when he entered fights with stronger opponents, Luke had to admit a bitter fact: his ability was essentially weak, and what's worse; it was a rule-breaking ability; rule-breaking abilities, despite not following the natural laws of the universe and having their own rules — many of which don't even make sense —

were essentially weak abilities. Of course, there are exceptions, but they are rare.

Cut monsters instantly and cleanly? Anyone can do this using mana. Luke's ability was only limiting, however, with the fire this ability newly lit in his heart, he began to train every day and improve this ability.

He evolved to such an extent that he managed to cut a planet in half. However, this was not his greatest feat. His name only became known throughout the dimension after he defeated the ruler of the Lords of Afflictions. After that, he became the new lord.

Luke became an exception.

Rulers of Afflictions were the most powerful in all of Hell, and could do whatever they wanted; of course who would want to pick a fight with someone who could destroy a continent?

Luke had become like most Lords of Afflictions; a hedonistic guy; but unlike them, he didn't cause any trouble, he just trained the skill all day, and only stopped to rest and eat.

It went on like this until one day, he became bored; he had already achieved everything a man could dream of, and was at the top of the food chain, yet he felt empty.

Luke had already traveled to many places, been around many people, tried many culinary delicacies, studied many subjects, culture and religion, and none of these things made his heart shine again.

Although Arthur Schopenhauer did not exist in the infernal world, his phrase did exist: life is a constant between the desire to have and the boredom of possessing. Based on these words, Luke made a decision: he had to get out of there.

Now, Luke wanted to discover new dimensions, new planets, travel to new places, and experience new cultures.

Of course, that was what Luke thought he wanted. In the end, he was just bored; the desire to see new places wasn't a desire; in fact, he was just doing it for someone else; Lucy.

Lucia was the daughter of Luke's neighbor, who, on a certain starry night, before dying of fever, she asked him if alternate dimensions existed.

Luke was never very close to Lucia; he didn't even have a friendly relationship with her, and he was only with her at that moment because her mother, Suse, gave him food sometimes, however, on a night equally as starry as the night she died, he remembered that.

Of course, that wasn't the main reason; in truth Luke just wanted to fight to the death with the most powerful God in hell; traveling and seeing new places is a goal for after this dimension is destroyed in the fight.

Yes, boredom takes man to unimaginable places.

And now, he was here; in space, trying to cut through the pseudo-dimensional curtain that surrounded the temple of the God of time and space.

Traveling to other dimensions involved manipulating the fabric of reality. While Luke could simply cut through the dimension, such a feat would cost him his life; cutting through the fabric of a dimension would push him beyond the limits of what his body could withstand, and it could destroy the Hell dimension. Furthermore, as much as the current Luke didn't care about his own life, a death like that didn't seem like much fun to him.

Finally, the pseudo-dimensional curtain of the temple parted, and Luke entered, cutting through the gates, and landing gently in the middle of the stone floor.

'Hm, is there oxygen here? I don't know how his powers work, but this isn't scientific.', Luke thought, only to later let out a little laugh: he, a being who could cut cells using silk threads invisible to the naked eye, questioned the logic in the powers of a God who could control space and time.

He looked around towards the middle of the temple, and saw Yuki, the God of Time, sitting in an armchair.

After Yuki and Luke exchanged glances, the God of Time finally opened his mouth.

“I don’t know whether to call you suicidal or arrogant.”

“It’s not my fault you don’t have any guards outside. Besides, the rumors that you’re antisocial are true, apparently.”

Luke carefully analyzed the appearance of the God of Time, and was not surprised to realize that he was a handsome man, thin but muscular, and his clothes were colorful, and he was… eating an acarajé.

He… is he Brazilian?

“I'll give you 5 seconds to get out of here.”

The God exuded an imposing aura, but this did not intimidate Luke.

“What if I don’t leave?”

Yuki looked straight into Luke's eyes.

“you will die.”

“And you too.”

“...”

A silence fell over the place, mainly because what they both said was true; a fight between Yuki and Luke would kill them both, however, Luke doesn't care if he dies or not; he wants to have fun. And Yuki knows that. That's why he's trying to negotiate: he knows that Luke is as powerful as he is. If he wasn't, he would have killed him as soon as he touched the temple floor. No, he would kill him before even cutting the pseudo-dimensional fabric that surrounded the temple.

If Luke just wanted to travel to other dimensions, he would just offer the God of Time a fair deal: either you open the portal, or we both die in a fight. But Luke didn't just want to go to other dimensions; he also wanted to enjoy a life-or-death battle with a powerful God.

Luke manipulated a silk thread and tried to cut Yuki, who manipulated the space so that the thread reached a spot a few centimeters from the armchair.

“Yeah… you’re suicidal.”

After saying this, the temple god stood up from his seat.

“Hm, it looks like our fight is about to begin. How are you going to attack me? Using telekinesis? Stopping time?”

“I only do this with low-level opponents. Co

m you are different.”

The God of time smiled.

"Our game will be with black holes.”
