The two sat down and Hikari opened the lid on the roast. The meal smelled delicious, but it was a bit much for the elf. Thankfully, she had a drooling dragon beside her. Hikari smiled and began cutting it into pieces, serving herself and her dragon. The side was a mix of vegetables that seemed somewhat familiar.
Hikari looked at her dragon. Kurayami hesitated to eat before her master. She’s such a good one.
The elf wasted no more time and took the first bite. The roast was reminiscent of pork roast and well seasoned to boot. The taste delighted Hikari, but she felt it still could be better. Did I always have picky taste?
However, Kurayami was shoveling it down fast. In no time, the dragon had finished an entire plate and looked hopeful at the rest of the roast.
Hikari giggled. “You can eat the rest, you know? It’s too much for me. Ah, but first, I need to know what curse you put on that girl and her knights.”
The dragon nodded. “Thanks, Master. The curse I put on them is quite simple really. If they speak of your secret, their soul will be promptly destroyed. This leaves them with no way to return to life.”
Hikari sighed. “Was that much really necessary? Is it possible to lower the punishment?”
Kurayami gritted her teeth while putting more roast on her plate. “Master, you are too soft. This is considered a light punishment. If anyone breaks a contract with your greatness, the least they can expect is something like this. I wish you would consider your position, Master. For a mortal to go against you...I find it despicable.” The dragon couldn’t hide her open disdain from showing on her face, but it was quickly rectified when she put more roast in her mouth.
The elf shook her head. She could see why her dragon thought that. A human breaking a contract with a god sounded absurd. Even still, Hikari didn’t want to parade around as a goddess or think of herself as above everyone. “I ask that you lower the punishment.”
Kurayami grumbled between bites of food. “I understand, Master. In that case, I will change the punishment to death.” The dragon gazed at her master’s face, sensing the small change in expression. “I won’t lower it, Master.”
Hikari sighed and put her palms together. Please, don’t break the contract! She had no idea what god she was praying to. She wondered if her prayer would even reach anyone.
The elf sensed that a change of subject was required. Her dragon had too many attacks on her mood. “I am thinking of summoning someone else.”
Kurayami dropped her food and clasped Hikari’s shoulders. “You can’t, master!”
Hikari tilted her head. “Why not? I have enough mana, and it will be a lower summon.”

“That’s not what I mean...Wait, which one was Master planning on?” The dragon’s intense gaze wavered.
“No need to give me those looks. I just plan on summoning Senjo.”
The dragon released her master and sat back on her seat. “If Master summons that one, it’s fine, but what do you plan on using her for?”
“I have a feeling something interesting will happen. I want her to investigate the matter of the skeletons.”
“If it’s just that then…”
“I won’t use you for something so simple.” Hikari remembered the warmth of the dragon’s tail and the kiss earlier. The blush that briefly covered her cheeks would have been missed by most. “I prefer having you by my side.”
Kurayami gave Hikari a knowing smile. “In that case, I will remain next to Master.”
The elf nodded and stood up, gripping her golden staff. She looked at the intricate [Staff of the Brilliant Void] and smiled. She vividly remembered the flavor text of the staff in game. If the black hole is a place where no light can escape, this staff is a void of brightness and brilliance, seemingly amplifying the light user’s ability infinitely.
The small bells dangling off the end weren’t originally part of this staff. They were something added by Hikari later as an enchantment slot. What will happen if I appraise it now?
[Staff of the Brilliant Void]
Intelligence: 999,999,999
Wisdom: 999,999,999
Mana: 999,999,999
-The owner of this staff, **** ******, can never change. As long as this staff lives, there is hope….
Hikari quickly closed the status before she could continue reading whatever absurd thing it would say next. She did have a curiosity, but wasn’t that staff stupid? Why is it even stronger than me!
“Master, is something wrong?”
“No! It’s nothing! I’ll summon her now.” She channeled her mana into the staff, and the bells chimed. A small black circle appeared in the air, and it was like a puff of a cloud. After a second, Senjo appeared in the air.
The fairy stood at no taller than 15 centimeters. She had long black hair with purple highlights, and her black fluttering wings glowed with purple. Purple fairy dust poured onto the ground below her. The small creature’s eyes were pale black, and they appeared listless—as if always on the verge of falling asleep. She wore a beautiful ethereal dress.
Senjo yawned deeply. Her small mouth opened and quiet words flowed. “I answer your summons, Queen.”
Hikari smiled. She’s so cute!

Hikari’s eyes widened. The fairy’s stats were unexpectedly closer to game levels. If you considered the elf’s original stat values, the fairy in front of her came close. The only exception was the infinite health, stamina, and really low strength. Fairies were impossible to kill by normal means, so it was not beyond expectation. Yet, why is she so old! Did game lore carry over into this world? Fairies were always said to be old.
The elf refused to acknowledge herself as older than 21. She shook those thoughts and finally spoke to the slothful fairy. “I have a task for you. I need you to investigate someone called Gregore and find out if its related to a skeleton attack. Can you do it?”
Senjo closed her eyes and opened them slowly. “It will be done, my queen."
