Chapter 31

Yuuta didn't really know what to do. He couldn't just leave May on the side of the road. he sighed looking up at the setting sun he decided on setting up camp and dealing with it tomorrow.

May was still a mess she didn't let anybody but Yuuta get close to her. She was insisting on burying her father before they set up camp so Yuuta made the preparations carrying his body to a nice clearing in the tree line it wasn't much but it's better than nothing.

Using earth magic he created a deep hole for the body. May wanted some alone time so Yuuta left her but stayed within eyesight. He hadn't seen any monsters but he couldn't be certain they weren't around.

The main roads between cities where regularly patrolled so it was usually safe to travel even without a guard. After about an hour May was done and they walked back to the road together.

"Sorry about your dad I wish I could have shown up sooner." Yuuta tried to show some empathy he was always an awkward duck when it came to comforting people.

"Thanks, Yuuta I'm just glad you saved me before Holland Umm.... you know." Her cheeks turned red remembering what almost happened it made her stomach churn and nearly gag.

"Me too people like Holland don't deserve to live just thinking about makes my blood boil." Yuuta tensed balling his fist if he was any more pissed steam would be coming out of his ears.

His rage was starting to take over when he felt a small hand trying to grab his. Looking over his shoulder May was holding her petite hand over his. Her face went redder than a tomato. He gave a small chuckle her reactions were actually pretty cute.

"Thanks for getting mad for me but you don't have to you saved me so don't worry about it ok!" Her words calmed him down they really didn't make sense but she was being so perky it was hard to stay mad.

"Ok, you win." His words made her giggle. After a couple of minutes, they made it back. Terra was busy rolling the dead bodies to the side of the road. The carriage was no good the insides were covered in blood. He didn't blame May for not wanting to be in a room covered in her father's blood. Grabbing a couple of bedrolls they decided on traveling a couple of miles down the road before setting up camp.

"Here goes nothing!" 4 dirt walls slowly shot up from the ground connecting at the top. He split the small cottage into two rooms one for him the other for the girls.

"It's not much but should be better than a tent. You guys can have the bigger room so make yourselves comfortable I'm gonna go hunt for some food." Yuuta went leave and again felt a small hand grab his.

"Is something wrong May?"

"Umm... can I go with you?" Yuuta gave a small sigh she was already attached to him. He wasn't dense every girl he came into contact with ended up attracted to him. It was becoming a real problem and he dreamed of the day he figured how to turn it off.

"I'll only be gone for a minute you should just hang out with Terra I'll be right back." Yuuta had to physically pry her hand off of his. She gave a pout and stomped her way into the small house. He felt a little guilty but Terra was more than capable of protecting her.

In less than an hour, Yuuta got his hands on what looked like a deer from his old world. If the dear had tusks and was 3 meters tall. The meat was a little tough but not bad at all. The sun had set and the group was sitting around the fire enjoying their meal.

"Umm Yuuta you're going to stay with me right," May asked with her best puppy dog eyes. It wasn't needed it wasn't like he was going to leave her on a road by herself.

Terra seemed to get tired of Mays act pretty early on instead of contributing she pulled out a book ignoring the conversation.

"Yes, May I'll take you with me to the capital I'm meeting the king anyways so it's no inconvenience to me." A smile lit up her face as if she won something but Yuuta didn't pay much attention.

Terra let out an annoyed groan and excused herself. Not much later May said good night and went into the cottage as well. Yuuta decided to use the free time for some void magic training, sitting cross-legged he practiced the clairvoyance spell. After an hour of his eyes closed and no success, he ended up drifting in and out of sleep.

Barely able to keep his head up he decided to call it a night. Putting the fire out with some "water magic" he walked into his room and to no surprise at all May was sleeping in there. He went to the other room and Terra was fast asleep in her own room.

Yuuta grabbed his bedroll and brought it into Terra's room it was the bigger of the two and was hopefully less likely to cause a misunderstanding. May was a Duchess he didn't want to start some crazy political war because he slept in the same room as her.

Getting ready to lay down he felt more exhausted than usual and that's when he remembered the magic stone pulling it out of the sack it was almost red hot now. His mana was still swirling into it at insane rates no wonder he felt so tired his mana was getting sucked out of him.

Yuuta sighed he was tired of this giant hot rock and was happy to sell it to Avenci when he reached the capital. He put it back into the sack and threw it into the corner of the room. He set up his bedroll as far away as he could from Terra and quickly drifted off to sleep.

*************************************************

Of course like a magnet, he woke to a hand on his chest and Terra's legs tangled around his. Somehow she rolled across the room to him sometime during the night.

For a minute the half-asleep Yuuta forgot where he was. Thinking he was back in Yuart sleeping In bed with Ria he rolled over and kissed Terra on the neck.

Terra's eyes fluttered to a new sensation she never felt before. The strange feeling radiated from her neck and made its way to her jaw. It felt foreign but also pleasant. Letting out a moan her eyes focused on Yuuta's lips about to kiss her. The quiet forest erupted from Terra's scream. Birds from miles away took flight to get away.

Yuuta's eyes shot open realizing what happened he started laughing Uncontrollably. Terra didn't find it as funny her face bright red with a pissed look in her eyes.

"What the fuck Yuuta!!." Her rage even scared him a little." why would you do that to me!?"Her eyes tearing up "I'm a woman you can't play with me like I'm some toy!"

Yuuta couldn't wipe the smile off his face watching her get so worked up. Terra unsheathed her sword and started taking swings at the smiling dimwit.

Yuuta quickly ducked out of the way almost losing his head. "Sorry Er, well... Umm, I was half asleep and forgot where I was I thought you were Ria."

Terra took another swing not convinced. " Do you do those kinds of things to Ria when's she sleeping you perverted beast!!"

Yuuta's smile turned a little sinister as she took a another swipe at him. Catching her hand he pulled the sword out of her hand throwing it to the ground. "Ria is my fiancé we do way more than just kiss in the morning." Yuuta gave her a wink her jaw dropped open in shock at his words. She quickly did a 180 trying to control her facial expressions. She started muttering incoherent words to herself.

Yuuta gave a chuckled picking up the stone and walking out of the room letting Terra compose herself. May was waiting by the door her face just as red as Terra's. She was clearly eavesdropping on their conversation.

"Well let's pack up I'm supposed to be in Referia by midday." May looked at him quizzically.

"And how are supposed to do that were still two days away by horse and a week by walking." Terra started laughing at May who became even more confused.

"Each of you grab a hand let's get moving." Terra now composed quickly grabbed his hand excited for the what was about to happen. May had no problem either she was just happy to hold Yuuta's hand.

With a loud whoosh they took off from the ground May screamed while Terra was ready this time and enjoyed the sensation of weightlessness. Before May could say anything Yuuta kicked it into high gear rushing towards Referia. May seemed to be taking it better than Terra did the first time she flew.

"This is awesome Yuuta!" She seems to be enjoying it so he picked up the pace even more. Everything became a blur even the clouds flew by like white flashes. Wasting no time It only took an hour before the familiar sight of the cylinder skyscraper that was the mages guild came into view.

May's body relaxed at the sight of her home she felt a sense of relief. Tears started rolling down her cheeks at the thought of having to tell her mother about what happened. Yuuta gave her a hand a comforting squeeze when he noticed the tears. Deciding on skipping the city gate he headed straight for the castle it was his first time getting this close. It was giant with even the cliche moat that surrounded it. He couldn't help look to see if there where alligators.
