The town of Moonbright was a normally quiet town until one day, strange events kept occurring frequently. Car accidents, unexplained building collapses, and even news of a dead body would often appear on the news with no explanation of what happened to the victims. The town lived in fear of a possible curse haunting the residents but alas, life must go on and they have to keep trying to survive daily life, only hoping they won’t end up the next victims. 

*Yaawwwn* Jessie stretched as he got done cleaning the cafe and got prepared to head home for the night after working a long shift.  

“Oh done already? See you tomorrow Jess!”  Senya said to Jessie as he was clocking out.  

She was his coworker and she was quite pretty and popular with the customers. She had a slim build and long blond hair. Senya was working part-time as a college student along with Jessie. 

“Yeah, I just got done cleaning up the front.  Have a goodnight, Senya!” Jessie replied.

Jessie went out back and got changed out of his work clothes, his masculine-toned build, and dark short hair reflecting off the locker. 

Jessie got into his car and drove home wondering if he’ll ever find his one true love. He has experiences before but they always end up not working out. Ready to head to bed as he arrives home, Jessie notices a strange creature on his couch. 

It resembles a penguin but why would a penguin be in his home Jessie wondered to himself. However, suddenly to his surprise, it started to speak. 

“Hehe. Be grateful mortal for I, the great Lulu, have graced you with my presence. “ said the creature. 

“W-what are you?” Jessie asked. 

“Hmph, did you not hear me? I said I am THE great Lulu” replied Lulu 

“ I sense great magical potential in you and therefore you shall be my new servant from now on.” 

“Huh?! Don’t I get a say in this??” Jessie said. 

Then a blue bracelet appeared on Jessie’s arm and it started glowing.

Jessie’s clothes disappeared and he was suddenly nude. “AAH, what the “ he yelled while covering himself. 

Magical blue and white clothes appeared on him along with a cape, resembling a knight. His bracelet turned into a long sharp blade that felt cold to the touch. 

“Hm, not bad for my new servant. Yes yes, this will do.” Lulu nods in approval. 

“What.. is going on Lulu..” Jessie asked, confused about his new transformation and weapon.

“Hmm, I guess you can say you’ve become a magical boy. Prepare yourself for there is an enemy nearby already.” Lulu said.

“An enemy?! Where?” Jessie asked 

“ With your sudden transformation and a magical surge of energy, you’ve become a target of the Dark Lord’s minions,” Lulu said. 

 Just then a roar can be heard from outside of his home. A creature was heading towards Jessie quickly. 

“I’ve placed a magical field, no one should be aware of what’s happening, and don’t worry about the destruction, it’ll be reset once I remove the field,” Lulu explained.

Jessie headed outside and there he saw the creature. It was a large shadow catlike creature, it had large fangs and claws, clearly easy to rip apart his flesh. 

“Why do I feel so strong? It’s like I was meant to hold this blade.”  Jessie wondered to himself. 

“Your blade is imbued with ice magic, from yours truly, be grateful I’m here to aid you,”  Lulu said while floating around in her chibi form. 

“Now go defeat that creature, servant!”

Jessie grasp his blade tightly and charged at the enemy. His blade created frost along his path as he ran. 

The catlike monster leaped towards him and attempted to tear at his throat.  However, Jessie quickly deflected its claws and rolled out of the way. 

The beast screamed in pain as the frost slowly freezes the claw of the beast where it deflected off the blade. 

“Whoa..that’s so cool!” Jessie said in the excitement of his new abilities.

“Hey! Summon your ice shards at the enemy. Focus and freeze your surroundings.” Lulu yelled from the back.

Jessie tried to listen to her advice and closed his eyes to concentrate. The blade grew colder and the air around him started to form multiple shards of sharp ice. 

The beast recovers and wastes no time and dashes at Jessie. However, it was too late as Jessie was done forming his ice shards.  He holds his blade up high and strikes it down towards the beast, the ice shards following along with the slash and it pierces through the beast’s body, killing it instantly. 

Jessie's clothes slowly returned to normal and the blade turned back into the bracelet on his arm. 

“Hmm, it seems like you’ve used up your magical energy for now. But you’ve done a good job, servant. “ Lulu said. 

“Sighhh… I’m way too tired. Let’s go back inside Lulu.” Jessie said. 

Jessie headed back to his home, followed behind by Lulu. 

“So what is this all about?” Jessie asked as he sat on his couch to relax. 

“Hm yes yes, I guess I owe you an explanation. I am Lulu, an Ice spirit. I am tasked with finding my other half to defeat the Dark Lord. “ Lulu said.

“And who is this Dark Lord exactly and why me?” Jessie asked.

“ The Dark Lord is an evil being located somewhere in this town. You’ve encountered one of his vile minions, and maybe noticed the increased death rate recently.”  Lulu said.

Jessie nods.

“You match my magical abilities quite well and it was easy for me to form a bond with you. Unfortunately, us alone will not be enough to defeat the Dark Lord.” Lulu said. 

“Is he that strong? Then what do we do…?” Jessie asked 

“Heheh, worry not my servant! We must find other scouts like you. We spirits have split up to find them.” Lulu said  

“According to my fellow spirit, Agni. There is another scout nearby the local dojo around here.” 

“Hmm…well the most well-known dojo is called the Raging Tigers Dojo,” Jessie said.

“Very well! We shall investigate that dojo tomorrow!” Lulu said with excitement.

“Huh? But I have to work…I guess I can ask Senya if I can leave early.” Jessie said. 

After a long day, Jessie finally gets to rest and prepares himself for tomorrow.
