Chapter 25: "Encounter"

Chapter 25: "Encounter"

Ron stepped out of the tavern, wandered aimlessly on the street for a while, and then walked a short distance in the direction away from the cemetery.

Prince was still following him.

Things were getting troublesome. He hadn't even found out where the rank - I vampire with blood - energy was, and yet he was already being targeted by another blood clan member.

Moreover, this whole thing was rather baffling. Prince had deliberately approached the table where he was sitting for no apparent reason, and then proposed that he be his guide. After being rejected, he started secretly following Ron.

What on earth did he find in me? Ron didn't think Prince was just randomly curious about him. There must be a reason for his persistent pursuit.

How could he make Prince stop following him?

Recalling Prince's words and deeds in the tavern, when Ron showed a puzzled expression, Prince stopped inviting him to be a guide, and that must have been when he decided to follow Ron.

At their first meeting, he was asking about the werewolf. Prince was already a noble, so he surely didn't want to become a semi - noble.

So, what might have attracted him was the matter itself. Charles's story was called "Wolf and Blood". If Ron's speculation was correct, this count was probably the perpetrator of this case.

And other vampires were likely also involved in this story. Prince, who appeared as a wandering knight, was probably one of the nobles acting opposite Charles in this drama.

That's why he asked about the werewolf first.

And Prince was following Ron, perhaps also expecting that Ron could bring him some interesting "stories", mistakenly thinking that Ron was one of the characters arranged for them by Elizabeth.

If that was the case, there were two ways to get rid of Prince.

The first was to make Prince realize he was wrong.

Or, make this vampire think he had already gotten what he wanted.

When the nobles' ball started, every commoner in the town would inevitably be drawn into it, and even Ron couldn't be spared.

But if he could take advantage of Prince's curiosity about him, he might obtain useful information.

For example, how to kill a vampire.

The way Prince asked questions was simply treating them like machines that would answer any question, just waiting for him to give an answer.

Putting himself in Prince's shoes, in his eyes, Ron was actually an actor already arranged, holding a script to serve them.

Then Prince couldn't possibly doubt the "lines" Ron said.

After all, Ron's existence in Innocent Town was to enrich the nobles' entertainment experience. He was just a commoner without any thoughts of his own.

How could he possibly lie?

Ron changed his route and walked towards the small house where the incident had occurred. Since Charles, disguised as a werewolf, had killed the family of three, Ron had never seen the three deceased commoners.

Noticing the destination Ron was heading towards, Prince got a little closer.

Before seeing the residence, the first to appear were two blood servants standing at the door. They stood there with cold faces.

"Ron?" Before he reached the door, a knight called out his name.

Ron slowly stopped in front of him.

"Are you calling me?"

The knight who spoke looked at him unkindly.

"Yes, stop right there."

Was this knight about to tell him that he had an assigned role while he was thinking about how to clear his suspicions?

But what the knight said caught him by surprise.

"You and Helen have separated, right?"

Ron slightly turned his body and looked at him.

"You're Fane?"

Fane was a bit surprised.

"You know me?"

But then his expression turned into one of contempt.

"That's even better. Since you know who I am, you'd better think carefully about whether you should stay away from Helen. Adjust your working hours so they don't overlap... You should be able to imagine what it means to offend a knight, right?"

The other knight showed no reaction to their conversation.

Ron asked expressionlessly.

"Do you think you have the guts to violate Lady Elizabeth's rules?"

Shane's face changed slightly, and he lowered his voice.

"Don't use the lady to pressure me, you lowly commoner. Put yourself in your place. I have countless ways to kill you. I'm a knight."

If it weren't on the street, he would have already swung his fist to teach this disrespectful commoner a lesson and make him kneel on the ground crying for mercy.

Pat, pat, pat...

Ron lowered his eyelids slightly, and his tone became less forceful.

"Even if you can do something to me, you can't win Helen's heart."

Shane showed a wild smile.

"No, I don't need to win anyone's heart. I just want this beauty's body. Before I became a knight, I killed even more lowly commoners. You just..."

A shout came from behind Ron.

"Are you bullying a commoner?"

A wandering knight wearing a mask walked indignantly past his side, standing diagonally in front of Ron on the left. Her right hand was on the hilt of her sword, and she looked at Shane with a cold expression.

No.

It wasn't Prince.

This wandering knight, dressed not much differently from Prince, was a woman.

[Vampire individual detected - biological level Ⅰ - 3]

Shane was enraged.

"What the hell are you..."

The female knight directly drew her long sword.

"Let's have a go at each other. I've heard that the knights in your Innocent Town are all inexperienced novices. Let me verify the truth of this rumor."

Shane was completely intimidated by her imposing manner.

"Are you crazy? Lord Jonas will kill you."

The female knight smiled.

"I'll kill you first."

Shane shouted, trying to sound fierce.

"Get lost. I don't have time to deal with your madness."

The female knight neatly sheathed her sword.

"If you don't have the ability, don't bark randomly."

After saying that, the female knight directly grabbed Ron's sleeve, pulled him away, and walked about thirty meters until they were in the middle of an alley before letting go. Only then did Ron have the chance to look at the female knight in front of him.

She covered the lower half of her face with a mask, and her clear eyes looked at Ron calmly.

"I'm Julia, commoner. You should say something, right?"

"Thank you. I'm Ron," he said nervously. "I'm the cemetery keeper in the town. I'm really grateful that you helped me out of that situation..."

Julia also took the opportunity to look at Ron a few more times. Nervousness was usually a minus in her eyes, but when she saw his handsome appearance, which was even more outstanding than most nobles after a bit of grooming...

So cute.

She nodded slightly.

"Take me to your place."

Ron showed a surprised expression.

"What?"

Julia said,

"I'm a wandering knight. I'm not used to staying in inns. If you want to repay me, then let me stay at your place for a while. Of course, if you mind, forget it."

Ron quickly shook his head.

"No, of course not. You've helped me, Miss Knight."

Julia smiled.

"Then let's go."

Ron hadn't expected this.

The "encounter" those knights mentioned turned out to be like this.

But that was okay...

Now he just had to find this "female knight's" brother.
