Moriarty inspect Hao Xu for a good few minutes. When questioned by Moriarty, his stare blank out as if his pupil was injected with mercury. In the end, Moriarty left the room after a few questions not forgetting to leave behind a couple of order.
Hao Xu silently glanced at the researcher expression, he was currently strapped onto the metal chair with a very tight piece of leather.
“Why is this so tough, it’s not budging!” Hao Xu leaks cold sweats as he try to budge from the chair.
Unexpectedly, a notification ring in his head.

Hao Xu almost screamed when the interface appeared without his notice.
“A mission? Rating C….” Hao Xu didn’t have much time to question the appearance of mission nor weigh his option, so he accepted the mission while barely moving his finger and closed the interface.
Another researcher walked toward the table with a few steps, while the other two researchers returned to their post and wrote down their report to the log onto the computer.
Hao Xu lay quietly, letting the old man remove the leather strapping onto his wrist and ankles, meanwhile, anxiously mustering up his courage.
When the last lock was removed, Hao Xu rally his strength and rushed away from the grasp of the researcher.
As he ran, he looked like a prisoner running away from the warden, not caring the slightness in the manner that he’s running.
There was no second opportunity, once the die was cast, the number will naturally roll. ‘But what if’ was not an option anymore, he didn’t hesitate after breaking free. All or nothing, that was always his game plan!
He quickly rushed toward the table where the various knifes and tools lays, completely disregarding the mess he made and the noises that follows.
“Little brat! What do you think you’re doing!” The researcher was perplexed, follow by a mad shout.
The author's content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
“Do you take me for an idiot?” Hao Xu ignored the researcher. He grabbed the knife on the table, for some reason, he felt a great jolt of familiarity when holding it in his palm.
This moment didn’t last long as he shook away that strange feeling to look toward his side.
“Jacob! Take out the taser gun!”
Thwack!
A flurry of knifes shot toward the researcher named Jacob!
Hao Xu stood quite close to Jacob prior to the shout, it was quite simple for him to aimed toward his enemy neck.
The remaining knives crashed against the opposite wall, causing several glass breaking sounds.
“No you don’t!” Hao Xu swiftly rushed toward the distraught researcher, with knife in hand, it barely took a breath of time to reach the target.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The bleeding came grazing pass his left arm. Hao Xu swung his knife toward the researcher throat, cleanly killing him off. After the death of its owner, the gun was left falling through the air before being grabbed by Hao Xu.
The timing between those two death was too quick for him to realized that he had just killed two people. Hao Xu fisted his palm together to stop his hand from shaking, then, he took aim at the last researcher in a proficient manner and pulled the trigger.
“Keep moving little hao...” Hao Xu ignored the pain on his left arm and quickly gathered his breath. The two guard has long heard the commotion.
If not for the earlier swift rush toward the researcher, the bullet would be through his body, not just grazing through his left arm.
Kachaa. Cchaa.
Shards of glass broke free as he hurls his body toward the thin window.
The unprepared guard raised his arm to block flying shards of glass.
Thump!
Hao Xu landed on the ground, with one arm dropped toward the ground and the other hand aiming at the guard.
Bang!
His finger flick the trigger, swiftly putting a bullet hole through the guard cranium.
At this moment, the other guard has long-drawn his gun, aiming at Hao Xu. He frantically storms to another room.
Hao Xu looked at the wound on his left arm, grunting, holding the gun up toward his sweaty face.
” There’s still a couple of bullets left. I have to be quick or Moriarty will come back for me.” His back laid back against the wall. Hao Xu opened the interface to check his status.

Hao Xu health status was not looking bright, on the other hand, he felt a sense of confidence after taking down the researchers and guard.
The [Low Grade Weaponry Efficiency] was the only arsenal he had in his hand at this moment. Despite never holding a gun before in his hand, he felt a sense of ‘home’ when firing one, he could only assume that this was attributed to the Low Grade Weaponry Efficiency skill.
As much as he questions the interface, the peculiar circumstance lay before him, he knew that the pain he’s feeling right now is real.
Hao Xu gathered his breath once again, listening closely to the footstep on the other side.
