I am a summon
Ch 1 Papers please

Ch 1 Papers please

There is a pile of paperwork, the first thing is like a soul contract but I pledge to a god that I will obey the whims of his subjects with like five caveats. That my moral standards are not violated, that the God's plans are not disrupted, that larger events are not destabilized, that I not cross contaminate with knowledge from the other worlds of that God and then there's the summon cost.

Who is this God? What is cost? How is it payed? What other worlds? Are there amenities? Do my sunnoners get to just call me to get my opinion on stuff?

THAT is what the paperwork is. Basically the past day of floating in the void has been reviewing all that.

The God is Teek, a god of cunning, trickery and construction. Overall a pretty nice guy, if prone to slightly grander pranks than normal.

The cost is a thing I extract on deployment, acting like a sort of investment, I get to take with me whatever I earn in excess of what it takes to deploy me. With Teek footing the bill until I have a resivior to work with, then he gets a cut of my profits.

I am what other gods refer to as a blood summon, meaning I require sacrafice to arrive in a place. Being that the sacrafice is both disconnected from the time and the place I am being summoned to means I'm basically self sufficient instead of being a satanic ritual.

Teek is worshiped in around 6 worlds enough to have a presence there, or at least that I am able to be summoned into. A few generic magic medieval places, a cyberpunk dystopia and two space agey worlds where Teek needs me to stop a few exterminations and incursions from noisy nabors.

This narrative has been purloined without the author's approval. Report any appearances on Amazon.

My lesure time is spent in this void sorta place, I get to fill it with stuff using the summoning juice to pull things from realities I like. Basically acting as a god with the jurisdiction of a suburban front yard, at least so far, I can expand it with some expenditure.

My summoner gets a mental link to me mostly so I can swap a big chunk of knowledge, pulling a switcheroo so I can get the basic brief of wtf to do and what I'll need to do it. Though it works a bit like anal and leaves a gaping hole one is want to use more often afterwards, and there are all sorts of warnings not to do it too often or there's gonna be some spillage.

I basically get to be a really tactile god, entirely indebted to another god and constrained by a contract. Priesthood provided unto those I do anal with too much. And nothing against spreading knowledge from worlds outside the influance of Teek, so I'll basically be figuring out what I can and cannot swap with people. Keeping an ear out about slipping into one of those somehow is basically a given but my deal here is pretty fair, as long as the prices stay reasonable. This isnt a game after all.

I still dont have a handle on the time stuff, but basically I sit and deal for as long as I need then when I subconsciously deem myself ready the chronologically next summoning gets linked to me. I think. There will be a pegboard and yarn here when I'm done with my kitchen.

Speaking on...

---

Teek was sure of it, the angel Gabriel was right. This soul, as course and directionless as was he would be an excellent candidate. His followers had spells for forming creatures from the ather, why not a God cast that threw his subjects?

Warnings from the angel, of promises and contracts made him think on his plan.

Surely it could work, surely the soul would welcome it, right?

Perhaps he would theorize on the implications for the various pantheons of gods later. His subjects distressed!

Klaxons blared, lights flashed and the ship rumbled from impacts, Ramses didn't move.

The heat of fire and moltem metal seared his skin and clothes but he didnt dare look away.

Out the viewport of shipbuilding scaffold was his planet, his homeworld.

It glowed like a star.
