But don't worry, I recovered in the end.
My first term at university was hell on earth. At 20 years old I was one of the older ones in my courses but probably the one who felt the least ready to start an adult lifestyle. I had severe acne ever since my early teenage years and when I say severe acne I mean it. Not only was my face covered with pimples which festered and hurt whenever I grimaced (by which I mean things like smiling or pretty much anything else you could do with your face - everything looked like a grimace on mine anyway) but also my entire upper body was covered with an outright acne massacre. It looked bad. My bad skin turned my whole body into a temple of shame. Never would I show it to anyone, nor would I talk about it.
On top of that (you've probably guessed it): I was a virgin. Never even kissed a girl. I was a short, hideous virgin in his early twenties with no social life or social skills whatsoever and it didn't look like anything was about to change anytime soon.

So how did I manage to somehow accidentally damage my brain to the point at which I fell into a long lasting coma, you ask? Like all good things it started with an internet trend.
Around the time of my first exams my anxiety started to kick in. I didn't go see a therapist and in hindsight it would have been a better idea but I wanted to take the convenient way of rather not confronting my problems that began shifting from moodiness to clinical depression. That's when I learned about binaural beats.
If you've never heard of binaural beats, I'll briefly introduce you to this rabbit hole. So a binaural beat is when each ear is exposed to a tone with a slightly different frequency. This, as I understand it, should somehow be able to change your brain waves. My technical understandings of such things are limited but there are countless mixtapes with binaural beats online, you can look them up yourself. Some should help to focus while studying while others allegedly have a calming effect that lets you sleep instantly. Others would be able to induce a sleeping state that is called lucid dreaming. And that's where my problems increased.
