Somewhere not far away from the settlement a group of humans walked trough a particular place. It was in the middle of 4 large buildings that surrounded it on all sides. They reached such heights that barely any light managed to sneak inside the area that was within.

A previous little play ground with a swing and sand box, which now laid both in ruins and covered with all kinds of filth.

A massive crater in the middle of it, as if a meteor landed there or being of enormous size and weight laid there for more than just a single day and made itself comfortable.

6 humans walked along the way. They did not think much of it, what they had not already seen was few in numbers and would rarely even surprise them anymore.

They were your typical racial diverse group of college students. From different universities all over the world, but with a similar liberal mindset, they quickly bonded together and fought for what they thought was right.

Together they entered that area, their mood good and told each other socially appropriate jokes. Their group included every kind of minority, so they had to be extra careful there.

“..And then I told him: You are a fucking white male!”

All of them laughed at the little anecdote. Even the white male among them, but he was homosexual and a tri non binary transgender sexual, also 13 % native American, so he was cool.

Those people might just be the very last of their special kind...

“Hey, what's that?” They walked carefree towards the middle of the crater. There and right in the middle, carefully hidden under the sand stuck something out.

It was an oddly looking stone of about half a meter of diameter and round in shape. For some reason, it did not look like an ordinary stone.

Like the curious young people with higher degrees they were, all of them walked towards it to explore that which they discovered.

As they surrounded the odd stone, they all laid their palms on top of it. Surprised they discovered that it was mildly warm, like the skin of an animal.

As they kept on looking stupefied at it, at the top of the stone two round shaped holes opened. Two fist sized adorable eyes, black in their eternity and strangely wet. Those eyes looked at the humans surrounding them, naivety and curiosity within them.

A third hole opened, its mouth most likely. It gave few whining sounds that one would come to expect from newborns of all races.

To its sides and out of the sand, 2 small pebbles came towards its chest. They were far to small for its body and were most likely its hands, it adorably fiddled with them around and tried to reach for the humans surrounding it.

“This is so..” One of the woman muttered. “Cuuute!”

Another Asian man reached with his index finger for the little ones hands.

They used [Observe] on it.

Stone Golem infant lvl 0

"You know what would be a good idea?" One of them suddenly asked as he too played with the adorable things hand. "We should take it with us! It is small and probably lost here and we could grow it together! It could be our friend and we would help each other survive!"

A woman looked at him speechlessly. "This. Is. Fucking." She took a deep breath before she continued with a loud shout. "GENIUS!"

"I know, right? Let's call him little pebble."

"Are you asuming his gender Jemiaha? I realy expected more of you.." A big dark skinned man said dissapointed and everyone around him agreed. He went to his knees and took the heavy being into his arms. It weighted around a quarter of a ton, but he was soemone who specialized in strength, so he managed.

"C-come on guys! It was just a slip of tongue, you know I am better than that! Please!"

Together this group of young people, the future of this generation walked back towards the settlement.

The little Pebble looked back, his eyes glued to the place where it laid most of its life. He was small and confused, but also too little to care about anything if he was fed and unhurt.

The newborn just wondered where those strange creatures took him.

It also asked itself when its parents would return.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

Not far of in the same city and at the same time, in the massively majestic building called the Reichstag the young arch demon called Remuem stood on the outside.

Before him and on its knees knelt a single massive living being, a child of a giant. It was a creature of about 5 meters tall, its body massive and overweight. It was still a youngling, a mere child. Its face had a simple and foolish smile on it as Remuem ran his hand trough its hair. This species overall was known for their simple nature and their massive power in times of need.

Not so long ago when Remuem came into this new world with his people, he has been wandering these new lands, he walked trough forests and temples the likes of which he saw plenty in the last world he inhabited and did not find special. All changed when he stumbled onto this “city” of the species called humans.

In legends he had heard of them, of their wrongdoings and their sins before the creator and as such his impression of them was of a negative kind, yet this place managed to quite fascinate him. He has lived in cities surrounded by molten lava and with architecture so advanced and magical, majestic that humans would not dare to even imagine such marvelous places.

Yet, this place they called their city was a place he had never seen before. The aesthetic and feeling, those thousands of giant buildings that almost looked like a foolish attempt to rise high up into the sky and above clouds, a place that was forever forsaken for humans originally. It fascinated him quite a bit, so much so that he decided to stay here, in a place from which he could look at them if he wished so, whenever he wished to.

It was along this time where he met this young Giant. A foolish child that had been hurt by everyone around it and cried for its parents while its giant body trampled its foes into a red mush.

Remuem decided to help it and to take it with him, a small child sent here, separated from its parents and forced into this new world where no laws existed yet. It was not sympathy, he saw the potential this simple creature had.

With a mostly neutral face he patted the head of this simple creature. Simple yet... not repulsive to him. Enjoyable even.

“My prince, your subjects are waiting for you.” A single maids voice came from behind. He knew of her presence but did not wish to acknowledge her yet.

Without any further ado, he left the simple giant alone and turned around. It whined some, not happy being left alone but it was time for the young demon to do his duty.

Trough the long halls of his new residence, he walked accompanied by some maids and butlers. He entered a large room that most likely had been used for discussion between humans of power. Blue chairs on which demons sat and waited for him stood in a circular shape, all directed to the place in the middle, where his throne stood lonely, waiting for him. Some platforms that rose above those chairs on which even more simpler demons stood en masses and also waited for him, you could say that every single demon was here today for this issue. All of them were screaming at a certain somebody and calling for justice.

Remuem walked silently forwards, to the eight of his throne stood his personal maid, a woman that was loyal to him but also brought him many, many headaches. A conservative young demon that had her own view of how exactly her prince was supposed to behave and grow up.

To his left stood a true demon clad in awe inspiring dark armor, a massive two handed ax on his back. Two horns on his red head, one going upwards and looking like it was ready to impale whoever might stand in his way and the other similar, but broken in the middle. He had fiery red eyes and a fierce look, even when looking at his prince. A battle maniac and arrogant beyond his years, but also loyal.

Remuems eyes finally rested themselves on the cause of all of this.

A single young lesser demon. An 6 year old girl sat on her knees before the large crowd. Her eyes a milky white, she was blind and those same eyes were filled with streaming tears. Her head raised towards the sky the child cried her soul out to the aggressive shouts of the crowd. Sobbing and crying, her red nose running with snot, she trembled and tried to remove it from her face with the rosy sleeves of her dress and failed to do even that simple task, her hands to shaky and uncoordinated to do it properly.

Not far of and held down by two guards was a simple maid. She too cried and pleaded for her daughter to be spared, cried that she never had done any wrong but was ultimately overshadowed by the thousand of demons shouts.

He finally reached his throne and took his place.

“My prince.” His personal maid, Clarice her name bowed formally to him. She then turned around to face all of his subjects and spoke with a loud and clear voice that forced everybody to listen to her.

“People, it is no secret that we demons are an old and conservative race. We did not always have it easy and were often on the brink of extinction. For millennials and a time period so long that only few still remember, we have had certain rules and traditions. Those rules all had their right and need to be there. One of those rules was the extermination of our weak ones so as to make us stronger, for us to produce the best and strongest warriors, to fight for our mighty race!” She shouted the last words with pride and all demons fell in, also pride to be who they are.

“Yet.. here we are. With a child that normally would have been killed upon its birth, thrown of the Groznoy cliff into what they deserve. Here with us and soiling our eyes, lowering our status with its very existence.”

The crowd once more started to shout many cruel words at the small child. Abomination, bastard and traitor, everything was there.

She in turn lowered her head in shame and buried her eyes in her arms and only a whisper of her call for her mother was all she could offer.

“Her parents have hidden her since her birth. When the chance came to come into this new world, they took their chance to flee here. Upon us finding out about this... child, we have executed the father that birthed it, but still left her alone. But why? Why did we show such kindness to ones that are undeserving I ask you!”

The large crowds shouts became even louder and angrier. Some wanted to honor the traditions they were raised by, some also lost their children and hated the small girl for having what was not allowed to their offspring.

Clarice turned around to face Remuem and once more bowed slightly. “My prince, I believe executing the weaker link would be the correct thing to do. For you, for us and for our race.”

Remuem closed his eyes. That really was what his duty forced him to do.

“Let her go.” He told the guards that held the mother of that child in place.

The woman immediately ran forwards and embraced the crying crippled child in her blossom. Together they cried in each others embrace under the shouts of the crowd behind them.

“From today onward you two are banned from our lands. Pack your things. In an hour you will leave us to never return until you are deemed worthy. That's it.” He told solemnly.

Clarice showed signs of dissatisfaction, but did not dare to opose the order of her prince.

Remuem was aware of the traditions. He was someone who was raised to be a leader and taught to love and value his own people. He saw them beneath himself, as his subjects only, but it was natural for him.

Yet here he had to ban two of his own. The rules were flawed but those were the rules he needed just like anyone else to follow.

The woman and her child stood up and walked with held down heads away. Remuem was sure this would be the last time he saw either of those. He did not much pity them, strength is what counts and if they are to weak then it is their fault. He just disliked the flaw in the logic that forced him to ban people that did nothing wrong to begin with. They could have lived their lives here and nothing would have changed.

It was that which he deemed illogical that he hated more than anything else.

Yet he had to do it.

It was here that he asked himself when he would finally meet that man he had to kill. His hands itched for a challenge, for a change of pace. There were still no signs of anything his father has described, but sooner or later he would meet that being.

At least this would put some color into his life.
