As the day began to break and the night sky loomed in, a small figure shrouded in darkness swiftly passed through the forest and over the mountain. Finally, the shadow made its way onto the roof of a large steel building. It stood five stories tall with three windows, all barred. It seemed the shadow was preparing to enter the facility when a high pitched squeal came from above. The sound of a high-speed projectile flying through the air. BOOM!!
The ground shook, alarms triggered by the facility. The shadow rushed to the front of the building only to find a very disturbing scene
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"
Mahina shouted as she removed her mask. It was rare for her to shout but the scene she just stepped into had her completely shaken. Robert stood in front of the facility in the middle of a giant crater. The high pitched squeal from before was a result of Robert jumping over the mountain and falling from the sky.
"Aww come on now. What's the issue? I already took out the guards in front for you."
Robert said, seemingly baffled by his wife's reaction.
"Yeah and meanwhile you just decided to wake everybody else on THIS GODDA-..."
Mahina stopped mid-sentence and took a deep breath
"I thought it was understood that this was a stealth mission?"
"Well, you just said we would go at night. You never said it was a stealth mission."
Robert said
"What purpose is there to go at night if we're just gonna bust down the door and yell "LOOK WHAT WE DID NOW WE'RE COMIN FOR THE KIDS!?"
Mahina asked Robert, holding onto her last shred of patience trying her best to reclaim her sanity. As their conversation progressed a large number of soldiers stormed out and pointed their rifles at the two
"STATE YOUR BUSINESS!!"
The man who seemed to be the leader of the guards shouted at Robert
"Okay I get it but I still don't think it's that big a deal. It's not like they can stop us anyway"
"True but what if they take the kids hostage"
"They're gonna take their own experiments hostage? Really?"
Completely ignoring the man, Robert and Mahina continued to bicker
"TO HELL WITH IT! FIRE!!"
The leader shouted, enraged by the fact that he was being overlooked. Before a single gunshot rang out Mahina suddenly appeared standing in front of the leader still looking at Robert. As soon as she got there the soldiers fell one by one

"Oh, so you think the people kidnapping and throwing away kids care about having to go out and get more?"
Mahina continued the conversation without so much as glancing at the guard captain
"Alright, I get it. Maybe I should've been more cautious. I'm sorry hon."
Robert said dejectedly as he finally began to rethink his reckless actions. Hearing this, Mahina donned a very warm smile. She slowly walked over to Robert, grabbing his ear and pulling his head down, and kissed him softly on the cheek
"As long as you understand. Now come on Bos, we still got work to do."
She said as she suddenly disappeared into the testing facility. The guard captain still stood in shock in front of the entrance. His men had all fallen suddenly and this mysterious woman had somehow appeared and disappeared like a flash of lightning. As he pondered whether what he saw was even human or if it was a phantom of some sort, Robert slowly began walking towards him.
As soon as Robert had gotten within reach of the captain, he lifted his right arm and in one fluid motion smacked the man sending him halfway down the mountain they had just trekked up
"God I love that woman"
And just like that Robert and Mahina had wiped out every soldier in the base without so much as acknowledging a single one of them. Once Robert had gotten inside Mahina was standing in the middle of the hall looking into a room with tears streaming down her face. One look and Robert knew that she had seen something she never should have. He walked up to her and put his arms around her burying the side of her head into his chest and covering her eyes as she continued to tremble and cry. Finally, Robert looked into the room and saw a haunting scene. The small room was filled with mutilated arms and legs too small to belong to an adult. Robert grimaced and held Mahina tighter.
"We're too late. There's nothing left here."
Mahina said, sounding utterly defeated. They stood in silence clinging to one another until they heard a faint noise. The sound of an infant screaming in the distance. As soon as Mahina heard it she instantly stormed through the entire facility, checking every inch of every room on all five floors. Within an instant she was back in front of Robert, panicking.
"I can't find them! I looked in every room and there were no babies! Not even the fifth floor! I don't know where to look but what if I imagined it and there are no babies but you heard it too so there have to be babies but if they aren't on any of the flo-"
Just then Robert grabbed her arm and put his finger up to his lips. As silence fell again finally they heard the babies cry coming from beneath the floor. Robert walked into the room to his right and slammed his hand through the floor lifting it and revealing the two boys crying below. As soon as he lifted the floor the room began to tremble and the wall collapsed leading to the rest of the building falling apart.
"Looks like its gonna be a grab and go"
Robert said, smirking at Mahina
He and Mahina dropped down, grabbed one baby each, and then took off outside in their own ways. Mahina zigzagging through halls and doors and Robert smashing through walls. As the building fell Robert made it outside to find Mahina sitting on the ground playing with the baby. As she made him laugh small sparks began to fly from his fingertips and toes.
"Looks like static likes you"
Robert said as he sat down, joining Mahina
"He's got a very shocking personality"
Mahina made a corny joke
"What happened to him?!"
Mahina said, startled after looking at the baby Robert held. In the baby's arm, a small rock was lodged deep inside, puncturing to his frail little bone
"WAIT!! You can't just-"
Mahina called to Robert as he hurriedly pulled the rock out. Before she could stop him the rock was already lying on the ground
"YOU-"
Before Mahina could even address her frustrations his arm was already healing at an incredible rate. Before either of them could say anything the baby's arm had already completely returned to normal.
"I guess we really might need these"
Robert said as he pulled out the two metal pieces that Berry had given them
"So… what exactly do we do with em?"
Robert said, looking at the two small metal balls. After handing one of them to Mahina a strong glow began to come from both babies. Mahina's baby glowed a very sharp shade of frost blue, while Robert's glowed a fierce mixture of red and dark brown. As the glow grew brighter and brighter, the metal objects began to float towards them. All at once the two balls and the babies' glow disappeared.
For a while, Robert and Mahina sat in complete silence, both waiting for the other to say something, anything. A baffled Robert finally managed to gather a single sentence together
"....What in the hell was that?!"
Before Mahina was able to reply she noticed the boys' heart rates were quickly rising beyond any tolerable limit
"Bos something's wrong"
"I feel it too. It's his ki and I don't know why but it just spiked as soon as those little metal things disappeared. We need to do something NOW."
Robert said. His usually jovial persona was nowhere to be found, in its place was a sharp and focused beast thinking at a million miles per second to protect its young.
"We need to head back now"
"We don't have time. We needa make somethin' shake NOW!"
"We don't know who might be headed here right now. Doing anything here would only put them in danger"
Robert thought for a moment and finally agreed with Mahina that they needed to quickly get away first. Just then the baby in Mahina's arms let out a deafening wail of anguish. With no time to lose, they both took off towards the outskirts of the island, praying that they wouldn't be too late...
