“Planet XC-157, locally known as Earth was discovered over a millennium ago. Whenever a new planet in the habitable zone is discovered, the species to discover it rushes into the planet to suppress any sentient life form, selling them as slaves to other planets and then auctioning off their planet to the highest bidder.
Many species have been snuffed out by planet hunters before they could even develop a civilization. Of course the Galactic Federation prohibited attacking any civilization that was capable of or on the brink of developing FTL transportation.
Earth would have been attacked by the Armolians, as the species that inhabited it, Humans were still far from developing FTL transport. But they survived that fate due to the fact that their planet was a Grade A death world.
Death world in general doesn’t mean that the planet is incapable of supporting life but it means that majority of the species in the Galactic Federation were incapable of surviving in that planet. The Armolians were no exception.
Of course they could survive there with special suits, but it wasn’t worth the effort as no one would buy a death world. The Humans wouldn’t even make good slaves as they were extremely dangerous, owing to the fact that they originated from a death world.
So the Armolians left the star system to search for another planet to sell. However our ancestors, The Frumel, thought that it wasn’t wise to leave the Humans alone. If humans evolved to be FTL capable, they would throw the galaxy in disarray.
Our ancestors observed the Humans from the orbit. With their primitive technology, the Humans couldn’t even detect us, who were stationed a stone’s throw away from their planet.
By observing and studying them, our ancestors learned a lot about them. They were extremely versatile, able to survive in the extremes of temperature. They could survive in their deserts like the Bravian species who lived in a desert planet. They could also survive in their polar regions like the Aleke who lived in a frozen planet. The only difference between Humans and these two species is that humans didn’t have any special feature to allow them to survive in those conditions and also, any particular human could survive in both of these places.
Another terrifying adaptation of these Humans was that they could survive even after inhaling or ingesting toxic substances in quantities that was enough to kill a whole fleet of any other species. They sometimes even injected toxins into their bodies for fun.

Non sentient species on Earth were extremely hostile. Most were extremely strong and could kill anyone with ease. But that didn’t stop the Humans from taming those beasts and put them for show.
The Humans were so primitive that they would occasionally wage war against their own kind. And according to some anecdotes, Human war tactics are gruesome. What they lacked in physical strength and powerful weapons, they made up for it by their tactics.
Due to this reason, our ancestors decided that they would never allow humans to develop FTL. If we weren’t a peace loving and kind race, they would have wiped out the Humans then and there.
Our species had observed Humans for centuries, preventing them from making any major breakthroughs in the field of space travels. If any Human Scientist was about to learn any thing significant in that area, they would mysteriously disappear.
It went on for a few centuries. The Humans has made a lot of progress in developing their civilization but still they were nowhere near developing FTL. But as time went on, it was getting difficult to observe the Humans. They were reproducing at a terrifying rate.
The soldiers stationed at Earth’s orbit were overwhelmed by the number of Humans they had to observe. So a lot of capital and manpower was drained into that death world. But still it wasn’t enough.
A brilliant human scientist emerged who seemed to have average intelligence as a child. Due to this reason, he was overlooked for a long time. If I’m not wrong, his name was A. Einstein. But it wasn’t too late before he was assassinated.
Then there was his successor, S. Hawking. An assassination attempt was made when he showed signs of extreme intelligence but it failed. He was alive but completely disabled. A cripple wouldn’t be a threat, right? Wrong. He further researched the incomplete work of his predecessor while he was being ignored as a cripple.
When his work was noticed there was chaos among the observers. Even if he was assassinated now, he had already derived the formula for FTL. While the observers were in disarray, he died a natural death due to old age. This calmed the observers a bit.
But the peace in the Galaxy wouldn’t be maintained forever. As higher population of Humans meant higher number of geniuses and lack of manpower among the observers. Within another century, the formula for FTL was comprehended by the Humans and they managed to build their first FTL ship.
Since the Humans became an FTL capable species, our ancestors could no longer interfere with them. That was about 2 centuries ago.
Since then, the Humans have spread throughout the galaxy. According to some shady sources, a Human ship is almost about to reach the Andromeda galaxy, a feat no species has been able to accomplish before. At least that we know of.
The Humans have established a power greater than that of the Galactic Federation. They currently own almost 374 planets, some of which were terraformed, 2547 comets and millions of asteroids that they are strip mining. Their wealth is vast and their growth is immeasurable, exactly like their thirst for power and control.
The Frumel are currently on friendly terms with the Humans but that is due to the fact that they don’t know how our ancestors tried to suppress them.
I am the last one of my generation that knows of this secret and like everyone else I intend to take this secret to my grave. With me this truth will die else it will be my children and my species. I will not let the ghosts of the past haunt my species’
