The look on Bob's face was pure.delight, enjoyment, fear, excitement,and peer terror all wrapped in the one.with a smile.
The next couple of hourswe're all done getting him ready to go and realizing they didn't have everything they needed. So the plan was to pack.everything up and in the morning going to town for the last couple things and then they would.go with Bob up to the roadhouse. That would be his main roadhouse base and they would know the leave messages there for him so that the spirit of the mountain could communicate with them because Bob's parents understood how magic were not how to do it, but they understood how to leave magic notes and other things like that. So they taught Bob about leaving messages for people.
The nearest roadhouse was about four hours by horse from their house. So after they had packed up everything and they had their three horses, they got to the roadhouse.
The spirit of the mountain wasn't just thrilled. It was Vibrating.and by vibrating I mean all the lights were literally vibrating with the heartbeat of the mountain and you would see the light go up a little bit and then down a little bit and up a little bit. It was literally tapping into its soul to touch everything in the roadhouse as they walked in.
The roadhouse felt alive. It was inviting. It was warmA mug was floating witha cloth cleaning it behind the bar in.the dust on the mirror. It just said welcome was being written by an invisible hand.
What happened next was that everything kind of just calmed down a bit. The lights went back to normal. Bobby mom and dad came in with him and they all just sat up in the room and they said, OK, we're going to stay here for a day and kids. There's something wrong and we're just going to hang out here for the night so we don't have to travel back all that way. And we'll go back in the morning when we might even walk up to the cave with you.
They were almost ready for bed and they were.upstairs in the rooms after getting cleaned up and ready and they heard two giant creaking doors being opened downstairs and they all got up and went to the balcony and what they saw was the actual dance for the open area.literally was being forced up and two big doors from like a seller were being open and Margaret the spider all.2000 £3000 and 20 feet like wide like she's huge spire start coming out as she came out. With it, you and only one person can turn on their magic powers” “ But there's a catch every.ten years you have to recharge your power from the core. People used to have to go down to the core to get it, but nowadays you can go to a very large city and usually at the main castle where they have, like the ruler. They usually have a small piece that can be used to charge, but it's expensive. So this is going to start you down a path where you're going to have to become an adventure. Just recharge your power. So I don't know if you want this or not. And it's a choice you have to think and make about. So I'm going to leave you for tonightand tomorrow morning, if you want, by yourself, come up to the mountainand either return the gem to me already.to use it. But I know for a fact the dungeon has already accepted a quest for you to start. I mean, one that's attached to magic. So this is a magical quest. I was kind of surprised when he the mountain spirit told me. But yeah, it's basically pulling out all the stops for you. It believes you are his family. So this is like a welcome gift. With that Margaret wave to them, because Bob's parents were still frozen on the balcony, and Margaret knew she had to get out of there because she was freaking them out. So she opened up the mill trap door that she was standing on. And I'm by little, I mean, 10 by 10 and that's one door alone. It's later half her body down, and then kind of slid back down underneath the ground and disappeared.
Bob looked up inside his mum and dad, and he knew that they're gonna have to have a long talk.
In the morning.Bob and his parents, they all agreed that Bob had made the right decision. And with his decision made, Bob was going to go up to the mountain and tell Margaret, and they were just going to go home. So.this is, I guess, where his adventure starts.
He hugged his mum and dad and started walking up to the cave.
He said, stop twice for some of his water he was carrying with him in some dried meat. But after about 2 1/2 hours, he made it to the cave.
Margaret was there.and as he was walking up, he put his hand into the pouch and grabbed the crystal.
The first thing he saw was the quest.
