As the sun tucked behind the clouds, leaves consisting of gold and copper waved in the wind before falling from the branches and collecting on the ground in a pile. Ivy was creeping up the walls, stopping in fear at the trails of smoke billowing from the chimney, filling the air with the familiar scent of smouldering ash and burning.
Her outstretched fingers struck against the Ivy. Mia raised herself from the ground and closed the window, twisting the latch into place. The diamonds twinkled against the ceiling high above her, supplemented by the crescent moon taking form between her lips. The chandelier reflected the light, emphasising the golden waterfall spanning her back. Her eyes are paragons of the clearest skies.
The wooden stairs spoke underfoot, her hand guided itself towards the idle switch upon the wall. Walking towards the kitchen door she peered around. She felt a presence. She didn't feel alone. Entering the kitchen, something captured her attention. It was like somebody was standing with her, watching her. She couldn't shake the feeling and so peered around in doubt.
Suddenly, night engulfed the house, shrouding the kitchen. her stomach tightening as her eyes adjusted to the light. She slowly crept her feet towards the wall. Upon reaching it She hit the light switch, banishing the shadows from around her.

Banging on the door alarmed her like a deer caught in headlights. She hadn't had visitors in years now. The pounding on the door was drowned out by the wild thumping of her heart beating like it was going to jump from her chest. The familiar weight of tears rested upon her cheeks. Mia guided herself into the hallway. She felt cold, staring at the door. Her imagination running wild as to who could be on the other side. Another tear rolled down her cheek, and as she wiped it away on her sleeve She tried to steady her heartbeat. She locked her lips together, fearing that any utterance might alert whoever was stood opposite her on the other side of the door.
Her feet froze in place. Her hands grew stiff as she took quick breaths. Her eyes became fixated directly in front of her. She reached out for the door handle. Slowly placing her fingers around it she twisted her wrist releasing the lock on the door. Pulling her arm back, the door swung open. Her eyes met those opposite her. Her eyes widening, She could feel her heart beating, her blood flowing, the fear pulsing through her veins. Her eyes darted to the ground before all of her sensations were lost, she was falling backwards. Everything went black.
