2023 (present day)
one hour ago Sierra had come to her apartment stomping clumsily up the steps as she rushed to the door and headed inside. thats where she flicked on the kettle, changed into close 2 sizes too big and rung up her friend. the phone was only ringing for a couple seconds before Alyssa picked up
"sierra! oh I've missed you, we never talk enough these days you know."
she said airily with just a touch of sentimentality
"Alyssa, I literally called yesterday and we had coffee three days ago." Sierra replied tiredly, Alyssa was always like this, but that was one of the reasons she loved her so much. ever since they met Alyssa was always undeniable about her feelings, you would always be know, unlike in the past, their relationship had less anxiety to it, and Alyssa already knew this of course, probably why she continued saying this like that, Alyssa was the best.
"anyways what's up babe?" sierra felt a smile spread across her face, Alyssa called everyone babe, like she was best friends with everyone, which in all honesty she could be.
"I ran into dawn." she uttered after some slow breaths, there was some movement from the other side of the phone, she must be getting settled for a long call.
"what, like Dawn, dawn? the one from year 7 that broke your heart and became a grungy drummer?"
"pf, yeah, we kind of ran into each other into the café and we were all we should catch up but now I'm starting to have doubts because, you know, it just makes me feel so confused like I did back then like a bloody teenager"
"egh, yeah I wouldn't be surprised, you're an anxious person and any experience for someone would definitely cause them to feel sorta sensitive."
"I just, haaaa. what should I do? do I even risk all this work on just rebuilding some silly friendship, were probably not even like 'compatible' in any ways anymore, the last time we saw each other was like 17 years ago."
"hmm, I get what you mean, it could be sorta awkward and it could cause some bad things to resurface, however that said maybe you will finally get some closure."

"what do you mean?"
"I know you don't like confrontation Se and if it was anyone else in a similar situation like with an ex i would advise to ignore the woman, but with you and her, there is a lot of unfinished business. maybe don't try to rebuild things maybe all you need is closure, to know what's actually happened, to see where she's at and to say goodbye properly. I don't know but maybe it could put you to rest you know?"
"yeah, yeah I guess, I'm a little scared you know."
"that's understandable-" on the other end there was muffled voices, maybe her husband
"oh, what, oh my god- shit! look, sorry Se I gotta go, I was planning on talking longer but something came up."
"yeah, yeah no problem, see ya!"
that plagues on her for a while after that, eventually she put on the tv for some background noise as she started searching into her laptop Dawn's name, now curious to see if she was in anything else, she did say that she was in some minor rolls. though that must've been an understatement, she made it sound like she was an extra, she was in maybe around 10 movies and had a few appearances in some series that Sierra had watched, how did she not notice her? and some of the rolls n the movies were actually kind of big, they didn't seem like the the typical Hollywood blockbuster that would put you on billboards but definitely enough for people to know your name. so she did something she had been refraining from doing for the past 17 years, she searched up Dawns name on social media, she had a fairly decent following, and in her bio it had "singer, songwriter, drummer and guitarist" she chuckled at reading this, the actor thing must be slightly more recent, 14 year old dawn would be proud. she had definitely gotten her name out there, so she started going through her profile and posts, going deeper and deeper, to comments, thirsting over her and then she came across the posts of her in June. a picture from 3 years ago, in a pride march with the bi flag messily smeared on her face posing next to some other people with smeared faces of different flags with the caption "band reunion for the rainbows" goodness was that cheesy. her heart started beating faster and faster, she wasn't queer was she? she never said that and when Sierra came out she- ugh never mind that was years ago, perhaps she had moved on from that. but it was strange, she never known and she had seemed like she was uncomfortable around Sierra being queer right?
she sighed and shut her laptop abruptly, she knew this was bad for her, it wasn't solving anything, shed text Dawn the time and go to bed, finally put all this nonsense away and move on with her life like an adult.
