Hi everyone!
RC here. I currently make my living writing. That’s a precarious thing. So far, I’ve been able to cobble together enough income in terms of book advances, patreon, and a few other sources to make things work, but there’s always this fear that a series of books that don’t find traction and I get out of the very exact, very specific positioning that makes my current job possible.
One of the best things in my life, hands down, is that you like my writing. Thousands of you have moved novel to novel and even across book series with me as I’ve written the equivalent of six or seven full novels since last July. You’ve left positive comments. You’ve sent nice messages. Those of you that were in a position to support the Patreon did so. And all those things contribute to the fact that every day I’m able to get up and type away at a keyboard, smiling like a loon and trying to make sure you have chapters to read that will make you smile.
I’m very thankful. But I’m also asking for more.
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Today, we got through Amazon’s review process and published book one of How to Survive at the End of the World to Amazon/Kindle unlimited. In the world of this kind of writing, that’s where the bulk of the income authors get comes from. If I’m ever going to get to a secure place in writing, one where I can continue to do ten or twelve books a year and keep bringing you new reading material, Kindle Unlimited is going to be the biggest moving piece in making that happen.
Everyone who is reading this already knows my writing. But that’s not true of KU readers. They find people by rankings that are mostly driven by reviews. If you have a bunch of good reviews, they show your book to more people, you get more reads, and you can then have a career writing instead of doing mortgage processing or whatever.
So if you have even a moment, please go to this page and leave a review. In a weird way, this is probably the most significant career moment I’ve had, and how it goes is almost entirely in your worthy, generous hands. Thank you so much in advance. I’m really looking forward to this launch going well, not just because of the selfish reasons, but also because it means I can keep making stuff for you. As always, I appreciate the hell out of all of you and love that you are here.
