Apollo had always been drawn to adventure. His days were filled with exploring vast wildernesses, scaling mountains, and navigating dense forests. He was endlessly inquisitive and eager for new challenges, but deep down, he yearned for a greater purpose.
One day, while examining a secluded cave, he came across a mysterious, luminous portal. The vortex of light and energy enticed him, and without hesitation, Apollo stepped through, unaware of what awaited him on the other side.
In a flash, he found himself in a completely different world. The sky was a striking shade of blue, and the landscape teemed with life. Initially disoriented, he scanned the sky and noticed floating islands, dual moons, and a dragon pursuing what appeared to be a magical airship. His reaction was unsurprising.
"Well...shit," Apollo muttered.
"Let me guess: You saw a portal materialize, and curiosity got the best of you?" a woman remarked.
Apollo glanced at a nearby tree, where the woman was perched on a branch. She had black hair, captivating blue diamond-like eyes, and an air of self-assurance. Apollo nodded, still processing the events that had transpired.
"Yeah, that's about right. So, you're in the same situation as me?" he inquired.
"More or less," the woman replied, jumping down from the tree. She seemed to still be wearing her school uniform. "I'm Jasmine. I was transported here a few hours ago. And let me tell you, this place is something else."
"Hours? What have you been doing?" he asked.
"Trying to control that dragon's mind. The best I've managed is some small animals, which is rather useless," she sighed.
"Uhh...okay," he responded, puzzled.
Apollo extended his hand, and Jasmine shook it firmly. "I'm Apollo. Any idea where we are or what's happening?"
Jasmine sighed. "I wish. All I can say is we're not in Kansas anymore (heh). This world is full of magic, bizarre creatures, and likely even stranger inhabitants. But don't worry; we'll figure it out...maybe."
Apollo nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we've got this. Two heads are better than one, right?"

As they began to explore, they marveled at the variety of plant life, unlike anything they had seen on Earth. The trees had multicolored leaves, and the flowers seemed to emit a gentle, radiant light.
As they journeyed further, they came across a crystal-clear river teeming with peculiar fish sporting iridescent scales and gossamer-like fins. Apollo dipped his hand into the water, finding it thicker than regular water, as if imbued with magical properties.
"I don't know about you, but I feel like we've been dropped into a fantasy novel," Jasmine remarked, still processing the strange new world.
"Tell me about it," Apollo agreed, eyeing a distant floating island. "Hey, Jasmine, should we try to reach one of those islands?"
"Maybe we should focus on, you know, surviving first? I mean, how could we just be transported to another world and not given any type of —".
"You mean reincarnated to another world," a mysterious voice whispered.
Both Apollo and Jasmine jumped, startled by the sudden intrusion. They scanned the area, trying to find the source of the voice.
"Behind you," another voice whispered.
Apollo and Jasmine turned around to see a tall, enigmatic figure cloaked in a hooded garment. Their face was concealed by the shadows cast by the hood, but their intense gaze seemed to penetrate right through them.
"Who are you?" Apollo asked cautiously, his hand inching toward a makeshift weapon he had found earlier.
The figure disregarded Apollo's question, continuing, "You two weren't merely transported to this world. You've been reincarnated as the chosen ones, bearing the titles of 'Annihilators.' Your task is to hunt down and eliminate the Demon Lords plaguing this land."
Jasmine raised an eyebrow, uncertain whether to trust the mysterious figure. "And why should we trust you? You could be one of those Demon Lords, for all we know."
The figure chuckled softly. "Your skepticism is understandable, but I assure you, I'm not one of them. I am a messenger sent by the Goddess of War and the Goddess of Fortune to guide you on your quest."
Apollo and Jasmine exchanged wary glances, still unconvinced but realizing they had little choice but to hear the stranger out. "Alright," Apollo said, "let's say we believe you. What's the catch? There's always a catch."
The hooded figure tilted their head slightly. "There is a reward for your efforts, should you succeed in your mission. The Goddesses have promised to grant you any wish you desire."

Apollo's eyes widened, and Jasmine's interest was piqued. The prospect of being able to wish for anything was undeniably enticing.
"However," the figure added, "this mission is not without its challenges. You will face not only the formidable Demon Lords but also the moral dilemmas that accompany such a responsibility. You must learn to harness your newfound powers, rely on each other, and confront the consequences of your actions."
"Powers? What powers?" Apollo asked.
The hooded figure waved a hand, and a small, ancient-looking tome materialized in front of Apollo and Jasmine. "This book contains the knowledge you'll need to awaken and control your innate abilities. You each possess unique powers that will aid you in your quest to defeat the Demon Lords."
Apollo hesitantly took the book, examining its leather-bound cover and worn pages. Jasmine peered over his shoulder, her curiosity piqued.
"As the chosen Annihilators, you will each develop a power that complements the other. Apollo, you possess psychokinesis. It will take longer for you to reach your full potential, however. Due to the rarity of this power, you'll need to consult this book to fully understand your abilities. Jasmine, your power lies in Elemental Mastery. You will be able to control, manipulate, and create one or more elements. It will take some time for you to reach your full potential, but not as long as Apollo's journey. If you choose the right elements, you may not need the others. There are 25 total elements to master, with varying levels of difficulty, from familiar elements like the classical four to more potent ones like Summoning, Light, and even Time, if you can unlock it."
The revelation left them both in awe but also overwhelmed. Apollo and Jasmine exchanged glances, each processing the gravity of their newfound abilities and the responsibility that came with them.
"Now," the hooded figure said, "it's time to begin your training. You must learn to control your powers, as they will be crucial in your battles against the Demon Lords. But remember, the path before you is fraught with challenges and dangers. Don't underestimate your enemies, and trust in your own strength and each other. And, of course...Good Luck."
With that, the mysterious figure vanished as suddenly as they had appeared, leaving Apollo and Jasmine standing in the vibrant, alien landscape, clutching the ancient tome.
Apollo sighed as he flipped through the tome. "Well, Jasmine, it looks like we have our work cut out for us."
Jasmine nodded, her eyes still fixed on the spot where the hooded figure had disappeared. "You're not kidding. But at least we have each other to figure this out, right?"
Apollo sighed. "I can't tell if I should be mad or not. Your powers seem way more interesting than mine. Maybe you should teach me once you learn them or something."
Jasmine smirked. "I don't mind helping out my fellow reincarnate, but it'll cost you a pretty penny. Greatness doesn't come cheap, you know!"
She started laughing triumphantly, as an aura of arrogance began to slowly form around her.
"Calm down, woman. Didn't you hear what the dude said? It'll take us time to reach our full potential. At this moment, you're actually weaker than me. According to this book, your power is ultimately nothing more than expedited learning. Its alternate names are 'Arcane Adeptness' and 'Spell Swiftness'. Your superpower is ultimately just being smart," Apollo said confidently.
Jasmine fell to her knees dramatically, hitting the ground as she yelled.
"Dammit! My dreams of world domination! Ruined by facts and logic! How could you do that to me!" she said dramatically.
Apollo chuckled. "Well, you may be arrogant and perhaps a little bit crazy, but you're still hot. And that's all that matters."
Jasmine retorted. "Says you!"
With their peculiar but somehow still productive partnership established, Apollo and Jasmine set off to begin their new lives as the chosen Annihilators, ready to face the challenges that lay ahead. As they walked side by side, they couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of their situation, two strangers from different worlds, brought together by fate to save a magical realm they had only just discovered.
Who knew saving the world could be so...ridiculous?

As Apollo and Jasmine ambled along the riverbank, Apollo delved into the ancient tome. He soon realized that it was a magical counterpart to Wikipedia and one of the 50 revered treasures known as "The Divine Compendiums." This age-old volume housed a wealth of knowledge about spells, incantations, rituals, as well as extensive insights on the Demon Lords, the enchanted realm of Alderan they now occupied, and even the backstory of the 'Annihilators' who preceded them.
Apollo found that there were unique sites peppered across the land where their powers could be refined more effectively. Dubbed "Nodes of Power," these locations were charted on a map within the Divine Compendium, and each was said to be guarded by ancient sentinels who assessed the merit of those pursuing their power.
As he read on, he stumbled upon a section about the Demon Lords they were assigned to vanquish. The description of each Demon Lord was thorough, outlining their abilities, perceived vulnerabilities, and most recent whereabouts. Apollo understood that they would need to devise a solid plan to have a fighting chance against these formidable adversaries.
Jasmine, observing Apollo's serious expression, inquired about his findings. He relayed the information to her, and jointly, they scrutinized the map and deliberated their next moves. They resolved to prioritize visiting the Nodes of Power to bolster their skills while also gathering intelligence on the Demon Lords and pinpointing potential allies for their mission. Their initial destination would be the closest village on the map, which, according to the Compendium, could lead them to a nearby city, provided they could persuade someone to escort them.
As they plotted their journey, they were aware that the path ahead would be strewn with trials and perils. Nevertheless, they also recognized that the destiny of this magical realm now hinged on their efforts, even if their motives were not entirely noble.
Guided by the Divine Compendium and armed with their newly acquired powers, Apollo and Jasmine set off on their grand quest, prepared to overcome any hurdles that stood in their way and ultimately triumph. The legend of the Annihilators had commenced, and as a duo, they would etch their names into the annals of history.
As they pressed onward, they couldn't help but fantasize about the rewards they would claim upon the successful completion of their mission. Perhaps they'd wish for immortality, a kingdom, or even the ability to manipulate time (assuming Jasmine couldn't master it first). They could even yearn for a harem. The potential outcomes were boundless, and they eagerly anticipated discovering what lay in store for them.
But for the time being, they concentrated on their immediate objective, primed to confront the obstacles that awaited them. They couldn't shake the feelings of exhilaration and awe, knowing that their lives had been forever altered.
After all, who requires a sense of purpose when you have overpowered magic and the prospect of wish fulfillment?
