End of Book 4 Wrap Up

Hey,

Please read Chapter 131 before reading this.

So that's the end of Book 4. Book 5—Welcome to Nekromel—will start 12th September (EDIT: new date).

I'm also going to change things a bit. I'm thinking of switching to a 3 day schedule (Mon-Wed-Fri) and also planning the story out, maybe even banking a few chapters so I'm not quite so pushed for time.

I've been finding it very hard to write anything but HTADDB recently. Even though I took weekends off, I was so mentally drained I couldn't really function on a creative level. I'd like to finish some of my other projects and to maybe write some side-stories for this one.

If you have opinions or comments about this recent arc feel free to let me know. I know I bitch about the complaints I get, but I do appreciate people caring enough to express their feelings about the characters. I don't necessarily agree, but I do read them all.

A big thank you to all those who have supported me, especially if you donated or are a patron. Also, those who have bought the ebooks on Amazon, I appreciate you paying for something that you've already read for free. It means a lot to me that people are willing to help me keep at this.

I want to take it up a notch with Book 5 and produce something bigger that still tells an entertaining story and also takes the characters on a satisfying journey. The whole reason I started this was to write something that wasn't the same as other serials where characters just repeat the same actions in different settings. I realise some readers find this frustrating (according to my calculations, based on how much better some readers feel the story used to be, I'd say the book peaked approximately 3 days before I started writing it), but I already have ideas for the next arc and Colin won't be the same person by the end of it. Whether that'll be a good thing of not, I can't say.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

And, as ever, if you have a moment, please vote for this story at Top Web Fiction, it really helps me reach new readers. No signup required just press the button. Voting refreshes every week so if you voted more than a week ago, that vote no longer counts. VOTE

BTW If you're looking for something to read in the meantime, you might like to try my other story on Royal Road Legend, Grin the Cheat. It's a series of short stories and might give you an idea of how I write when I'm not making it up as I go. Plus, no Jenny! Here's the blurb:

There was a time when heroes roamed between the Four Great Cities. They fought for kingdoms and princesses and they lived and died by their valour. Or so the stories say. The way the minstrels sing it, everyone had a swashbuckling good time.

Nowadays, buckles are rarely swashed. All the great beasts have been slain, all the great treasures unearthed. Princesses are few and far between — the ones worth fighting over, anyway — and the kingdoms have been divvied up between the sons of sons of sons of the heroes of old. No valour required.

Frankly, the hero business is in a sorry state. Luckily for Grin the Cheat, thieving and murder are thriving as usual.

Grin the Cheat (LINK) is currently four short stories, all with endings!

See you in  a few weeks.

Cheers,
