Maya Gallonor

When the queen of Kyrasis gave birth to her first daughter, the mother's queen greatly insisted that the baby gets the queen's name instead of the king's. The king wasn't really happy about it, but the queen's mother had her ways to convince people to do what she wanted. The queen wasn't really excited about it either, but not for the same reason. She knew what it meant if her mother wanted baby Maya to inherite the Gallonor's name. Tha tmeant Maya was born with magical power. The Gallonor's royal family never talked about their magical origin since the majority of Egium despited magic weilders. But that didn't stop the fact that there were magic in their blood... And what the grand mother felt in Maya was... impressive.

Needless to say the queen was more than relieved to see her daughter grow up without any magical events other than the way Maya could get anything she wanted from anyone. The others thought it was because she was so lovely and cute, but the queen knew that it was because she had the same ability her mother had... The queen could have been fine with it if it wasn' tthe fact that Maya was using her ability to wander in the kitchen and around the other maidens to do chores! No matter how much the queen threatened the servants, nobody could say no the young princess...

Maya was around six yearsold when she noticed that when she was being really nice to the servants, they would let her help them around. So there she was, in the castle's garden, giving the gardener some puppy eyes''pweeeassseee~ I wanna help you with the floweerss!!'' The gardener was trying his best to decline the young princess offer, but she was so adorable. He knew how the queen didn't want the princess to stain her dresses with dirt or food, but.... He couldn't say  no to those pleading eyes ''O... okay, but becareful! Don't put dirt on your dress or I will get in trouble again.''

''I PROMISE!'' Maya shouted. She was so happy! She could finally play in the garden and plant flowers, and fruits, and vegetables and... ''MAYA!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?'' Both Maya and the gardener froze as they heard the queen's scream. She looked up at her mother with her pleading eyes''I'm helping in the garden. Pwease mommy let me help!'' The queen grabbed the princess by the arm and dragged her away and back in the castle ''No! This is not a suitable place for a princess. You have to learn that this is not where you belong!'' The young princess always wondered why her mother could resist her adorable charms. She could convince anyone, even her father, to let her do whatever she wanted... But her mother was as stoic as a brick wall in front of her.

Maya was now twelve years old and she was in that boring Royal Etiquette class with her younger sister, Clara Bronson. Clara had their father's name while Maya had their mother's. The two sisters always wondered why, but never got any  answers from their parents, so they decided to let it go. Clara was fascinated by the class, doing everything she was told to do and was doing it perfectly. Maya on the other hand hated it. She wasn't listening  so she couldn't do anything right. But she always thought that she only had to copy her little sister's behaviour and if she ever did anything that would offense the others around her, she would apologies nicely like she always did and it would all be forgotten.

Maya was trying to focus on the class, but her attention was always getting back to one of the servant that was setting up the table for lunch. This servant's name was Edith and she was around her age and was really fun to talk to. They would both spend time together in the kitchen or hidden in some part of the big garden. As Edith walked out of the room, the teacher cleared her throat, bringing Maya's attention back to her ''If you don't want to be here, princess Gallonor, you can always leave.'' The teacher said in a sarcastic way, but Maya decided to take it litterally today. She knew she would get in trouble later, but she really wanted to spend time with her friend ''Thank you Miss to let me leave the class early today. I must go on my way then!'' She then rushed out of the room, grabbing a plate full of food on her way out and catched up with her friend.

They both ran as fast as they could and went to their secret spot in the garden. It was on top of a big tree in the middle of the garden. The leaves would hide them from the others, but they could still see really well. They found a few wooden boards and blankets, so they had a really nice and cozy observation spot in the tree. They were both eating what was in the plate and talked about sweet nothings. Maya noticed how Edith was smiling way wider than usual, so she finally asked ''You seems even more sparkly than usual! What is happening?'' Edith blush and told her that Cedrick, the main cook's assistant, asked her out this morning! She had a crush on him for a really long time and he finally noticed her! They would go on a date on their day off on sunday. Maya forced a smile and exclaimed ''That is the best news ever! I'm so happy for you!'' They finished their meal and headed back to their respectives tasks. Edith in the kitchen and Maya went to her room and locked the door behind her. She fell on her bed, hiding her face in one of the many pillows she had on it. She held on the pillow real hard, trying to hold the tears that were pricking out. She was happy for her friend, but she really hoped that it was her and not Cedrick that would be going on a date this sunday with Edith...

A few months passed and Maya saw how Edith and Cedrick were happy together so she slowly got over her crush and was now able to go back in the kitchen from time to time when she could escape her mother's grip. Thing she managed to do pretty often. But as she was getting older, she had to go to those receptions where the other Royal families would meet to find out who will marry who to settle rivalties, forge new alliances or reinforce already existent ones. She would meet bunch of princes and princesses. She couldn't help but notice those two twins brothers flirting around this other prince. Maya thought it was cute and lovely. But she coulnd't find her prince or princess yet... But it's not like she was really trying to find someone. Clara was definitly enjoy it more than her. She would always walk around and talk to everyone while Maya would stay by the counter to talk with thes ervants about the recipes they did for the food available during the receptions or what flowers they used to make all the flower crowns. One of the servant taught her how to make a small flower crown to put on her head. She would then always walk around with a fresh flower crown on her head instead of the princess crown since she thought it fitted her more.

Maya was now sixteen years old. Her mother would push her even more to be more 'royal' since she will have to find her husband soon to be queen too. But she couldn't care less. She never asked for all of this. All she wanted was living a simple life and cook or do some gardening... Not rule a city! She was getting tired to always be compared to her sister! And now her mother was dragging her out of the kitchen while screaming at her how much not good enough she was? She had enough of this! Unfortunatly, Maya didn't have much time to tell her mother how she felt because a giant black and green dragon grabbed and her in it's claws and flew away. She was freaking out as she saw her house getting smaller and smaller. Was this really happening? Did she really get taken away from her family because she was disobedient?

At the end of the day, the dragon landed by a small cave and locked Maya in it by putting a big rock in front of the entrance before gaving her some water and food. Maya was still scared, but atleast the dragon didn't hurt her. It even seemed really friendly and nice ''Are you confortable in my claws? You can ride on my back if you want.'' The dragon asked while they were flying away. But Maya was too scrared to fall off so she decided to stay in the dragon's grip. And the end of the second day, they landed on a castle in the middle of the Maldock's Wilderness. Two other princesses made their way in the courtyard. They welcomed Maya and showed her around. They explained that the dragon was named Vi and that they weren't mean. But they still had to keep them locked in the castle. So if Maya or any of them ever tried to run away, Vi would bring them back in one way or another.

After three years in the castle, a charming prince went to save the princesses from the dragon. That is when everything changed again in Maya's life. She finally learned the truth about why she was trapped in this castle in the middle of no where... And now she was about to go on a journey to save prince Will. She was really stressed out about all of this, but she thought that going out of here and focusing on something else would help her feel better...
