There was once a time I was just a normal guy.

I had an average face you’d could see anywhere.

I was just a kid.

A human.

Nothing more and nothing less than standard.

But that all changed on the eve of my thirteenth birthday.

That was the summer before I was to go to high school.

I was looking forward.

I really was.

But you know how it is.

Life is full of detours and pit stops.

Not to mention sometimes you don’t get to go where you want to.

I did get to go high school though at least…but it was much later that I got that opportunity and by then I no longer desired it.

No…maybe I did, but just was so caught up in the journey of my life that I didn’t notice.
