The car sped away through the street, sometimes overtaking other cars moving at a slower pace compared to the luxury car. The one driving it, Lina, who was wearing sunglasses with a cool expression, steered the wheel quite causally while her passenger, Zayden, observed the surroundings with curiosity.
“We’re really moving fast,” he commented in amazement. Then he turned to her and asked, “Should you really be speeding? Won’t the police come after you?”
“The police will come after me?” She asked and let out a chuckle. “I’d like to see them chase me after searching up my license plate number.”
Zayden was surprised and asked, “Is your license plate that fancy?”
“It’s more than just fancy,” she replied and gave him a sidelong glance with a cool smile. As he looked at her with quizzical look, she said, “I see you’re filled with questions. Fire them away.”
“Um,” he hesitated for a moment, but when she urged him again, he nodded and asked, “I was just very confused about this luxury car, that fancy dress, and just how you’re connected to all this. I mean, aren’t you a…?”
He paused before completing his sentence, somewhat apprehensive to complete it thinking it might sound rude of him to say so. However, she smiled and spoke quite casually.
“How can I afford all this with my salary of a nurse?” She asked, and he looked momentarily surprised before nodding in agreement. “Yes. I’m sure anyone would be confused since no matter how highly paid a nurse is, affording this kind of luxury car and such is a little much.”
Then she looked at him and simply asked him, “You do know my family name, right?”
“Ah, yeah,” he said and thought about her name. “Morris. What about…?”
As he was about to finish his question, his voice faded as he suddenly had a realisation. His eyes widened in shock before looking at her with a wide-eyed expression.
“Wait! Don’t tell me you’re the daughter of Tyrone Morris, the chairman of the top hunger guild of our Country A, Berserkers?!” He exclaimed in a shocked voice.
Each country’s government requires the Superhumans to be officially registered in their database for legal requirements, but they still need to join a guild in order to become a Superhero. A guild is an organisation that focuses on facilitating the Superheroes with missions and activities that result in the Superhero earning fame and fortune.
From the small details he received from the memories of the original owner, he recognised the name “Morris” as the chairman of one of the top leading guilds in that country known as Berserkers. Rumour has it that the chairman had one child, but they stayed away from limelight for unknown reasons.
“Right on!” She replied firmly with a cheerful smile, and she gave him a thumbs up while holding the wheel with her other hand. “I am Tyrone Morris’s only daughter and as his only child, my dad dotes on me quite a bit and gives me all sorts of things; from luxury items, to endless supply of money and just letting me do whatever I want really.”
She was speaking in a cool manner, but he was flabbergasted by her words. That was a luxury he could only dream off according to the belief of the original owner of the body. He was even more baffled to see such a rich person living a mediocre life working at a hospital.
“W-What are you doing here when you have such a rich and famous family?” He asked her with a confused look on his face. “Couldn’t your dad like get you to do something else, like give you a spot at his guild or something?”
She nodded with a smile and said, “Yes. He did offer, but I kindly refused,” which surprised him as she went on saying, “because you see, I am my father’s daughter, but I’m not one of his peoples. I want to do something that is meaningful and has a lot of significance, and I found that in the form of helping others.”
“Couldn’t you have started something like a charity?”
“Why? So that the people under me could do money cuttings to take away the previous funds that people donate to help those in need around the world?” She asked back coldly. “Sorry, but I’m not like the other stupids that engage in such degrading activities. I want to help and receive thanks as a result, and that’s how I realised being a nurse is a really rewarding job.”

“Is that so?” He asked her, looking amazed. “That’s amazing, but how did your father take it?”
“My dad didn’t like it,” she said with a laugh. “He was so angry, he told me he won’t talk to me if I did that. But I’m not a softie, so I told him if he doesn’t let me do what I want, then I really won’t talk to him. So, we began ignoring each other and a few days later, he came to me begging me not to ignore him anymore and agreed to my demands.”
“W-What?!” He exclaimed, looking at her in shock.
There were public talks of how Tyrone Morris was a ruthless and brutal to anyone that dares to oppose him, even going out of his way to make their lives living hell for upsetting him. So, imagining such a man grovelling before his only daughter somehow made it very unimaginably strange to think about.
“So, you got into the hospital after he pulled some strings for you.”
Suddenly, Lina hit the brakes and the car came to a skidding halt while the cars behind her also skidded to a halt and many began sounding horns in anger and annoyance. He was alarmed and looked panicked by the sudden braking of the car and looked at her with fear.
“I feel offended!” She said, pulling her glasses off and giving him an irritable look. “Why did you just assume that happened?!”
“Um…!” He began uncertainly, now sure what to say. Then he stammered, “Don’t the rich kids usually do that?”
She scowled at him and asked, “Didn’t I just say earlier that I don’t involve myself in stupid actions like the others?”
There was a moment of pause in which her words sunk into his mind before he realised and exclaimed, “Hold on! You’re telling me you actually studied nursing, passed with high grades and got into the hospital that treats heroes and emergencies like mine all on your own?!”
“You betcha!” She replied with a grin, and she put the car into gear and sped away, leaving behind a trail of traffic that began to slowly get going again.
“Wow…!” He responded, with a look of awe on his face. “You’re really amazing.”
“Thank you very much!” Lina replied with a smile.
Once again, silence fell in the car for a few seconds before he thought of something and asked by turning to her, “Hey, I just realised something.”
“What is it?”
“How come you told me so much about yourself.”
“Are you wondering why I did?” She asked, and he nodded his head. This caused her to smile and state, “It’s because I can see you’re a good person.”
“Pardon? You can see that I’m a good person? How can you be sure of that?”
“I’m sure because I can see it,” she said and gave him a side long glance with a smile.
He stared at her vague statement with a look of confusion on his face. However, his thoughts were racing as he came up with different theories about why she spoke like that about him.
“Could it be she can use the Magic Force? Perhaps Elemental Sense? That can’t be since it only reveals whether the person spoke truth or lies. Then could it be Elemental Sight? That can usually tell you whether the person you’re looking at is an ally, neutral or enemy. That makes more sense, but I didn’t sense her use any kind of spell, or is her casting different to what I know?”
Like that, he remained deep in his thoughts while they sped away on the road at high speed. It did not take long before the car began to slow down and turned into a driveway. She drove the car along the drive way, which brought them towards the entrance to a large building where a few men were waiting.
“Alright, we’re here,” she told him with a smile, leaving the keys in the ignition and setting the car into park mode before getting off.
Zayden’s side of the door got opened from the outside by what looked like a fancily dressed man. He greeted him with a smile and allowed the young man to step out of the car and out into the open. Then the man gently closed the door behind and stepped away respectfully.
He did not know what to say as he found himself standing outside what was one of the most expensive clothes shops in the city. This was a place only the rich and famous would come to do their shopping because of the brands sold here.
“Alright, let’s head in,” Lina said to him after arriving to stand by his side. He did not hear her as he was transfixed on the building, and she waved her hand in front of his face while saying, “Hello? Earth to Zayden?”
“H-Huh?!” He exclaimed, looking quite shocked.
“Let’s go in,” she told him calmly and began walking towards the door, where two fancily dressed men opened the double doors made of glass for her.
“W-Wait?!” He stammered and rushed, and he glanced back to see their car being driven away by someone. After reaching her side, he asked, “Is it okay to let them drive your car?”
“I highly doubt they want to mess with anyone that can afford and drive a car like that,” she replied with a grin on her face, which made him become flabbergasted. “Now, let’s head to the men’s section to choose your clothing.”
“H-Hold on a minute!” He stammered, finally getting her to stop and turn to face him.
“What’s the matter?” She asked curiously.
“What’s the matter?!” He exclaimed in shock and began pointing at everything inside the building. “Why did you bring me here to this fancy place?! I can’t afford anything here!”
“Who said you’re paying for anything here?” She asked back much to his dismay. “Didn’t I say I’m gifting these things to you because you deserve them.”
“B-But—!” He began, but she cut him off by placing a single finger over his mouth to stop him.
“If you keep refusing any more than this, then I will be really hurt. Do you really want to hurt my feelings?” She asked him and looked at him with a puppy eyed expression.
“Um…?” He hesitated and looked quite uncomfortable to try and stop her.
Seeing his reaction, her expression changed to that of a grin as she said, “Alright then! Let’s head in!”
Lina turned and headed away, leaving him looking quite staggered. However, he understood his situation and shrugged his shoulders in resignation before following after her.
