Chapter 1 – Unlucky start
Thump, Thump, Thump. The sound of uneven deep breaths and loud banging on metal was all that could be heard for hours, “Alright that’s all for today, go to Jerry for your pay like usual.” A tall muscular man yelled out.
A young man tried to catch his breath, sweat was covering his chest, arms and face. Shortly after he calmed down, he wiped the sweat off his face and went to grab his pay for the day but was stopped by the tall man from earlier.
“Hey David, heading home?” The tall man asked as he handed David a water bottle, “Hey John, yeah I’m exhausted, one hell of a day” David replied whilst downing the entire bottle of water handed to him. John suddenly turned serious, catching David off-guard, “David I am going to be blunt with you, take a break, stop working for a week or two, seriously.” John said looking at David with unwavering eyes, “You know I can’t do that." David replied slightly depressed but trying to not let it show on his face.
Sigh, “Okay maybe not a week or two but still, its okay to take a break occasionally, maybe read some more of those novels you use to read. Just try to enjoy yourself and please don’t do anything drastic.” John said looking at David as his seemingly unwavering eyes turned into something indescribable.
David gave a knowing look at John and gave him a hug, “I know, I'm in a better place now.” David said before walking off to grab his pay and head home. A few hours later He arrived at his apartment, unlocked the door and walked in. He grabbed some clothes and hopped in the shower, as the cold splashes of water landed on his back. He quietly stood there as he thought about his life up to that point, What an utterly shit life, through his life he had repeatedly been kicked while down. His mother had a gambling problem which racked up a lot of debt which they could not pay off, soon after her gambling problem started his father had been in a car crash ending up in a comatose state in the hospital. The debt from both the hospital fees and his mother’s gambling problem kept stacking up. Next thing he knew his mother had disappeared leaving behind her debt and he had to drop out of school to work as many jobs as possible. 21 Years old and no happy future in sight.

Ha, hahahahaha, David started laughing and crying at his own misery. After an unknown amount of time in the shower he came out with puffy eyes, he looked around his apartment which had nearly nothing other then what had come with the apartment and the bed which he had barely managed to purchase.
David walked over to the kitchen bench and grabbed his phone that was left there charging, he unplugged his phone and hopped onto his bed, before pulling up a website to read one of his favourite novels. Soon after reading a couple of chapters he reached the latest chapter, frustratingly he had put his alarm on for the next day and then placed his phone back onto the kitchen bench and went to go to bed. Another day passes…
David feeling like he got the best sleep of his life, dazedly started to wake up and felt that something was wrong. He slowly got up and looked around only to find the ground was made of stone, “What the fuck?” David looked around and saw that not only was he not on his bed, but he was also in what seemed to be the middle of a barren looking world.
His thoughts were cut short when he started to hear a growl from behind him, David hearing this and still in a partial daze slowly looked back only to find a creature growling at him through its sharp canine-like teeth, David looked at it and started to panic. What the hell is happening? where am I? what the hell is that? The creature had a vaguely dog-like look, however other than the somewhat similar seeming structure of the creature, that was where the similarities ended. The creature had a horn protruding from the top of its forehead, as well as sharp claws that looked as if it could easily cut through flesh, however David couldn't think any longer about the creature as it attacked him.
David, still in a panicked state, jumped back and tried to run away, where to? He didn’t know but anywhere was better than here, so he ran, until. CRUNCH, suddenly a sharp excruciating pain travelled up his right leg, he screamed in agony as he saw his own leg detached and in the canine’s mouth.
The dog-like creature crunched and ate his leg in front of him and once it had mostly finished eating it looked back up and at David before licking its teeth and walking closer. However a humanoid being appeared in-between David and the creature. It kicked the creature and dug its claws into the dog’s head, pulled out the horn on its head, killing it immediately. The being stopped and looked at David, then as it stared at him as its face slowly was covered with a demonic grin.
