22.2 : Beating Around The Bush

After that troublesome lunch, Sól left for his upper year class. Nott was basically dragged away by the other Kindred aristocracy. But Fen somehow managed to cleanly dodge all of the aristocracy's attempts to also drag him away. Surprisingly, they actually gave up on him pretty easily compared to Nott.

Maybe it's because he's newly turned and his familia is of lesser standing than the Amaryllis? Regardless, I'm still impressed at Fen's easygoing attitude…

Actually, wait. I'm also impressed at Vani's ability to not care whatsoever and Ru's ability to play along so well…

Thinking of such backhanded compliments, the four of us head off to our next class.

Our schedules are structured with a break in between each of the three lectures we have daily. They're rotated between mandatory classes -

History & Culture,

Arms & Aegis,

Literacy,

General Studies, and

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

Law & Concords which we have next.

There's one more class everyone is required to attend. Etiquette for Humans, and an Advanced General Studies class focused on Kindred or Fairfolk related topics dependent on one's respective species.

This is taken alongside an elective of your own choosing. There was a whole array of choices, making it quite difficult for me to decide. In the end, I chose Inter-Political Relations.

The wide variety includes even things such as Magick Theory, Medicine, Horse Riding, as well as Arts & Aesthetics

…I have no doubt in my mind that the last one is what Leila chose, haha.

Vani and Nott chose Advanced Combative Training. Ru took Dance. While Fen surprisingly chose Progression of Culture in Civilization.

All three of us seriously doubted him when he told us. But lo and behold, he whipped out his registration schedule to point it out, all the while immaturely yelling “Ha! See?”

Arriving at the lecture hall, the four of us sit down. Law & Concords with Professor Teuille proves to be quite interesting. The class’ format is that of debate and mock trial, and I end up enjoying the hands-on type approach to learning.

“Under article 39-A of Sunria's civil procedural, the defendant has right to remain silent if the judge deems the prosecution guilty of badgering!” I shout dramatically.

Oh my, maybe I'm getting a little too worked up~

However, the class ends up giving me a standing ovation. Fen, Ru, and Vani are clapping the loudest.

Uwaaahhh...

My cheeks flush with embarrassment, yet I also feel a bit giddy. It’s an odd mix of emotions, but I decide that it's not a bad feeling.

T-Thank you, thank you~

Professor Teuille even personally comes up to me and gives praise. I feel a little overwhelmed as I sit down, but the earlier stress easily fades away with the praise and applause.
