Chapter 10 - Expose.com

13 February 2022 Sunday

Jack returned to his parent’s home from Central Park. He had pain in his back and cramps in his legs from the exercise, but had seen improvements from Jerry’s brutal exercise regime. Jerry changed the exercise when Jack started getting comfortable doing it, he gave the reason that because of different exercises new muscle groups developed, and because of new muscle enhancements, he could be in peak shape overall instead of many people who only prioritized specific muscle for cosmetic purposes. Jack agreed with Jerry on principle but was sore because of the exercises most of the time. Today, Jack wanted to complete details about the whistleblower campaign. After discussing with Jerry, they both got money for the campaign by outright stealing from the corrupt official's secret bank accounts and laundering the money to give out as physical gold, diamonds, or straight cash to the people who provided the information. Jack was worried about the possibility of people getting hurt in pursuit of information gathering, to which Jerry replied that every day these corrupt people destroy the lives of thousands of people in the entire country. Jack was not happy and asked Jerry to look for ways to safeguard people. Jerry gave him the option of hiring Fixers and assassins to protect people who seemed in danger. Jerry warned him for all of their precautions, people would get hurt. He wanted to make sure Jack understood the possibility. Jack was pacing in his room and snapped at Jerry, asking if he wanted to not help people. To which Jerry replied that his priority was well being of Jack and all other matters were secondary.

Jack sighed and told jerry in a weary voice, “I know all that Jerry but I can’t do anything in the face of these obstacles because eventually they are going make the life of everyone on earth difficult so I will need to make tough decisions and I know all these actions are gonna change me from within but I have to do this because it is necessary”

I understand your motivation but am telling you all this because it is my job. Do you want to talk specifics about our expose program?

Yes, let us start by how much access you have and limit it to the U.S. only.

I have access to all carriers in the U.S. and have backdoors to get specific info from them I can’t listen to previous calls since the phone companies do not record calls but can listen to any ongoing call but I am working on a system that will let us predict the calls which trigger certain parameter to be recorded.

How are you going to do that and what about the privacy of normal people?

When you provide me with a mainframe of my specifications, I can run a subroutine on the servers of telecom companies which will send the recordings

Of calls that trigger certain parameters. As for privacy, I need your permission to run a parallel process in a sandbox that will listen to all the calls and only send me the relevant calls and information, and will delete all other data every 30 days, so it will truly be gone.

That is a good plan, and you have permission. What about the rest of the access?

I have access to the FBI criminal database and also some of the CIA and NSA servers. And before you ask, Yes the rest of the CIA and NSA servers are out of reach not because of my competency but because without more computing power I ran a great risk of being discovered and some servers are also kept as cold so I will need to create a solution for that too.

What about local and state law enforcement?

You are joking right their security except some were pathetic and I could have permanently damaged them If I had used my usual tactics of sneaking in them because of overload. I have planted backdoors but real-time monitoring is out of the question sometimes since the entire system will start crawling if I use the backdoors in real-time.

That is kind of scary what about the private company's servers in the U.S.

Be specific in your question, Jack. If you are talking about the Fortune 500 companies, I have backdoors in all their servers. And on the surface, there is a good deal of stuff going on and we can take advantage.

Let us talk about that stuff later. How many files have you uncovered and scoured from all these servers?

Not a lot, about 5% because I don’t want to set off alarms because their servers are busy all the time. And there is also an issue if we want to scour every piece of the American government because we are bound to discover some shady experiments and research going on. There is also the question of how much time you want me to spend on this task because it will take resources from my already finite computing power.

That is the third time you have bitched about it. I can convince dad to let us purchase mainframes right now.

That would be premature, and I am venting on you. You are just supposed to go along. I want you to make modifications in the mainframes which would take time while you can not disregard having any home at the time to house the mainframes.

I forgot about the house situation. Let us move on to the expose program details how many people are we talking about from your evidence uncovering?

About 45 members of Congress, 15 senators, 9 sitting governors, 4 attorney generals of state, 55 mayors of different cities, 63 lobbyists, 76 people from Fortune 500 companies, and 5467 government officials from state and federal levels. This doesn't include more people from corporations because I didn't look enough.

Jerry that is a boatload of people and you have evidence against all these people.

Yes, I have evidence against all of them. If I expand the list, we can add some more names but some people are good at covering their tracks so there is no evidence against them. And some people will have major evidence in physical form and we have to decide how to recover the evidence.

How did you find all the evidence when you have not completely scoured servers in the U.S. and why did they keep all the evidence?

I started by scouring public records and there emerged a pattern of making things go away. When more thoroughly investigated I found an underground network of fixers who took each other's help sometimes and like all the good fixers they kept evidence of their clients sins as insurance so it took only some time to break into their servers and extract the info and all the physical evidence also has been located which they kept.

You found all the people because of their fixers.

No, I found the majority by fixers and because of their poor attempts at laundering money and some people believed in cleaning up after themselves, and sometimes they made mistakes.

So I assume the other type is people who cleaned up after themselves.

Yes, your assumption would be correct in those cases and we should not forget about the people whom the public will expose because of our scheme.

Now the question is how we expose them to the public and get them prosecuted because we did not make a list of law enforcement, justice department, and judges, so anyone corrupt on their side could get some people we expose free.

How about we vet top officials of law enforcement and some judges so that we can use them for the prosecution of these people?

Not that simple Jerry if we start with law enforcement we have to send information to those select few people before the expose and no method is full proof we could end up alerting people we want to expose we have to think of another solution so that these people are prosecuted.

Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator.

How about we declare with us expose we will come after corrupt people who help these men/women walk free?

No, that would be anti-productive and the entire country will be in debate if we are some neo-nazi organization. We have to think of a watered-down version that is just enough to keep them in check, but not viewed as a threat.

How about we post a reward of 1 million dollars for providing us evidence if someone tries to help people we expose to subvert the law, we could also maintain our watch over the officials involved in the case and get it going?

Can you spare your computing power for this task?

Yes, I can do that now. How are we going to make people believe we are going to reward them for providing evidence to us?

We can start a lucky draw of 2 million on our website after expose to make people believe we are serious about the money. We can make it so that 10 of the people who sign up on our website receive 200k each. That way, everyone will know we are serious about the money. And did you prepare the software kit to make sure if anyone contacts us, then they are completely anonymous?

Yes, I have completed it fully and using it to make sure that no one can intercept the information. Jack, who do you think we should target first? And what should be the website address?

We should start with Congress and the senate. How many of them tried to cover up the crime themselves or are bad at money laundering? As for the website address, check if Expose.com is available.

8 senators and 27 members of congress cleaned up after themselves or were involved in money laundering. But why these people? And the domain Expose.com is available.

We would target them first because then we would create enough stir so that when we make claims, they matter. We could use law enforcement to bust fixers and their clients because if not one of them is exposed initially, then they would grow in confidence and we could also find the best possible law enforcement officials to give the whole band. Since most will require physical evidence to tie them.

That is an as good reason as any.

When do you think we should start and how many?

Start from now on and divide them, so we publish evidence daily on the website and finish all of them before Saturday.

That would cause 2 senators and 5 members of congress on a daily schedule. Are you okay with that?

Yes, upload the evidence now on the website we made and call all the major news outlets and also tell them about the contest and that it will start from 6 A.M. and to publish the website link in their articles.

Done and done.

Jack walked out of his room to have dinner with his parents, who asked about his day and the employees. He asked his mother about the investigation in James's case, to which she replied he should concentrate on his life and not worry about the case. It was justified self-defense and the case should be closed in the coming weeks. She also told him that the FBI had started the process to pay the settlement and all the involved persons had resigned. Lannie informed him to expect the money in 2-3 days.

Jack wished his parents’ good night and went to his room. He asked Jerry about the progress, to which he replied that 3 major newspapers had called all their political reporters back into the office and they were trying to verify all the evidence. TV channels were scrambling to get quotes from people exposed on the website and there should be short news flashes about the arrests. When Jack asked about law enforcement's response, then he was told by Jerry that the FBI had taken all people in for questioning and been trying to locate the source of the evidence by trying to trace the website owner and the server.

Jack’s face had a smile when he slept on that day.

14 February 2022 Monday

Jack woke up early on the next day and walked into the kitchen where his dad was reading the news out loud about the senators and members of congress arrests. When Lannie noticed him, she inquired about his early wake-up in the morning. He just shrugged and told it must be because of early sleeping.

He asked Graham about the news, to which he started explaining all about the expose and fresh evidence published on a website. Jack interjected and asked if they had visited the website when both of them replied negatively. Jack pulled out his phone and opened the website and started showing them. Lannie was very interested in the content on the website. She started pointing out fresh evidence and what it meant for the senators and members of congress.

When they reached the end, Lannie snorted at the mention of the reward money and contest. Jack asked if she thought it was a fake then Lannie explained she did not doubt that it was real because to collect that kind of evidence and not use it to expose the people instead of blackmailing the people in question meant that they had serious resources at their back and the whole 2 million was a waste that could have helped their cause. And the whole watching over the entire process is a good move. It would make it more difficult to cut lousy deals.

They all started for the living room and turned on News Channels. On every news channel, the same news was playing over and over. According to News Channels, the FBI arrested both senators and 3 members of congress. While they questioned the other members of congress at the FBI office in Washington. Because of the sessions of the senate and congress, all the accused people were in Washington.

Jack told his parents that he was going for a run and his exercise. Jerry contacted him on the run and told him that Carlos had some choice words about their stunt and was asking how much evidence they had on other politicians.

Jack ignored everything and enjoyed the exercise in the gym after the run. He arrived at the office and started watching the news on his laptop. Carla arrived at the office after him and asked his opinion about the arrests and the website. Jack told her that according to him, it was great for people and he hoped it would reduce corruption. Daniel was the first employee to arrive. Others arrived shortly, and it led to a discussion about the exposure and the website. Daniel and Olivia told about the robust security of the website and that it was the best they had seen in their careers.

Jack asked why they had information about its security. Olivia averted her eyes from Jack and said that competitions were going on the Hacker forums and also in some Cybersecurity forums to get as much detail about the architecture of the website and there was also professional curiosity mixed in.

Carla asked if they had found some vulnerability, hearing that Olivia made a face, and said that she fell into a trap and the Hacker compromised her whole machine behind the website. Carla was interested in it and asked her to describe the vulnerability. When Olivia described the vulnerability, Carla just sighed and told her it was not her mistake, but the hacker was that good.

When Olivia and Daniel prodded her if she knew the hacker, Carla looked toward Jack and asked if they could tell them. Jac said that they had signed no N.D.A. so there should be no problem but for precaution, they should not release the information outside that room.

Carla told all of them about the hack of the r databases and how she fell into the trap. Olivia was sympathetic and asked if that was the reason they had to leave the FBI. Jack and Carla shared a smile at that and said that it showed them the actual face of the FBI and they quit. Everyone tried to further prod them for details but Jack shut them down.

Jack told everyone to get back to work and asked Olivia, Carla, and Daniel to examine the website he made and to suggest if I could make improvements.

He asked Harper about the list of equipment, to which she replied it should arrive later in the day for all of them. She asked if Jack was sure about the server purchasing and if she had his permission, she could start negotiating since for now, she had little work besides seeing the installation of equipment. Jack accepted the request and gave the go-ahead.

In the afternoon, Carla called for a break and turned on the news. On all the news channels, the drama was running at top rates. There were stories of people receiving the 200k lottery and, according to news, 15 people had publicly acknowledged that they received the money. Jack was smiling at the pictures on the T.V. Carla noticed and asked if he was enjoying the drama, to which he replied positively.

He told everyone that he wanted to put an ad on the Expose website. Everyone showed a unique reaction and Jack told them to stop so he can explain his reasoning. Jack said, “This website is going to generate the best traffic for some time and our ad buy would make a difference in the community. We can make a request on the email for AD buy and they will publish the ads next Monday with the next exposure. People are going to flood the site in the middle of the night they will not wait till the next day to hear about the new exposures so we will have an enormous feeding frenzy because as far as I can tell there is no space for advertising on the site for now and if we are successful in convincing the owner of the site to publish the ads, we can be the first.”

Carla said, “That is fine, Jack, but what about money? How are we gonna pay them because I don’t think they will have a standard bank account and won’t we come under scrutiny for being in contact with the people who are behind this Expose.com .”

“It will be fine. We can pay money in any form to the website because we are gonna pay taxes on them so we can safely say that it is aboveboard. As for associating with these people, I don’t think that will be a problem because I know after our E-mail they would make advertising possible on their website for everyone.”

Olivia said, “I agree with Jack because it will be unique and we will have many visitors from around the globe, so we can be sure to receive very large traffic.”

Everyone agreed with Jack’s plan. Carla asked him how much he is offering for the ad to buy. Jack replied he was offering 200k for the whole day on Monday. Carla said that was way much for their startup company. Jack just smiled and said that they should help to expose the corruption and criminality because they both knew how much difference it makes. He said to Carla, “I forget to mention Mom said that we should see the money in the bank this week.” Carla’s eyes got big from Jack’s words and she asked if he was yanking her chain because got. Don’t move that fast. Jack laughed and said, “They better move fast when my mom is telling them because she has a reputation for getting her way in most arguments.”

Jack asked everyone about the status of the work. Danieal told him he found minor problems related to maintenance on the website and he had suggestions to fix all of them. Olivia informed him she did not find any major weakness in the website and but they need to add protection on their system which provides free license keys to their software so it doesn’t crash because of heavy load and she could do it by the end of day. Carla told him she had contacted several headhunting agencies for candidates who could work for them and she would be busy interviewing people for the next 3-4 days. Harper told him she had called her contacts about using data center equipment and commodity hardware on cheap and would hear from everyone.

Jack told everyone that the lawyer hired by him had filed documents for the company and they would have launched operations. He was working on the last version of his software and he hoped to complete it by the end of the week. He gave a copy of his 3 software to them and told them to use them and find out if they had any major bugs. Jack had told Jerry to leave small bugs in 2 software since no one can make bug-free software in such a short time. Jerry was insulted by the notion but had agreed to do so.

Jack walked into his cabin and started working on filtering the list of companies that Jerry had given him that had been making technology to their satisfaction. He had to decide which companies they wanted to outright buy and which companies to help.

Jack asked Jerry about the diesel-producing algae, and if he had sent the money to research the project. He replied positively and also told Jack that he had fried a circuit in researcher equipment so because of faulty readings; they proceed in the right direction. When Jack asked how much time it would take to complete the research, Jerry replied 20-30 days.

Jack started working on the list again and was immersed in it. Jerry got him out of his musing by saying that they had a problem.
