Your New Beginning

Your New Beginning

Standing between several boxes in your living room, you look at the certificate for California College of Art in your hand.

After a moment, you throw it into the glove box, take out the tape and seal the box, readying for it to be shipped back home.

“Interesting.” You drop the tape onto the old sofa. “How about that? A major in film and video? I never imagine that. How many people are looking for opportunities every year in Hollywood? How many really succeeded?”

After you said that, you return to the bedroom, readying to change your clothes.

You search your memory and learn some crucial fact about yourself. “21 years… and now you have nothing to do, wow.”

Sitting down in a chair, you recall some important things that should never be completely forgotten.

Although you have lived in Los Angeles for 21 years since you were born in 1970, you can’t really forget the real experience that happened just yesterday.

In another time, in another world, you graduated from a rather famous film school. You spent a good amount of time with a well-known film company. You enjoyed the pleasure of initial success, but your success didn’t last long. Before your career was basically buried due to some bitch of an actress, you were unfortunately affected by a film explosion.

And now you are here. God is fair, taking away your previous life prematurely, but giving you another in this world – this strange world.

“Now, who is this person?”

As you recall from your memory, you grew up with only your mother in a single-parent family. Your mother – although not a super-rich person – has tens of millions of dollars to her name. This was due to her advertisement company has a close business relationship in Hollywood. In fact, your mother and George Lucas would consider close friends, at least until he made his fortune.

In addition to that, you – or the one you replace – has devoted to the love of film knowledge, scriptwriting, photography, editing, co-ordination and much, much more. These are all essential elements for success.

Apparently, your mind is like a sponge that absorbs knowledge like water. This was good, as you could recall everything in your mind very clearly. You decide to dwell a bit on your own history. Learning about yourself was always a good start.

So, from the certificate, you joined the California Academy of Art, which closely related to Hollywood and the film industry. Your mother apparently didn’t want you to go down this path and wanted you to attend a business school right after high school.

That is good! You make your own path and create your own future.

At the age of 16, you found yourself a broker, and with your family’s relationship in film production, you managed to gain experience with your role as extras in various film. Up to now, you have appeared in more than a dozen movies. Although, without any line of dialogue or clear shot in those films you were in, the accumulated experience has done you good.

However, you are not really satisfied with that amount of exposure.

As you blatantly disregarded your mother’s desire for your future, you are completely responsible for your cost of living outside your tuition and other expenses. Your mother might not agree with your choice in future career, she was not a monster that immediately cut off your lifeline.
