On a sunny afternoon, the preparation for Miyako to move into the shrine and leave both jobs, became final. After contacting the food café and grocery store of her decision to quit, she let her landlady, Kazuhiko Eiko, know of her intention to leave; for which the elderly woman was very understanding about.
She knew Hikari’s life as well as hers, would be at risk; they knew that the enemy was getting closer. It would not be fair to him to be following her about and more importantly, he needed to fulfill his duties as guardian of the shrine.
Miyako move to the shrine had been relatively easy on her since she didn’t have much in terms of personal possession.
“I wonder if the worshipper would think it strange that there are people living in the shrine.” she said.
“I made sure to hide our presence from them, you can see them, but they cannot see you.”

“That’s a relief. I don’t even know what I’d say if someone stopped me to ask for my reason to being here.”
“Stop worrying, everything is going to be alright.”
Later that evening, they were interrupted by the presence of a messenger who happened to be a yokai fish, bowing in greeting as the messenger said,
“I come with news from Amabie-sama, the great yokai of the eastern lake. My mistress wants a favor of Hikari-sama of the Inari shrine and is willing to do anything, if her request is granted.”
“What is it that she seeks?” asked Hikari.
“My lady wants Hikari-sama to grant her wish of becoming human, for a long time now, she has been observing the humans and has seen certain things. She wishes to enjoy the human world but still wants to retain her yokai power; word has reached my mistress of how your kind could grant the impossible.”
For a moment, Miyako felt lost for she could not understand why a yokai would want to appear human.
