Twelve Days Later
The morning shrouded the world in golden light, the sky was a clear blue canvas, and the air was filled with crisp freshness. Kaito had finally returned home. His movements were slow and cautious because of his crutches. Walking up to his floor, he confidently put his finger on the scanner to unlock the door.
As he crossed the threshold, he was relieved - he was home. With difficulty, due to the bulky casts on his arm and leg, he reached the fitting room. He awkwardly changed into his home clothes, the soft fabric of which gave him a sense of freedom. Leaning on his crutches, he went to the living room and collapsed onto the couch. Leaning back against its soft upholstery, Kaito stared up at the ceiling.
His time in the hospital had given him many hours to think. At first, despair overwhelmed him. Fate or something more divine had given him a second chance, and he had almost missed it. Death loomed over him again. The temptation to drop everything and flee Japan for a peaceful and safe life grew stronger every day.
But thoughts of a future in which war would engulf Japan tormented his conscience. Images of destroyed cities and the shattered destinies of innocent people came before his inner mind. These images depressed him to the core. Kaito knew that guilt would haunt him if he didn't try to prevent this disaster. He wasn't altruistic, but he realized that he wouldn't be able to live peacefully as he saw the world descend into chaos. The thought that he could have prevented these horrors would torment him for the rest of his life if he had done nothing.
He also couldn't bear the thought of being so close to death again, that he decided to change his approach. Overconfidence was his undoing. Self-confidence is important, but overconfidence is dangerous. Believing in victory before a fight is crucial; believing in victory without knowing your opponent and taking the fight is reckless. This principle is true in many areas of life.
Ultimately, Kaito decided not to give up on his goals, but to pursue them with greater prudence. He would only engage in battles where victory was assured, relying not on luck but on careful planning. He hoped that this newfound pragmatism would be the key to successfully navigating the path ahead.
Sighing heavily, he lowered his gaze. Reaching into the corner of the couch to grab the TV remote, he accidentally dropped it on the floor. Sighing heavily, he bent over and reached out again. Each movement was difficult for him - the casts made even simple tasks difficult. But suddenly his hand stopped a few centimeters from the remote.
At that moment, Kaito remembered his second quirk - telekinesis. Almost all the time he had ignored this ability, but having mastered the enhancement quirk well enough, he was able to unlock the potential of his second gift.
While telekinesis remained situational, it was not as powerful as it was in the perceptions of normal humans. The transparent energy he could manipulate objects with was created slowly, which limited its use to close combat.

Taking a deep breath, Kaito closed his eyes and concentrated. Red energy concentrated in his brain, amplifying it, especially the areas that were responsible for quirks. Gradually, invisible energy began to build up in his brain and slowly traveled down his body to his hand, traveling outside of his body and toward the console.
Kaito couldn't see the remote, but he clearly understood its shape and felt every curve and bulge. The feeling was unlike anything a normal person could experience. Concentrating, he drew the remote to his hand and grabbed it.
Pensive, he stared at the remote, enveloping it with red energy, then telekinesis. The amplification energy was wild, like lightning, and the telekinesis was as calm as water.
He had an idea, a useful application of his powers. He set the remote aside, sat down comfortably, and closed his eyes.
Releasing the energy, he enveloped the couch with it and began to get used to the feeling. Then he returned the amplification energy, and his body released transparent telekinesis energy. The process was much slower, and it took him ten times longer to envelope the couch.
Opening his eyes, a slight smile appeared on the boy's face, he had thought of a new use for his powers that he could train in this state. He made himself comfortable and closed his eyes again. Applying the powers required full concentration, so he doubted he could use them in parallel with other actions.
Red energy left his body. This time he decided to envelope the entire room with it. First, the energy enveloped the couch, then it went down to the floor and began to spread out in different directions. It slowly moved to the chairs, tables, cabinets, and walls until it covered the entire room.
Kaito felt a strange sensation of understanding and touching space, which initially made him uncomfortable. He decided to stop and get used to what he had already encompassed. The closest comparison that came to his mind was when you concentrate on the sensations of your body during meditation, feeling every part, every touch. But now he was feeling everything in much greater detail: the geometry of the room, every crevice. His accuracy of sensation would be similar if a person in meditation felt every millimeter of his body, both the skin and all the organs that were inside every vein.
The new use of powers had captured Kaito's attention completely, and he devoted the rest of the day to mastering it. Almost the entire time he had been recovering, he had been training his quirks, practicing control over them: how best to release energy, how much and with what density, how to control the raging energy of amplification, and so on.
In 21 days of recovery, he had not yet achieved full mastery of his quirks. In the beginning, he was getting used to his new use, calling it "radar". Then he began experimenting with the touch of the entire apartment. At first, the results weren't great, but as he continued practicing, he found the best ways to release and control energy.
One day he decided to test his limits. First, he enveloped the room, and then his barely perceptible red energy began to pass through the walls and into his neighbors. The farther it spread, the harder it got. Enveloping three floors, Kaito began to get a headache. He decided to scan one more floor for the last time. Analyzing the layout, people, and objects, he came across one room that had a man in it and decided to scan what he was doing.
Energy slowly rose up the man's legs due to the strain on his brain. Suddenly Kaito's entire body shuddered as if he had been electrocuted. He quickly opened his eyes and stopped analyzing. The sensation was discomforting - it was one thing to see, another to feel.
Kaito was still reeling from what had happened, he would never want to experience something like that, a man having sex with a doll.
He felt very weak, dizzy, and terrible. He realized it was a side effect of his brain overloading with his quirk. After that, he decided to put off scanning the neighbors and focus on his room.
