“I’m telling you they’re just kids!” A shrill voice exclaimed, “We don’t have a choice this is our last hope” replied another ”Also isn’t one of them like 85?” A bolt of electricity said, ”Plus what kinda kid doesn’t want to save the world?” “This isn’t some game, this is the difference between life and death! Do you realize that he won’t spare anyone of any age?!” “Silence!!!” A thunderous voice boomed, “we must decide now or all is lost.” With that a gathering of different colored lights illuminated the infinite space they were in and the stone table in the middle each one representing a different element. “My lord forgive our bickering but these are children not top tier adventurers.” A tree entangled with vines and flowers began to sprout on the table until it grew the shape of a face, “this fact is true however these teenagers and old man have a complicated history behind them and don’t exactly trust one another, we need broken people like them to do the task fitting and if they do not survive it doesn’t mean anything has changed.” The tree said without any remorse. “As much as I hate to admit it she is right, however I fear what these broken people might do with these powers”. A cold wind enters the space . “What was that?!” A frightened voice said, “no it can’t be him, I thought we banished him.” “We did…” a flickering flame whispered. They looked at the altar beneath them to see a hooded figure walk up the steps to the void, he was in a black cloak with purple runic designs. The eldritch horror looked up to reveal nothing but black mist swirling in his hood even his hands and feet were nothing but a shadow, the only source of light of him was his piercing glowing purple eyes. A cloud of purple smoke started to pour off of him as he faced the other beings “Hello there…”said the ominous being to which the bolt replied “general kenobi” as love rolled her metaphorical eyes. “My, My decades have not done you well my old friends,” the shadow grimaced, “Have you come to kill us,” the bright source of light shouted. “Of course not - yet at least, you see I know what you are all planning and frankly I couldn’t care less so please throw whatever kids you have at my herald but my - our goal will prosper” the thing laughed maniacally. “And just how do you expect us to live in a world filled with nothing but darkness, you promise us peace and survival but all you talk about is death and destruction just how are we supposed to trust you?!” “That’s the funny part” darkness replied, “you can’t no one can I am many things but a liar is not one of them. Join me now and together we will know true power!” “Refuse? And you will not be spared…” “What?” Light replied, shocked. Nothing but silence could be heard in the area “You’ve been warned.” With that darkness sent out a tendril of black mist to absorb, changing her orange glow to a purple, followed by absorb’s screams now turning into a dreadful raspy laugh. “Nooo!!!” The flame cried out but it was all too late. Darkness collected the floating aura of purple into his coat and moved on to the others, A flame started to grow the shape of a dragon breathing a bombardment of flames. Darkness easily absorbed the attack and let out a burst of purple flame. “Aw screw this!” Yelled a floating teal mist, “you can fight all you want but his power speaks for himself!” “What are you doing?” Light replied, “I’ve always been shadowed by all of you, here you sit like gods yet sending mere children to do your bidding! Well it’s time this world knows chaos” dread screeched. “Stand down! This is not your fight,” a chilling mist yelled. “If you can’t beat em…” dread took the shape of a horse skeleton as he rammed into the flame dragon. With the necessary distraction darkness turned to face light, “your powers are weak old man, When I left you I was but the learner now I am the master!” “Only a master of evil dark.” With that they both sent out a beam of their element clashing and pushing the ancients back, the elemental clash in the abyss sent shockwaves throughout the world. “Void now!,” just then a dark blue light revealed itself, as it said an unintelligible chant a black hole appeared sucking light in. “Why?! “Asked the terrified light, but before he was fully submerged in the paradox a shining grey light took the form of a bear made of steel knocking void away before he could pull him further. “Three traitors in one area now this will be fun!” The steel bear moves on to dread as the bear and horse clash. “You may not accept it now but at least a fraction of you will join me by the time I’m done, those at least strong enough to deserve life that is!” Darkness’ focus returned to light. “Now!!!” Light yelled “fire, ice, electricity, waste , and steel! Now is the time there is no choice. “ The following elements looked at light and gave a slight nod for they knew what needed to be done, in a flash they sent beams of their elemental down to a strange world named earth, In a few seconds they disappeared. Darkness let out a horrifying laugh, “I will deal with them when the time comes.“ Void opened a portal to where they came from and jumped in followed by dread and the corrupted absorb. “So this is how it ends?” Asked the sad dim light, “I suppose so.” “I hope you're happy… brother.” With that darkness sent a cold shadowy tendril impaling light, as his body sinked into the black hole. Darkness looked at his surroundings and all the other lights had fled, no matter he had no desire to rule weak infuriating rubble. Darkness walked to the remaining portal while humming a jolly sinister tune, see you soon he thought looking down at the world below him, the war of the heralds has begun.
