Her Own Little World [One-shot]

Her Own Little World

I just knew I was doing something crucial. I just knew it- before I was dragged into this piece of blankness.

It was as if, my soul and body parts itself. My soul or consciousness, dragged down in force to place me in this very world. The world was simple with 2 components, a dark floor and a pitch sky. Nothing else.

I looked around, searching for anything- anything would do at this point. A light encircles the shape of a human. Maybe a man. He’s barely at the end of this abyss.

I took a step forward, a splash-like white lines grew from each of my delicate steps. Those delicate steps became faster and now, it was running. I chase after that light, the only one being my hope of being here. Thus, I became desperate.

I kept running and falling. Then rose and ran again as if he’s important in a way. Seeing his face seemed my reason for being here. Our distance became much more devious, but I know that I’m advancing to the best of my ability.

I got closer with every quick step. The light grew brighter in my darkened soul. God, lend me your power to move this weak body of mine. It’s much more vivid now, it’s a man. His body shapes and detail were no better than a foggy morning. I stretched out my hand to grab his. I grip-

His hand I almost touched, became dust of lights as they went through my hand. He turned into millions of light specks, lifted and scattered. I tried to conceal the lights desperately as they flew away. Then, they fade and join the dark and become part of this gloomy air.

Thousands of anxieties flood in and pressure me in this infinite yet confined void. Dark dwells in this little girl’s soul, extinguishing the last small fire. Now, she’s part of this melancholy space. Tears gently slid down my face. I cried, god knows how long. I wept, howled, and called for the light. No use.

I moved my hand gently to pat my head, as it went through this gloomy air- a spark of light appeared for a brief moment. I tried repeating it, another spark. I kept on creating sparks after sparks to fill a brief light in this dark world. I tried to shape it into a sun to treat this torn soul.

A lone sun appeared- it was unexplainable as it looked like a painting yet too perfect for one. From the one point of bright light, expand and grow to brighten the whole void. It’s now a blank white space. Tears of soothe slid down.

I controlled my hands as if I were a maestro. Charming sounds of instruments filled my head. My hands flew through the air left and right, filling this blank space with my own fantasy.

A field of colorful flowers blooming swept a hilly terrain that just took shape. An ethereal scene as scents of these majestic plants fills the air.

A shack or some sort rose itself on the right side as forest grew next to it. Behind it all, divine powers shaped the world, carved mountains and hills. Coated it with greeneries and white patches occasionally on the mountain’s tips.

The white upper space now expanded a soft blue creating clouds and fog.

I finally took a look at the full picture. It’s astonishing- waves of terrain, colorful fields, and the majestic sky. The greatest fantasy a human could’ve wanted. But, it never was completed. In the blooming field, a spot was left untouched without any changes but the old white space.

I tried shaping it like I did with the other, but nothing happened. I walked up to it, entered the field, and swept my hands by hundreds of flowers. I touched the faded empty space, or I almost did.

My soul finally got lifted, merging both the body and the soul. I opened my eyes, to a painting- similar to what I created down there. In the blooming field, yet again was left untouched.

This short adventure finally reached its finality. Her real purpose was to wander in her own thoughts, solving a riddle only she could answer- her desired man.
