Hell's Not So Greatest Dad Shows UP

Hell's Not So Greatest Dad Shows UP

> It was a regular day. I was just chillin' on the couch, watching The Walking Dead and munchin’ on some Ruffles, while Jayden sat at the dining table, Texing his Girlfriend on his phone and eating cereal. That phone? Yeah, the one he got from Aiden as a birthday gift back in December. He’d been on it all day, calling his girlfriend non-stop.

>

>

>

> Just when Ed was about to get eaten by walkers, the doorbell rang. Which was weird, ‘cause I live on the 7th floor of an apartment building, and pretty much no one knows where I live. Not even Dad.

>

>

>

> Jayden got up and said, “Coming!” He opened the door, and his jaw practically hit the floor.

>

>

>

> Standing there was our dad. And he wasn’t alone. I instantly got up to greet him but froze when I saw the two people standing beside him. Two I recognized right away: our half-brothers.

>

>

>

> First, there was Orpheus—the Devil of Nightmares, also known as Father of Paralyzed Demons. He had hair just like me and Jayden, wearing a black sweater with “Field of Asphodel” written on it, topped off with a skull and crossbones and lyre design. Then there was Alastor—the Devil of War, also known as Ares for a minute. Dude looked just like Dad, only paler, with a nasty scar down his left eye. He rocked an aviator jacket and an old “AC/DC Highway to Hell” shirt, along with ripped jeans. A sword was strapped to his belt, casually, like it was no big deal.

>

>

>

> Dad smiled big and said, “Ah, kids! It’s been too long!” He spread his arms wide for a hug. Jayden—surprisingly—embraced it without hesitation.

>

>

>

> Then Dad turned to me, grinning. “Aw, Lucian, not gonna hug your old man?”

>

> If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

>

>

>

> I stood there, shocked. Alastor rolled his eyes and groaned, “I’m not gonna wait forever. Dad, you gonna tell 'em what this trip's really about?”

>

>

>

> Jayden's eyes narrowed suspiciously, sensing something was off.

>

>

>

> Dad's expression shifted, going from warm and cheerful to serious. “Well... we’ve got a bit of a problem,” he said slowly. “You see, there’s somethin’ going on—actually, mind if I come in first?”

>

>

>

> I waved them in, and they all settled on the couch. Dad took a deep breath. “Alright, there’s this thing—an ancient creature called the Behemoth. You guys know about it?”

>

>

>

> Jayden piped up, “Yeah! I read about it in that Newton book. The Behemoth is a creature that escaped from Tartarus. When it broke free, it nearly destroyed Hell, even reaching the Meadows of Asph—”

>

>

>

> I cut in, confused. “Wait, the Fields of Asphodel? Isn’t that from Greek mythology?”

>

>

>

> They all started laughing like I’d said the dumbest thing ever. Jayden shook his head, grinning. “Nah, luke, listen. There are these beings called False Gods. They’re the ones from all the myths—like Zeus, Odin, all those guys. They only exist because people believe in ‘em. The more people believe, the stronger they get. But if no one believes...”

>

>

>

> “They fade to dust,” Alastor finished, crossing his arms.

>

>

>

> Dad’s face grew even grimmer. “And right now, the Behemoth is threatening to tear all of that apart.”

>

>

>

> Dad’s words hung in the air like a bad storm brewing. Me trying to process what he’d just dropped on me. The Behemoth, False Gods, Hell being under attack—it all sounded like something straight out of a messed-up  Percy Jackson movie. But knowing our family, it wasn’t just a story.

>

>

>

> Jayden leaned forward, his voice steady but laced with curiosity. “So, what’s the plan? You don’t just show up here with the family reunion unless there’s something big going down.”

>

>

>

> Alastor smirked, fiddling his sword casually as if this whole situation was no big deal. “The Behemoth is already tearing through realms, and Hell is barely holding it back. We’ve got hades is on edge, quaking in his boots, demons panicking, and if this thing breaks through... let’s just say it’s gonna be a real bad day for everyone.”

>

>

>

> Dad nodded, his expression serious. “Exactly. And we need you two. You’ve got power, both of you. More than you even realize.”

>

> I blinked, stunned. “Wait, hold up—us? What are we supposed to do? I mean, yeah, Jayden’s been doing his hero thing, but me? I’m just the guy who watches The Walking Dead and handles my own business. I’m not exactly Behemoth-fighting material.”
